1 The Vair Fax From the Editor This month we meet on Valentine s Day at the Ole Country Buffet. Does this mean I get off easy this year with a cheap meal for Heidi? Shhhhh don t tell her I said that. As you will read, we have just about everything planned out for Springfest. It also looks like I should be able to attend if the schedule I was given hold up. for aircraft testing. However, Heidi is working on her master s degree and taking extra classes, so I am not sure she can make it. I ll keep my fingers crossed. THE SWAP SHOP FOR SALE: 1962 Corvair 4DR sedan. New ignition system, new carbs, new A/C compressor (installed, but not completely hooked to system). Good black interior seats, original tube radio works, almost new tires, good paint (Candy Apple) with just a few spots of surface rust under paint. In addition I have what I believe to be a complete engine for a 1960 Corvair, new pistons, cylinders, bearings, just is not put together, along with a transmission. I also have a complete engine for a 1963 (ran when pulled out). It has a new torque converter, new starter. Distributor is off of engine as well as carbs. 4 JANUARY MEETING MINUTES - HEIDI CLAMP For January, we met at Lay Grant s home with Corvair Atlanta and Queen City Corvair Club to eat some of Clay s great cooking and plan out Springfest. Attending were Bonnie Laseter (Heidi s mom), David and Heidi Clamp, James and Lillian Law, Joe and Rhonda-Gail Gleaton, Shirley Smith, Chuck Smith, Bill and Jeanette Rudolph, Wanda Cook, Tye and Janet Howard, Al and Paula Hilderbrand, Joan and Chris Law, Keith and Sharon Burkingstock, John and Doris Eakes, Nolan and Anne Grant, Ted and Nancy Farenthold, Lanny Milbrandt, Dan Terry, Chuck Wofford, Paul Llewellyn, Earl and Lindy Lively, Tom Constantine, Wayne Whitmire, Robert, Amy, and Mikey Birkinbine, Nan and Dan Cook, Dick and Dee Charest, Vernon Bryant, Tim Vossler. Raymond Paul. Joe Gleaton opened the meeting. Lillian reviewed the 2014 Springfest Finance Report. We reviewed the 2015 committees. We had discussions about breakfast Saturday morning and will not be serving breakfast this year. We went through all the committees confirming all the volunteers. Club members attending Springfest are to bring drinks as follows: Heart of GA: twelve pack of name brand soda Corvair Atlanta: twelve pack of name brand diet soda Queen City: water Ladies: 2 desserts Men: 2 bags of NAME BRAND Ruffles. The flowers were beautiful and appreciated much. It is difficult to express how much the fact that you simply cared meant to me.
