1 April 2016 Canadian Pacific Road Number 3552 This 70 heavyweight mail baggage car is painted maroon with gold lettering, black roof and runs on 6-wheel passenger trucks. These cars had a 30-foot mail room that was separate from the general freight compartment for security and could be found with other RPO s and Baggage cars at the head of a passenger train. Milwaukee Road Road Number 817 This 70 heavyweight mail baggage car displays the standard orange and maroon scheme common on Milwaukee Road passenger equipment. Milwaukee was an important hub in the distribution of freight and mail through most of the 20th century. As a result, Milwaukee Road fielded a large and varied fleet of cars designed to deliver the mail from the Great Lakes to the Pacific Ocean. These cars had 30-foot secure mail rooms and 40 baggage compartments. # $29.95 # $30.80 Baltimore & Ohio Road Numbers B&O 11110/11116 These 40 despatch stock cars are Iron SesquiOxide with white lettering and run on Arch Bar trucks. Built in 1915 as part of series , they helped B&O provide safer, more efficient transportation of all manner of livestock. Fruit Growers Express Road Number FGEX 1100 This 51 rivet side mechanical reefer is painted white with light blue band and runs on Roller Bearing trucks. Wabash Valley RR was a short line that operated in southern Illinois and parts of Kansas for only 5 years on former PRR track. In order to compete with area railroads, the WVR bought into the Per Diem program and was able to upgrade their small fleet with modern equipment. PER DIEM SERIES CAR #3 Ringling Bros. Heavyweight Series Road Number 218 This 70 circus flat car is red with yellow lettering and carries a unique vintage wagon with special sides displaying a dragon. 2 Denver & Rio Grande Western Road Number D&RGW 2906 Log Cars w/load This 39 single dome tank car is aluminum with black lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Great Northern Road Number This 40 double-sheathed wood box car with 1-1/2 door and vertical brake wheel is brown with white lettering and runs on Andrews trucks. Built in 1923, as part of series , by American Car and Foundry in Detroit, MI the 3,645 cu ft. auto carrier featured a reinforced fishbelly underframe. The 72 forward-facing Rocky is typical of the road s herald configuration from 1922 to Rocky was later seen in side-facing silhouette. Western Pacific Road Number 6051 This 50 steel side fixed end gondola with low cover is painted black with large orange Western Pacific feather and yellow lettering and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1945 by Mt. Vernon Car Co. as part of series , this gondola is one of 10 re-numbered cars that were converted to steel bar service. WP picked up part of the steel contract with the giant US Steel. Built in 1954 as part of series , these cars were designed to carry auto parts to manufacturing plants feeding the explosive demand for new vehicles during the mid 1950s.
