HYDAC is pleased to announce the re-launch of the QuickShip program, which includes some of our most popular parts from multiple product lines. This program replaces the old Preferred Stock program. With the change, you may notice that some parts were removed, but others were added. These additions and deletions are a part of natural growth and changes within the program. The discount from the Preferred Stock program was retained. How does it work? HYDAC Distributors place purchase orders with HYDAC Customer Service and use Quick as the quote number or mark their POs clearly as QuickShip. Only QuickShip parts can be entered on a QuickShip order. If a quantity larger than the maximum allowed by this program is needed, customers may split the quantity and order the maximum allowed by QuickShip on a QuickShip order and order the balance separately. The balance can be placed on a Rush order or a standard order and the appropriate discount will apply. Under this program, all parts purchased will receive the QuickShip discount (identical to the old Preferred Stock discount) unless they are ordered as a Rush or unless they are ordered on a standard or stock order to which a better discount would apply. All parts in this program will be available to ship within 5 business days. Customer may choose to use an expedited or unexpedited freight carrier. 6 ELEMENTS & FILTER ASSEMBLIES Betamicron Elements Betamicron filter elements have been optimized with respect to filtration performance, in fluid cleanliness, lower ΔP/Q, pleat and element protection while handling and operating, and high stability level throughout its life. These elements offer a superior level of optimization of separation efficiency, service life and differential pressure versus flow rate. Optimized mesh pack structure maximizes the media area available to capture dirt particles and minimizes resistance to fluid flow. Improved performance (optimized Beta efficiency, contamination retention, P/Q characteristics and Beta stability) and lowered weight due to plastic spiral lock seam support tubes. All plastic end caps and support tubes are carbon impregnated to conduct electricity, which ensures that static electricity will not be generated to levels high enough to arc. Element outer wraps are made of plastic (polyester) to reduce environmental impact and improve fatigue resistance. Zinc-free construction prevents zinc soaping. Optimicron Elements Optimicron filter elements have been optimized with respect to filtration performance and energy efficiency. These elements offer the best optimization of separation efficiency, service life and differential pressure versus flow rate. Unique HELIOS pleat geometry optimizes media area open to flow to calm the flow in areas between pleats reducing ΔP. Outer wrap perforations insure optimized flow onto the filter pleats and help to minimize pressure losses. Outer wrap perforations also help to distribute the fluid incidence stresses evenly in the axial and radial directions and thus increase tear resistance. ECOmicron Elements The ECOmicron filter element is environmentally compatible with most hydraulic and lubrication fluids and also compatible for high water based fluid application use (Please consult factory for synthetic fluid use). The media seam is welded with patented HYDAC ultrasonic welding process, which prevents media migration. Non-welded housing design reduces stress concentrations and prevents fatigue failure. Inlet/outlet port options SAE 4-bolt flange to allow easy installation without costly adapters. O-ring seals are used to provide positive, reliable sealing. Nitrile rubber provides compatibility with petroleum oils, synthetic fluids, water-glycols, oil/water emulsions, & high water-based fluids. Bolt-on lid requires minimal clearance for removal. Reusable contamination basket prevents loss of retained contaminants into the reservoir during element replacement. Clogging indicators can be serviced without interruption of the hydraulic system. Single piece casting provides rigidity for inline or in-tank mounting Inline / Low Pressure Filter 360 psi; up to 459 gpm with ISO 32 (refer to the Filter catalog for proper filter sizing) NF Filters have an extremely large filtration area and flow capacity of 459 gpm (4 pipe size limitation) Vent and drain ports are standard Aluminum alloy is water tolerant - anodizing is not required for high water-based fluids (HWBF) Screw-on lid provides easy access to filter element for replacement Filters can be fitted with clogging indicators to monitor the contamination level of the element Flange connection bolts included for all SAE-DIN flange ports MFM Series Inline Pressure Filter 4060 psi; up to 26 gpm Because of their efficient design and construction, MFM filters are considered a cost effective solution for new equipment, or as a replacement for filters already specified on existing equipment. A quick-response bypass valve located in the filter head protects against high differential pressures caused by cold startups, flow surges and pressure spikes. The high bypass pressure setting (100 psid) minimizes the possibility of contamination due to premature bypassing. Filter materials are compatible with all mineral, lubricating oils, and commonly used fire retardant fluids per ISO Fatigue pressure rating equals maximum allowable working pressure rating. DF Series Inline Pressure Filter 6090 psi; up to 83 gpm Non-welded housing design reduces stress