Our machining center has many capabilities and the very latest, precision equipment. It is equipped with two (2) CNC lathes, one (1) CNC Vertical Machining Center, one (1) CNC Machining Center, a Bridgeport, three (3) tool room lathes, radial drills, surface grinders, saws and other miscellaneous equipment. We have a Starrett comparator (Model HE350), Starrett digital vernier height gages, a profi lometer, electronic vernier, and many more inspection and measuring tools. All machined products are in compliance with DOT, ASME and CGA specifi cations. In particular, our safety devices are designed, manufactured, tested and certifi ed by a Manufacturing Engineer to the requirements of CGA Pamphlet S-1.1. Combined, the Class A Machinists working at FIBA have over 100 years of experience. All FIBA parts are inspected prior to shipment. Additionally, spare parts assemblies for specialty gas applications are subjected to a pneumatic leaktest. Pneumatic leaktesting of assemblies for industrial gas applications as well as other testing or cleaning procedures for parts and assemblies intended for all gas services are options available at additional cost. FIBA s bullplug with welded disk cartridge is designed for nonliquefi ed gas service and offers PRD shear off protection. This part includes a bullplug, and a welded PRD plug, and is installed with an o-ring. To minimize the potential for leaks, rather than using threads or gaskets on this part, FIBA instead welds all joints in contact with the process gas. FIBA's Monel bullplug with pressure relief device (PRD) plug is manufactured from Monel (alloy 400), but can be special ordered in other materials and confi gurations. This part is designed for 22" outside diameter tubes and contains a bullplug, copper washer, shear disk, and PRD cluster plug. The inlet is 2.750"-8 UN and it has several outlet options. 42 M25 Series Pressure Relief Device Integrated Bullplug / Valve Assembly Bill of Materials Assembly Instructions 1. Apply 3 dabs of lubricant around the perimeter of the lower plug threads, approximating the size of a pencil eraser for each. Locate lubricant toward the lower most threads closest to the crimped seat but using care not to get lubricant on the nylon seat. Use Braycote 803 lubricant. 2. Being careful not to damage the bonnet sealing surface in the valve body, install the new lower plug into the chamber, seat fi rst and tighten using a square drive until it is fully seated. 3. Engage the new bonnet and stem subassembly into the valve body and hand tighten by turning clockwise. Rotate stem square until it becomes engaged in the lower plug. 4. Using an 11/16" hex socket and torque wrench, tighten the bonnet to ft. lbs. NOTE: A properly calibrated torque wrench must be used. Over torquing will damage the bonnet. 5. Place the handwheel over the stem square. Thread the handwheel nut onto the stem thread and tighten to in. lbs. 6. 79 Vaporizer Automatic Switching Systems This system features two Worcester Controls cryogenic ball valves (Model C4416PMSE) with Series 75 electrical actuator model 1075W. Maximum fl ows, considering liquid oxygen at 75 psi inlet, are: 1 valve-21.0 GPM and 1-1/2 valve-53.2 GPM. Also featured is a 10 x 12 NEMA-4 electrical control panel with weather-proof enclosure, one system-ready indicator light, and an adjustable interval timing relay, with a range from minutes to hours. A low temperature switch on the downstream gas side of the system is optional. Tube Trailer and Skid Container Fill Stanchions OTHER PARTS AND ACCESSORIES FIBA designs, manufactures and installs fi ll stanchions for the compressed gas manufacturers, distributors, and end users. We can supply a simple, single-zone system, which includes an anodized aluminum frame, rigid piping, check valve, master valve, purge valve, pressure gauge, fl exible hose and fi ll connection or we can provide highly sophisticated, multiple zone systems. We can design stanchions for a single gas or multiple gases. Our stanchions are customized for the particular application so that the required gas fl ow is met and the materials used to build the system are compatible with the gas service. A variety of hose lengths and types are available to meet the customer s needs and gas service. The basic system is manufactured with the following components: fi ll stanchion, base plate, fi ll hose (synfl ex, 15 long hose fabricated with nylon lining, polyurethane cover and spring-guard casing and rated for 3,500 psig), Stauff clamps, pressure gauge, Sch. 80 stainless steel pipe, station valve for purging (it is equipped with a vent line that extends above the top of the stanchion), master valve, check valve, miscellaneous elbows, tees, and other fi ttings. As an option, the fi ll stanchion can also be equipped with a fi lter and pressure regulator. You would be interested in adding these two accessories if you were using high pressure ASME storage. The regulator would prevent overfl ow and the fi lter is strongly recommended to prevent contamination of the regulator. 