Each product has been designed with specific features to simplify the process of network installation and solve many of the problems encountered when installing, operating and maintaining computer networks. Much attention was also paid to the appearance of the products. So much in fact that a number of IF design awards were presented to VERO Electronics in recognition of their achievements with the IMRAK family. IMRAK WALL MOUNTING IMRAK 400 The IMRAK 400 series is a range of wall mounted enclosures for office environments where a reduced amount of U height and internal depth (300 to 500mm versions) are required. The aesthetics match the IMRAK 600 and IMRAK 1400 creating a pleasing and professional looking, integrated appearance to all network components. Optional mounting, hinged and panel mounting arrangements create a variety of equipment mounting and access arrangements so that the IMRAK 400 can be used in almost all locations, no matter how seemingly inaccessible. IMRAK 600 IMRAK 600 IMRAK 600 cabinets provide an economic solution for applications when side access is not required. Aesthetically, it fits the IMRAK range with a plan size of 600 x 600mm and can be used on the same installation while maintaining the same overall visual effect. Available as freestanding or wall mounted versions, many accessories are common to the IMRAK range meaning that configuration changes can be easily accommodated both during installation and later operation and maintenance. 2 IMRAK 1400 VERAK IP & EMC CUSTOMISED IMRAK IMRAK 1400 The IMRAK 1400 range are freestanding cabinets suitable for office, equipment room and cabling closet installation. Attention to styling, with attractive two tone grey paint and green trim highlights with a smoked glass door mean that the IMRAK 1400 can be used in any office environment. However IMRAK 1400 is still an exceptionally rugged and strong cabinet enabling it to be used for all applications VERAK VERAK is the latest range of large rack systems developed by VERO Electronics. Available in IP55 and EMC screened versions, VERAK builds on the experience gained by VERO as a market leader in network applications. VERAK is available in IP55, EMC and combined IP& EMC formats in heights of 27 to 42U and 600 x 600, 600 x 800 and 800 x 800 plan sizes. The IP and EMC versions of VERAK are intended for separate markets. The IP version addresses the emergent industrial networking sectors, while the EMC version with its high level screening is suitable for the electronics and telecoms industries. VERO's extensive experience in rack manufacture has ensured that typical problems of cable access and thermal management in racks has been considered and resolved to optimise the racks performance. Consistent with VERO's integrated approach the VERAK range has been designed to accept the complete range of IMRAK internal fitting such as 19" panel mounts, cross members, cable troughs and trays and power distribution products. Where necessary most of our standard racks are easily modified to suit individual customer requirements or applications. The first & fourth hole at the front & rear of the support is tapped to allow simple panel mounting angle installation. Supplied as a pair with appropriate fixings. (When 4 panel mounting angles are required to be adjusted, two pairs of supports must be ordered). In addition to the rear panel, each kit contains 4 screws, 4 cage nuts & 4 plastic feature plugs. They may be fitted above or below (or both) either a door (glass or steel) or a rear panel. Both full and half gland plates are available. The half gland plates allow a cable entry kit to be fitted in the centre section. Light/medium duty: castors load max. 68Kg each, screwed direct into corner blocks, using 10mm threads also available as braked version. Heavy duty: castors load 115Kg each under average conditions, fitted to the rack with bolt on mounting plates. Available in braked and unbraked versions. Note: Adjustable feet cannot be used together with the light/ medium duty castor, as both use the same mounting hole. For networking applications this not only permits increased cable density compared with using two bayed 600mm wide racks. (5, 110 block towers instead of 4) but also removes the need to thread cable patch cords around the central verticals. The benefits are being able to divide one or both sides into 19" allowing the use of 110 block systems along with 19" items i.e. hubs, routers, modems etc. in the same cabinet. For example: If three racks are to be bayed together to make one suite of racks, one pair of side panels are required (to be used either end of the suite) and two baying bracket kits. IP55 GLAND PLATE Gland plates are used to IP55 seal the space in the end frame and to allow sealed cable glands to be fitted. A gland plate must be fitted