concentrations and prevents fatigue failure. The screw-in bowl mounted below the filter head requires minimal clearance for replacement element and contaminated fluid cannot be washed downstream when the element is serviced. HYDAC differential pressure indicators have no external dynamic seal, thus eliminating a potential leak point. A poppet-type bypass valve located in the filter head provides positive sealing during normal operation and fast opening during cold starts and flow surges. Our aim is to maximize machine availability and to optimize systems of all media types while reducing operational costs and improving product quality. HYDAC Filter Systems include portable and inline contamination monitors, as well as portable and permanent offline filters. We also offer in-depth analysis kits and fluid conditioning systems. 11

It is a compact, self-contained filtration system equipped with high efficiency, high capacity elements capable of removing particulate contamination and/or water quickly, conveniently and economically. This offline system can be used to supplement inline filters when adequate turnover cannot be achieved in the system. It is also ideal for water removal. The OF5HD dual filtration unit can be used to remove both water and particulate contamination, or for staged particulate contaminant removal. 12

15 OLF Compact Filtration Units FILTER SYSTEMS The OLF Compact Series filters are used for offline filtration of hydraulic oil reservoirs up to 1000 gallons. Compact filter design allows end user to efficiently and cost effectively clean up highly contaminated systems. Applications include injection molding machinery, machine tools and mobile equipment. The MAFH Dehydration Stations are designed to remove free and dissolved water from reservoirs. An on-board water sensor shows the actual humidity value on the control panel. 16 FILTER SYSTEMS Replacement Elements Betterfit Interchange Elements HYDAC s family of interchange elements has a new name and a new focus. The former Betafit line will now be called Betterfit, and will incorporate an exclusive outer wrap that not only improves performance, but also provides quality protection. It features a unique oval-hole design that improves flow for more efficient filtration, ensuring long system life and cost savings. This is a one-of-a-kind oval design, so you can be assured that when your element includes this outer wrap that it is a HYDAC original and not a low quality imitation. Aquamicron Elements These elements are specially designed to separate water from mineral oils. They are only supplied in the dimensions of HYDAC return line filter elements from size 330 and larger. This means that they can be installed in all HYDAC filter housings from size 330 which are fitted with return line filter elements. Dimicron Elements Each of our hydraulic filtration systems are equipped with high efficiency elements to remove solid particulates and/or water quickly and efficiently. Some of the replacement elements can be found on the following pages as part of the QS program. 20 COMPACT HYDRAULICS Check & Load Control Valves The HYDAC range of direct and pilot operated check valves provide a broad selection of cartridge and inline products with operating pressure rating of up to 6000 psi (420 bar). All valves have a one piece body design and hardened balls or poppets. This provides an excellent product with reliable seating, 2 drops/minute maximum internal leakage, dirt-tolerance and long life. They are functional building elements which respond to pressure inputs, providing for switching or modulation of the flow. The choice of circuit arrangements related to the Pressure Sensing valves can simplify the circuit design and minimize the size of the manifold, thus reducing manifold cost. 21 Shuttle Valves COMPACT HYDRAULICS Ball-type poppet shut-off valve. It has two inlets (port 1 and 3) and one outlet (port 2). The inlet with the higher pressure pushes the closing element towards the other inlet. The inlet with the higher pressure is therefore always automatically connected to the outlet, and the other inlet is shut off. Leak-free shut-off Space-saving installation Solenoid Valves without Coils Poppet type solenoid valves are intended for use as load holding and blocking devices in hydraulic circuits requiring very low internal leakage. Two-way and three-way normally closed or normally open Unidirectional or bi-directional load holding and blocking valves. Tested on an automated test stand measuring internal leakage by monitoring pressure decay, not counting drops per minute providing reliable load holding and assuring minimum pressure decay at the actuator. These indicators are also available with electric switches which can be used to trigger alarms. Thermometers and thermal probes are additional options in HYDAC s line of fluid level indicators. 3 to 5 sight tubes Electric level switches available Pressurized or free flowing thermometers and temperature probes available Testpoints HYDAC series 1620, guided piston design, Test Points are compact, selfsealing couplings that provide access to hydraulic and pneumatic systems for pressure measurement to 9000 psi. Mating adapters or hose connections can be connected without loss of fluid while the system is operating. Test Points can also be used to take oil samples or to bleed air from hydraulic systems. They are available in 1620 (M16x2.0) connection threads with a variety of screw-in port configurations.