81 Pressure Reducing Stations A FIBA Pressure Reducing Station is an accessory for on site, ASME or DOT storage receiver assemblies. It is designed to regulate the fl ow of gas from the storage to the end user s process application. A simple one-regulator system maintains a constant gas pressure and fl ow. A two-regulator system insures an uninterrupted fl ow of gas by using both a primary and a reserve storage. Alternatively, a second regulator can function as a backup. Our stations can be equipped with valves, safeties, gauges, regulators, check valves and any other accessories that the customer may require. All components are typically enclosed within a weather-tight box. The entire assembly is pressure tested before shipment to insure a leak-tight seal. 83 Priority Fill Systems FIBA's priority fi ll systems effi ciently allocate gas to the desired location. Zoned Cascade Systems OTHER PARTS AND ACCESSORIES We recommend using a 3 or 4-zone, electrical auto-cascade system because it makes operation of the storage receiver(s) and/or trailers as simple as possible. It allows the ASME receivers, DOT assembly, trailer, compressor, and cylinders to interact in the most effi cient manner - thus maximizing your product usage and minimizing your gas product residual and compressor running time. Functioning automatically and sequentially, the system will pressure-transfer more than half of the gas - about 55% - into cylinders or storage before start-up of the off-loading compressor. This is accomplished without the use of individual cylinder hand-valves and it allows the specifi c selection of gas pressure into the building so that the performance of the compressor(s) being used is optimized by using suction pressures best suited for a particular machine. 85 Ton Container Pallets FIBA designs, manufactures, tests and marks ton containers in compliance with DOT standards. These tubes, used for transportation of smaller quantities of industrial and specialty gases, can be serviced at any of our four US facilities. Along with our DOT tubes, these too can be certifi ed in compliance with both the U.S. DOT 3AA specifi cation and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard Separately, FIBA manufactures custom designed pallets to safely secure ton containers while in transit or while stationary. The pallets help protect the valves and pressure relief devices and fork lift pockets on both sides and ends allow fork lifts or pallet jacks to easily transport and move the containers. Gas Dispensing Systems Pallets can be coated to a customers colors or galvanized for corrosion protection. 87 Manifold Systems FIBA Technologies, Inc. has skilled welders and state-of-the-art welding and cleaning equipment to build manifolds that will meet the customer s specifi cations and quality performance criteria. Whether you need a manifold for a tube trailer or cylinder fi lling system operating at 2,400 psig or an ASME receiver assembly operating at 10,000 psig, FIBA can provide the product. We manufacture basic high pressure manifolds using stainless steel or brass material welded using GTAW and silver brazing processes, but we also fabricate specialty manifolds. For oxygen applications up to 3,000 psig, we typically use specially cleaned brass. For oxygen service up to 5,000 psig, we fabricate our manifolds with monel. For ultra high purity applications, we use electropolished materials and for corrosive applications we use Hastelloy material. For these ultra high purity applications, we can also offer a manifold fabricated by our orbital welding machine. For other extremely hazardous products we have included computer controlled, pneumatic actuators in our manifold systems for remote operation of the valves! The cleanliness of our products is insured by a custom designed, automatic, internal cleaning system that is environmentally friendly. All of our manifolds can be incorporated into an automatic cascade fi lling system that is customized for particular situations. We install them on-board trailers, at ASME storage sites, and alongside the compressor and cylinder fi lling manifolds.
