It is up to the installer to determine if a speaker or other device can be mounted behind these vents for their specific application.

Loosen front seat bolts and slide front hump bracket assembly under

3 Loosen front seat bolts and slide front hump bracket assembly under seat mounts. Do not tighten hardware yet. Note: Add bolts as shown in next step first Insert four (4) 1/4 x 3/4" carriage bolts and plastic retaining washers into hump bracket slots as shown. Carriage bolts go up from the bottom and retaining washers will hold them in place for assembly. Note: If the passenger seat is slid all the way forward, the plastic sensor cover will touch the hump bracket. The cover can be removed and the senor should clear the bracket. Remove rear seat bolts and place rear hump bracket leg under seat mount. Do not tighten yet. (driver side) Remove rear seat bolts and place rear hump bracket leg under seat mount. Do not tighten yet. (Passenger side) Front and rear hump brackets now in place. Do not tighten to floor yet.

4 Center instrument panel. Use trim panel tool to carefully remove center trim bezel. Take note of the location of the eight (8) bezel clips to help with the careful removal. Remove the bottom control module with Auxiliary switches / 12 volt sockets. Disconnect plugs from module. Replace the center trim bezel and pull control module plugs through the lower opening. The control module tabs are too long for fitting into the new console.

5 Cut.5 (1/2 ) off the end of the tabs. Mount the control module to the underside of the console front crossover panel. Attach the control module to the studs with 8/32 nuts and flat washers. BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERTIGHTEN. Place console housing between the seats on and between the hump brackets. Run all wiring as needed. Attach forward console bracket to front hump bracket with previously installed carriage bolts and serrated nuts. Attach the accessory mounting plate to the forward bolts Don t tighten hardware yet. Attach rear sides of console to rear hump brackets with 1/4"x 3/4" carriage bolts and serrated nuts.

6 Temporarily attach a front side trim panel with #8 x 1/4" flat head screws to help determine correct location of console housing. Note: Newer consoles have Speaker / Vent slots in trim panels. Push down and tighten all hardware including seat bolts. Plug wires into control module. Mount optional C-HDM-214 (side mount pole) to existing bolts in the side of the console. Pole can mount to the outside or inside. Loosen inner pole. If mounting pole inside, remove round knockout from filler plate and attach plate with #8 Torx screws. Also attach accessory pocket with #8 torx screws. Before mounting control heads into console, you must determine the computer mount pole height and tighten inner pole. With computer mount off, wire and install forward control heads. This must be done with computer mount off so there is access to the face plate screws.
