1 June 2014 Norfolk Southern Road Numbers NS 2202 / NS 2203 NEW SW1500 LOCOMOTIVE! These powered SW1500 locomotives are painted black with white lettering and white reflectors on sides and ends. It has safety yellow end rails and black side rails. The EMD SW1500 was a 1,500 hp (1,119 kw) diesel locomotive intended for switching service and was built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division. The SW1500 featured a bulkier car body and was a bit heavier from earlier models although its intended use remained the same, working light branch lines or in industrial settings. The roof is black and underframe is dark gray and runs on 6-wheel passenger trucks. In the mid-late 1940s NYC added a single pane window opposite the former Drawing Room location for the 60 seats, given it was rebuilt as a Coach Car. Western Pacific Road Numbers WP / These 40 despatch stock cars are painted brown with white lettering and run on bettendorf trucks. They were originally built by Pullman in 1916 as 40 boxcars, and then two hundred of them were later converted to stock cars. Like many planes in WWII, this B-29 bomber was decorated with custom artwork by its pilot to personalize the plane. The Bock s Car B-29 bomber was part of the 20th Air Force, the 509th Bomb Group and 393rd Squadron. NOSE ART CAR SERIES CAR #2 White Eagle Road Number WEPX 566 This 39 single dome tank car is painted black with white lettering and Eagle logo. It was built in 1917 by ACF Milton as part of a 30 car series delivered to White Eagle Oil & Refining. White Eagle Oil was purchased in 1930 by Socony Oil and through many mergers eventually became part of Mobil. 2 Norfolk & Western Road Number NW This 40 standard box car with single door is painted black with white lettering and large white herald. It was built in 1952 as part of series and runs on bettendorf trucks. When serviced in 1972 it was repainted in this black scheme with the removal of the N&W ampersand. Minnesota, Dakota & Western Road Number MD&W This 50 rib side box car with plug & sliding door, without roofwalk is painted green with white lettering and circle logo. It was built in 1976 by FMC as part of series and runs on Barber Roller bearing trucks. Minnesota Dakota and Western Railway is a shortline railroad operating between International Falls and Ranier, Minnesota as well as between International Falls and Fort Frances, Ontario. The railroad interchanges with Canadian National Railway at Ranier, Minnesota. # $19.20 # $24.80 Union Pacific Road Numbers UP / These 60 centerbeam flat cars with I-beam construction are painted UP box car red with white lettering. They are part of a fleet of 120 cars built in 1988 by the Thrall Car Manufacturing Company. The manufacturer replaced their opera-style partition with I-beam construction in an effort to reduce car weight while increasing load limit. WITH WOOD FRAME LOADS Canadian National Road Number CN This 50 gondola with straight sides and drop ends is painted CN brown and has white lettering and runs on black National B-1 trucks. One of 70 gondolas built in 1937 as part of series , renumbered into series in the 1960s and rebuilt for lead-zinc ore service in 1973, ultimately being renumbered into the series. 3 YOUR SOURCE FOR Z Norfolk & Western Road Numbers 3717/3697 These powered F7A units were built in 1952 by EMD and are painted black with imitation gold lettering and hamburger logo. Norfolk & Western was headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia, for most of its 150-year existence. Its motto was Precision Transportation they had a variety of nicknames, including King Coal and British Railway of America. WWII Bourbon Boxcar Road Number This 60 Flat Car is painted navy grey with black lettering and carries a 40 olive drab container featuring real WWII nose art known as Bourbon Boxcar. Like many planes in WWII, this B-24J bomber was decorated with custom artwork by its pilot to personalize the plane. It was built as part of series and runs on roller bearing trucks. The single well double-stack container car was first introduced at the 1990 International Intermodal Expo in Atlanta, GA. This design allows cars to be made up of single wells, or with simple modifications, to be drawbar connected to create a multi-unit car. When a fleet of 151 of these cars were reweighed and painted, only received this Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde appearance. With black roof and ends, the right side wears the correct box car red color. The other red paint was incorrectly added to the side left of the door; The red paint shade is only for cars equipped with Shock Control.
