12 installation instructions preparing the cubicles before assembling the switchboard Delivery state: earthing switch in the closed position :screw+washer : screw + washer + nylstop E D B A Remove front panel A followed by pads B. (screws cannot be re---used) Remove the cover of monitoring compartment C and the eye bolts D and crossbeams E. C H G Remove part G (4 screws). Remove part H (7 screws). fitting the end plate preparation (only if the cubicle is at the end of the switchboard) Bag of screws S4: (HM 6 x 12 screws only). Inthecaseofextensionwith equipment manufactured before the 02/02/95, you must replace the end plate of the existing substation. Mount 10 cage nuts on the cubicles at the end of the switchboard EN revision : 01 11

13 Introduce the cage nut outside the cubicle into the specially designed rectangular hole. 2 Topple the cage nut inside the cubicle. 3 Pushthecagenutin the direction of the arrow to place thetoppartofthecagebehind the plate. 4 The nut is now correctly placed. Position the end plate. Mount the screws on the cage nuts. Mount the screws with the nylstop nuts. Direction for mounting the screw and the nylstop nut. (nut inside the cubicle) Secure the 2nd end plate in the same way EN revision : 01

14 assembling the switchboard bag of screws S1 : (HM 6x16 screws) : screw + washers + nut M K L top view Secure the cubicles to each other (the remaining screws are intended to mount the earth busbar). K Bolt mounting direction K :lefthandcubicle L : righthand cubicle M : to join the 2 cubicles. Screw HM6x60 to tighten moderately Tightening torque : 6 Nm. 16 Version < 12 kv V Mount the busbars and the screws. Tightening torque : 28 Nm. Lock the screws V fastening the connection Us, after having mounted all the busbars. Tightening torque : 28 Nm. Version > 12 kv The remaining screws are not used. Correctly position the field distributors on the connection Us. (use the polarising slots to lock them in place) Incorrect mounting. Cubicle equipped with a LV trunking (optional). Proceed in the same manner after dismantling the upper plate of the trunking. Put back the cover of the monitoring compartment: comply with reference marking for each cubicle EN revision : 01

18 positioning the earth busbar bag of screws S1: The earth busbars are connected to one another. (HM 8x35 screws) 2 ways of connecting to the earth of the substation frames. connecting the MV cables AV AV 1 cable by phase: Mount the cable---flanges on the 3 bottom plates 1, 2 and 3. (plate n 1 is already in place) H bag of screws S3: HM 6 x16 screws. The remaining screws are intended for cable flanging. 2cablesbyphase: Mount the cable---flanges on the 3 bottom plates 1, 2 and 3. (plate n 1 is already in place) H bag of screws S3: HM 6 x16 screws. Part of the remaining screws are intended for cable flanging. 2 3 NB : plates 2 and 3 must be secured as shown above EN revision : 01 17

19 Install the cable bushing. 1cableperphase: ConnectthecableonphaseL1. The screws are permanent. 2cablesbyphase: Connect the cables on phase L1. The screws are permanent. Use a torque wrench to lock the cable in place. Tightening torque : 50 Nm. Flange the cable(s). (HM 8x50 screw) EN revision : 01

H mount phases L2 and L3 following the same instructions as phase L1. securing the insulating screens NB: for simplicity s sake, the cables and bottom plates are not shown. Secure the support insulating screen to the left in the cubicle, 4screws. Putbackthefrontpanel. operating the device with power off Carry out a few operations of the earthing switch. energising the MV incoming cables Theearthingswitchmustbeinthe open position. 23 voltage indicator Incoming cubicle : On energisation of the upstream part of the installation, the voltage indicator lamps must come one. Outgoing cubicle : Once the line disconnector and the circuit---breaker have been moved to the closed position, the voltage lamps come on. PDU: old version of the voltage indicator installed on SM6 cubicles previous to L. VPIS: voltage presence Indicating system installed on SM6 cubicles later than L. phase balance adaptater Note: the monitoring devivce is thesameasthatusedby the RM6 equipment. Note: inthecaseofacontrol between old presence of tension and new VPIS to use the adaptater : FA Phase comparator of the simplified type. In phase balance : H the comparator lamp does not come on. In phase unbalance: H the comparator lamp comes on. cable test intervention Phase marking or current injection for fault tracking. H close the earthing switch H open the front panel H fit the spring tie A B front panel Secure vice A against the earthing rod and connect the earthing device on the 3 shafts of the lugs of cables B. Then open the earthing switch to perform the cable insulation test. Cross--- section of cubicle, bottom view EN revision : 01

24 operating instructions operations and visualising the cubicle status Position the lever as shown for downward opening operations. Position the lever as shown for upward closing operations. Opening the earthing switch. Closing the earthing switch after checking voltage status (see voltage presence). padlocking Padlock the earthing switch in the open or closed position by 1, 2 or 3 diameter 8 mm padlock(s). 25 keylocking Consult the keylocking installation and operating manual n operating safety The front panel can only beremovedorfittedwhen the earthing switch is closed EN revision : 01

26 maintenance instructions preventive maintenance, cleaning instructions and power --- up If necessary: contact the Schneider Electric group service centre. We strongly recommend that you carry out at regular intervals (at least roughly every 2 years) afew operating cycles on the switching devices. CAUTION Never lubricate the disconnector operating mechanism. If necessary: contact the Schneider Electric group service centre. In normal operating conditions (temperature between C and40 C) no special maintenance is required. CAUTION Never use solvents and alcohol. We recommend that you inspect each compartment (cable, fuse, busbar)* at regular intervals according to environmental conditions. Ifthewindowsaredusty,thatyou remove the dust using a dry cloth. example : In harsher conditions (aggressive atmosphere, dust, temperature less than C or greater than 40 C) consult the nearest Schneider Electric service centre EN revision : 01 25

27 replacing a voltage indicator module on cubicle former to L Manually extract the voltage indicator: the switchboard may be energised. replacing a voltage indicator pack type VPIS sur cellule postérieure à L removing This operation is possible with the switch energised. Disassemble the 2 screws (A) fixing the voltage indicator pack A B Extract the voltage indicator pack and disconnect the connector (B) at its rear. C fitting On the characteristics label (C) check that the new pack matches the rated voltage for your network. H 1,7 kv to 3 kv H 3kVto7,2kV H 10 kv to 24 kv Fit the new voltage indicator pack in the opposite direction to disassembly. Tightening torque: 0,1 mdan anomaly/solution switchboard H the voltage presence indicator does not light up. H the incoming cables are not energised. H check the lamp boxes. H the front panel does not open or cannot be fitted. H check that the earthing switch is closed EN revision : 01

29 recovery of SF6 gas at end of life for disconnector cubicle The SF6 must be removed before any dismantling operation can be carried out in compliance with the procedures described in IEC and according to the following instructions. The gas must be treated in compliance with IEC H volume of gas to be recovered: 35 litres H internal gauge pressure: 40 kp A NB : SF6 gas recycling at the end of circuit-- breaker life, refer to its instruction for use. Remove the cover (A) from the control cabinet. control cover access B Remove the control cover (B). Remove the 3 screws retaining the operating mechanism. Cut the wiring to remove the operating mechanism. Drill 2 holes in the filler valve safety cap 4 mm, centreline 20 mm, max. depth 4 mm EN revision : 01

30 CAUTION pump the gas for at least 15 minutes. C Using a spanner wrench, remove the safety cap from the valve. Connect the special pumping equipment (C) EN revision : 01 29
