I thoroughly enjoyed the holidays this year and spending time with my family. Our newest edition, Mason (my nephew) was able to make it along with my brother and sister in law from MN. I am still finishing up a few odds and ends on my 63 getting ready for Springfest and anxious to get working on Chuck Smith s car so he can drive it there as well. The Corvair Christmas party at the Law s house was delicious and we appreciate Lillian, her sister, Eleanor Bruce and all of the others that prepared the feast, please RSVP so I can get a head count for the January meeting. New ignition system, new carbs, new A/C compressor (installed, but not completely hooked to system). Good black interior seats, original tube radio works, almost new tires, good paint (Candy Apple) with just a few spots of surface rust under paint. In addition I have what I believe to be a complete engine for a 1960 Corvair, new pistons, cylinders, bearings, just is not put together, along with a transmission. I also have a complete engine for a 1963 (ran when pulled out). It has a new torque converter, new starter. Distributor is off of engine as well as carbs. I have the carbs as well as more parts for the 63 engine. Will sell every thing for $2000 or best offer. It was running when I put it in storage. It is a 110 HP engine. Also have a 140 HP that I would like to go with the car. ( needs to be rebuilt) This leaves me with a 1963 Spyder and a 1970 Chevelle SS that are giving me all that I can handle. The car is in storage in Eatonton, Ga. 4 From the Law - well Mrs. Lillian Law SPRINGFEST PLANNING Meeting, January 13, 2018 Corvair Atlanta, Heart of Georgia, Queen City Corvair and Vulcan Enthusiast Corvair Clubs. The annual Springfest Planning meeting will be held at Clay Grant s Place, January 13, All members interested in making Springfest a success is urged to attend. We will be making decisions and filling positions needed to make this the event we have a reputation for. This is a chance to meet our new members and finalize our plans. There is something for everyone to do. You may have an idea that will be helpful. Clay will prepare the meal. Lunch will be served at 12:00 noon, with the meeting to follow. We need to get a head count for the meal. Please RSVP to Lillian, lawjandl@aol.com or or by January 9, Directions to Clay s place 940 Weldon Road, Forsyth, Georgia. From Macon/Warner Robins take I -75 North to exit 188 (Highway 42N.) This is a horseshoe ramp. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Highway 42N. Go 6.7 miles and Weldon Rd. will be on your left (right past MM 23). If you go past a nursing home, you missed it. Go 1.8 miles on Weldon Rd. and Clay s place is on the left. You will see the red metal building from the road. Be sure to take the driveway (2 nd one) across from mailbox marked 940. From Atlanta, take I 75 South to exit 198 (High Falls Rd.) turn left and go 2.7 miles (you will cross High Falls State Park Bridge) Turn right on Blount Rd. Take Blount Rd. 2.2 miles to Weldon Rd on your right. Go 1.2 miles on Weldon Rd. Mailbox 940 will be on your left, Clay s driveway is directly across from it on the right. You will see red metal building once you turn in the driveway. PAGE 4

5 November Meeting Minutes Shirley Smith Item 1. Welcome and opening prayer by Pres. Joe Gleaton. Item 2. Chuck Smith presented a collection of Corvair Atlanta Newsletters and Corsa Communiques dating back to the 1970 s Plus a copy of the hard-back book The Corvair Decade. This book was offered as a free drawing, won by Chris Law. This collection and book were given by Mrs. Faye Heal of Milledgeville, Ga. These were saved by her late husband. Item 3. A financial report was given by Lillian. We cleared $32.00 at the fair but are still in a good financial condition. Item 4. New Officers were elected. For They are: President-Chuck Smith Vice-President-Joe Gleaton Secretary-Shirley Smith Treasurer-Lillian Law Item 5. Appreciation was expressed to James and Lillian for once again hosting the Christmas Party in their home. Item 6. Chuck showed the Heart of Georgia Feather Flags to be shown at Heart.of. GA functions and other events but were found to be unsatisfactory and will be returned for correcting. Item 7. 6 HEART OF GEORGIA CORVAIR CLUB January 2018 From the White House- President Chuck Smith Well, I do live in a white house. Many thanks and much appreciation to James and Lillian for having us in their home for our Christmas dinner and bash again this year. Wonderful food, great conversation and the getting together of family and friends made this the top event of the year Thanks also to outgoing president Joe Gleaton, who led our club for the past few years. And thank you for electing(?) me president for the next year. Honestly, as laid back as our club is, I really don't see the need for officers, but CORSA requires it, so life goes on. I know this is old news to some, but Clay Grant is going to help me, but truth be told, I am going to help him get my '67 convertible back on the road, after sitting for over 3 years. I hope it won't be too bad, as I am very excited about driving it again. Everyone please make plans to attend the January meeting at Clay's house.
