Dark soot stains still speak proudly of the days when the entire works ran on coal and steam. The ancient brick paving bears the marks of horses hooves digging in on rainy days with heavy loads, and you ll still find cinders in the weeds alongside, left there by the plant s hardworking 0-6-0s. But through the decades and the many changes that followed, the company s big gantry crane has stood the test of time.
