These containers are commonly seen filling the space in the bottom position of intermodal well cars with equal-length or longer containers above them. APC operates container ships and intermodal rail and truck services around the world. NEW 48 CONTAINER CSX Road Numbers / These 50 airslide hoppers are tan with black lettering and run on 100-ton Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built by the General American Transportation Co (GATC) for several of CSX s constituent roads Seaboard System, Chessie, and C&O, they were renumbered as the series These cars were specifically designed for use with fine-grained commodities, like powdered sugar, that could settle en-route making unloading difficult. Built in 1959, these unique 25 Compartmentizer-equipped cars wore an experimental paint scheme similar to the red and grey paint scheme of Southern Pacific diesels. Ultimately vetoed by management for use on freight cars, these cars continued to wear this paint for years to come. Kansas City Southern Road Number WRWK This 89 tri-level closed autorack is white with the KCS 125th Anniversary Logo adorning the sides. It runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 2012 with WRWK reporting marks, these cars are frequently seen in long unit trains. Headquartered in McCloud, California, the McCloud River Railroad interchanged with the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific and operated from 1897 until Primarily a lumber/timber railroad, the McCloud once had over 1000 railcars and had regular passenger service until PER DIEM SERIES CAR #10 NASA Series Road Number MHAX 1174 This helium car was one of the heaviest railcars ever made. Built in 1961, these cars were initially used by the BLM to transport helium from mines in Texas. 2 Canadian National Road Number 8900 This 70 heavyweight horse car is green with black roof and yellow lettering and runs on 6-wheel passenger trucks. Built in 1921 by Osgoode Bradley in Worcester, Massachusetts, they were then transferred to the CN in 1924 from GTW. They contained 24 horse stalls and three doors per side to allow efficient loading and unloading of horses. New Haven Road Number 3270 This RPO heavyweight passenger car is green with white lettering and runs on 6-wheel passenger trucks. Built in 1914 by the Laconia Car Company, they were equipped to sort and catalogue mail en-route, with mail bag storage racks and sorting tables. While these cars did not have the recognizable wide baggage doors of some RPO s, they did still have mail slots for public drop-off of mail parcels directly into the car. # $29.95 # $29.95 Northern Pacific Road Number This 50 standard box car with single door and no roofwalk is brown with white lettering and yinyang herald. During the late 1960s, many cars on the Northern Pacific roster were rebuilt or replaced to increase load capacities. By 1969, these 50-ton cars had been upgraded to 55-ton cars and downgraded from merchandise service. Vintage Postcard Series-Rooftop Delivery This car is the eighth of nine releases in the Vintage Christmas Postcard Series. This modified 40 box car features vintage postcard artwork of Santa making a special rooftop toy delivery on one side and a special postcard message from Micro-Trains on the other side. Built in 1955, as part of series , ATSF used these cars for temperature-critical commodities across the West until at least the 1980s. Union Pacific Road Numbers 30254/30296 These 50 gondolas with fishbelly sides and drop ends are synthetic red with yellow lettering and run on Bettendorf trucks. Built in 1957, as part of series , these cars filled the need for specialized gondolas. 6 New True-Scale Coupler Welcome to the newest N scale coupler from Micro-Trains, the True-Scale Coupler! This new coupler is specifically designed for accurate scale size, more prototypical features, proper scale-distance between cars and no slinky effect when operating. This easy-to-assemble and install body mount coupler consists of a draft gear box, lid, knuckle, lip shank and a separate plug-in air hose. There are no springs. They are uncoupled manually using a sharp toothpick or a needle and can be joined by simply pushing the cars together. These couplers are to scale so they will not couple with existing larger N scale couplers. For those who have Magne-Matic or other coupler systems, you can use a conversion car (like the ones below), which comes with a Magne-Matic installed on one end and a True-Scale coupler on the other.
