5 1 Introduction 1.1 Document purpose Plant Control Design Handbook (PCDH) document defines standards for all ITER plant system instrumentation and control (I&C). These standards are essential in order to achieve an integrated, maintainable and affordable control system to operate ITER. This satellite document of PCDH, gives a list of COTS products recommended by ITER Organization for I&C cubicles. See Figure 1. The purpose of this catalogue is to define the list of cubicle components recommended to be used by the different plant system I&C suppliers across all the domestic agencies and their subcontractors. This catalogue shall be used for every floor standing and wall mounted I&C cubicle included in the scope of the plant system I&C. See [RD1]. 6 1.3 Cubicle documentation The complete SAREL catalogue is available THERE. The ITER standards for ITER I&C cubicles are given in this document. These ITER configurations are the result of a selection of products suitable for ITER systems. They have to be ordered as ITER references see chapter 3, completed by accessories see chapter 5. Any spare part shall be ordered separately using SAREL catalogue references and through the SAREL contact person, see section 1.5 for contact person references. 1.4 E-ordering procedures and tools A web tool will be developed by SAREL to support cubicle e-configuration and e-ordering from IO, DAs and DA suppliers for the manufacture of plant. 8 2 I&C cubicle configuration type The I&C cubicles are of two types, see [RD2]. Signal Conditioning Cubicles (SCC). SCCs house the I/O interface dedicated to signal conditioning. An SCC may include remote I/O, but there is no intelligence for controls in SCCs. Local Control Cubicles (LCC). LCCs house the plant system I&C controllers. An LCC may house signal conditioning to improve integration of I&C equipment. These two types are used in 4 configurations as detailed in [RD2] PSE1 1 A1 PSE2 SCC LCC Configuration1: The I/O interfaces (I/O cards) of the I&C controllers are connected to PSEs through signal conditioning interfaces housed in an SCC. The length of LCC SCC and SCC PSE cables have to be compliant with signal levels for EMI issues. PSE1 1 A1 PSE2 LCC + SCC Configuration2: This configuration is similar to configuration 1, but LCC and SCC are merged in order to optimise the space allocation. Lengths of LCC/SCC PSE cables have to be compliant with signal levels for EMI issues. PSE1 1 A1 PSE2 SCC + remote IO LCC Configuration3: In this configuration, the I&C controller of LCC is configured with a remote I/O rack installed in the SCC. The link between the LCC controller and the remote I/O rack may be fibre optic in the case of a long distance connection, strong EMI issues or any voltage isolation issue. PSE1 1 A1 Field bus Configuration4: In this configuration, the PSE are connected to the I&C controller by a plant system I&C fieldbus. The medium may be fibre optic. Floor standing type E for EMC protection. Wall mounted type D for EMC protection. Other specific configurations. 23 4 I&C cubicle monitoring Whatever the cubicle type and form factor; any I&C cubicle of ITER shall be monitored (PCDH rule R157). The cubicle sensors required to get the cubicle monitoring state signals are included in the cubicle standard configurations proposed in this catalogue. The monitoring system itself is out of scope of the catalogue: IO provides for free to the cubicle integrator the manufacture specifications for hardware, software and integration to the CODAC system. 4.1 Functional specifications of the monitoring system The cubicle state data to be monitored in I&C cubicles are: door position states, temperature value, high temperature alarm and cooling system state of operation. In addition, the cubicle monitoring system shall include a local display of the cubicle powering state and fault. The local monitoring of the temperature is optional. The functional specifications of the monitoring system are available in [RD3]. 4.2 Cubicle monitoring design and integration specifications Figure 11 gives a picture of the cubicle monitoring CODAC hardware configuration.
