2 April 2016 Page Two Helicopter being prepared for Static Display Owned and sponsered by Military Machines of American Freedom, the OH-6 is being refurbished as a project at Lively Technical School Airframe Department in Tallahassee. The helicopter will be finished in it's original Viet Nam color and number, as it was when serving in country.

3 Page Three April Springtime Tallahassee Parade On Saturday, April 2, 2016, members of the MVPA participated in the 2016 Springtime Tallahassee Parade. Early morning showers threatened to put a dampener on the planned festivities. However, the clouds parted just prior to the parade start and the sun shone through making for a beautiful day. The parade was well attended with 106 parade entrees and spectators numbering in the several thousands. The parade proceeded down the main street passing by Florida s state capital building. It was a wonderful parade and a perfect start for spring time in north Florida. The parade was covered live by the local television station. MVPA members participated by showing their pride in their vehicles and waving to all the spectators. Bill Grimes drove his M151 jeep, Robert Grimes drove a real crowd pleaser with the WWII DUWK belonging to the Camp Gordon Johnston Museum, Russell Deese drove his M1078 troop carrier, John Booth drove his WWII M6 Dodge bomb truck and Kevin Vislocky drove his M998 Humvee. After the parade, everyone met at the Golden Corral restaurant for a belly filling buffet lunch. A great parade and a great time was had by all. 5 Page Five April 2016 MVPA displayed in Tallahassee Veterans Day Parade Special from MVPA member Kevin Vislocky On November 11, 2015, members participated in the Tallahassee Veteran s Day Parade. It was an absolutely beautiful day and the parade was well attended with several thousand cheering viewers. Wesley Marsh led our group with his ever faithful M274 Mule. Bob Durham brought his 1943 MB Jeep along with Rosie the Riveter. John Booth brought his 1944 M6 Bomb Truck. Lee Booth drove John s M151 Jeep. Bill Grimes brought his M151 Jeep. Dan Simmon s brought his newly restored Dodge M37. Bob Grimes drove the Camp Gordon Johnston Museum WWII DUKW which had recently undergone some restoration work by Bill and Bob Grimes. Russell Deese brought his M1078 truck. Kevin Vislocky brought his AMG Humvee with a M1101 trailer. Accompanying the Humvee was Cub Scout Pack 79. Pack 79 was able to also have their picture taken in front of the Humvee with Leon County Sheriff Mike Wood. After the parade, everyone gathered up at the Golden Corral Restaurant for a fine lunch. The parade was a fitting tribute to our military veterans.

6 April 2016 Page Six Bob Redfern and Jerry Hudson went around and interviewed recognizable names. Some of those names include /don Murray from TJN Murray, Club President Dave Thomas and Robin Hazen from Government Liquidation. We did a final trail ride on Sunday and made it back in time for, once again, a spectacular reenactment at 12:30. Winter Rally 2016 The First Florida Chapter held their annual Winter Rally at Renniggers Flea market in Mount Dora on February 26. On Wednesday, the 24th, people were already setting up. This event was full of funny moments that will live on as jokes for years to come. Officially staring on Friday at 8 A.M., filming for the new TV show Military Collectors had already begun. We started breaking camp around 3:30 and began policing the area. It was a memorable event and we're looking forward to next year. You can see more at : MVPA, First Florida Division C/O Stan A.