to achieve the IP55 seal on the complete rack. When used in conjunction with KM6-II cardframes they allow every cardframe to be supported without loss of U height. The horizontal sections of the supports are prepunched to allow the chassis trays to be fitted without further drilling. An extra 15mm width is available when chassis supports are fitted directly to panel mounting angle supports as maximum chassis width is then 465mm.The nominal load rating is 50k g. 44 GENERAL CABINET ACCESSORIES SWING FRAMES Swing frames are designed to allow easy access to the rear of equipment, particularly when the location of the racks restricts or prohibits rear access. When racks are bayed together in suites, swing frames allow access to the side and rear of the equipment. Swing frames are available in four sizes to suit 42U high racks (usable height 39U), 37U high (usable height 34U), 22U (usable height 19U) and 17U (usable height 14U). Any swing frame may be used in a rack equal to or greater than the U mounting height dimension (eg: a 42U swing frame in a 47U rack). The smaller swing frames enable you to fit some of your equipment in a fixed position, and the rest in a swinging position. (Remember to order shelves or panel mounts for the remaining aperture). All swing frames can be pivotted in more than one position. When selecting the left hand position (see diagram position 1) the swing frame will enable 450mm deep cardframes and equipment to clear the vertical members. When the swing frame is in its left hand position, an infill panel may be used which offers extra mounting positions for switches and meters etc., as well as giving a neat and pleasing appearance to the system. Note: If an infill panel is not ordered, the swing frame will be built with the pivot in the centre position unless otherwise specified at the time of ordering. By inverting the whole system it is possible to change the swing frame to a right hand pivot system. Safe working load of the swing frame is 100kg. 45 THERMAL MANAGEMENT STANDARD FAN TRAYS Top mounted fan trays are available to aid the cooling of your equipment. These may be retrofitted to the IMRAK 1400 versions and occupy none of the usable U height. Fan trays are supplied with or without fans. Top fan trays have blanking plates fitted in all unused positions. This is a non-latching output signal and once the fan speed returns to normal the LED will be illuminated. The TTL facility will go high and the relay de-energise. This is specially true for mission critical equipment or for environments which are not covered by a premises fire protection system. The rack mounted FPU continuously monitors for smoke within the rack in the advent of a fire it cuts the power to the rack, activates alarm systems and extinguishes the fire. The incoming mains power to the rack is routed through the FPU via a 10 amp IEC female socket. The output power is also via 10 amp IEC sockets. Within the FPU are two optical smoke detectors. Two detectors are necessary because in racks, with forced air cooling, the exhaust air flows can be very laminar and two detectors are required to ensure all the exhaust air is monitored. At 3% obscurative the optical detectors trigger the protection system. Twin 10 amp relays cut power to the outlet sockets, thereby removing the source of heat and any cooling fans which otherwise would continue to expel smoke into the external environment. The audible and visual alarms operate and the alarm contacts, used for remote monitoring change state. The gas filled fire extinguisher also automatically operates flooding the rack with the extinguishant FM200. The unit is reset by a switch on the units front panel. Note, the FPU should always be mounted in the top 2U of the rack. 2U Fire protection unit C Replacement extinguisher A LIGHT This magnetically attached light is ideal for use in any environment with steel racks as it comes complete with a powerful magnet at the rear allowing easy fixing in horizontal or vertical formats. Its modern styling includes a high output, lower power consumption (11 watts) U shaped fluorescent tube which combine to give long tube life. If required the light can be fixed with screws to prevent unauthorised removal. This unit is not supplied with a plug and lead, the plug and lead should be ordered separately. 56 NETWORKING SOLUTIONS 110 TOWER UNIT A modular Tower unit has been developed for the mounting of 110 blocks and cable management blocks. The tower can either be wall mounted or installed into a 600, 800 or 1200 wide IMRAK and is available to suit 12U, 17U, 22U, 27U, 32U, 37U, 42U and 47U heights IMRAK's. The maximum number of towers that can be installed across the width of IMRAK is 2 for 600mm wide, 3 for 800mm wide and 5 for 1200mm wide. The cross members mount from the panel mount supports.
