I had asked Sharon to hold off putting it out until some issues were resolved. Those have now been taken care of so here s the March newsletter, but late than never. The month of February was another successful month for our club. We held several events and had a great turnout at all of them. The breakfast get together on Feb. 5 th at the Lafayette Firehouse and the Brewery Tour at AB-INBEV was well attended. We had a guest speaker, Dr. Wendell Smith describe the trading card program with the Museum of Transportation. There seemed to be a lot of interest with the members in attendance about getting involved with this kids program. On Friday night, Feb. 18 th a large group of our members gathered at Ted Drewes for some tasty treats and good old Bs ing. We had a great turnout for this last minute get together. We had some new members make the cruise down from North County. Jake and Laura Hillebrand drove down in their 2003 Cobra Coupe. There was a lot of interesting tales being told in the parking lot as everyone enjoyed the best custard in the Midwest. Our next event for February was the cruise over to Gallagher s in Waterloo, Illinois for an all you can eat chicken dinner. We had over 40 members participate with about 20 cars in the caravan over. We signed up a new member, Rick Kastanetz and promptly made a trip over to his place to look at all the vintage cars and auto memorabilia he has collected over the years. You can check the website for additional pictures of the day s activities. We will again be involved w i t h t h e M u s t a n g Roundup at the Museum of Transportation on Saturday April 2 nd. This e v e n t i s h e l d i n conjunction with their Train Your Brain bookfair on the same weekend. We are looking f o r e v e r y o n e s participation in this great event. So please make some time available to bring your pony out get involved with the club. Our second annual car show is fast approaching on Saturday, June 18 th at the Museum of Transportation. I m looking for all of our members to get involved and help put on a great show. The potential is there for this to really be a BIG show. We re looking for sponsors along with goody bag stuffers and attendance prize donations. If your new to the club and what it takes to put on a car show please don t hesitate to ask me or any other board member. We can get you up to speed very quickly. The Activities Committee has been very busy planning out the rest of this year s events. There will be some additional items added to the Club Calendar section of the website in the near future. Please check back often for those updates. One last thing, if you haven t renewed your club membership please do so by the end of March. This will probably be the last newsletter you ll receive if your dues aren t paid. I d hate to see anybody miss out on all of the upcoming activities that are being planned. 3 Page 3 LAFAYETTE FIRE COMPANY NO. 1- A1 FIREHOUSE GRILL February 5, 2011 AH Brewery Tour and Clydesdale Camera Day Regardless o f a s u r p r i s e o v ern ight s n o w s h o w e r, m a n y M C S T L m e m b e r s met for breakfast in historic Lafayette Square at the Lafayette Fire Company. Members enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and were able to support the Backstoppers by rounding their breakfast checks to the nearest whole dollar to benefit them and the burn victims unit. The club hosted Dr. Wendell Smith as the guest s p e a k e r, a volunteer with the M u s e u m o f Transportation, to share details of t h e i r k i d s programs and how our club can support them and their association with the Museum. He explained the MOT card club whose purpose is to encourage kids interest in cars as a hobby and why it is so important to get kids involved. You can check the museums website for the kids site which is kidscardclub.org. If you would like details on how you can participate in the trading card program or to order your own trading cards, please contact Terry Hunter at terryhunter61@msn.com. Trading cards for all members will use the same template. Trading cards can be ordered up to March 11 for delivery in time for the Mustang Round-Up. Each participating Breakfast was followed by a AH Brewery Tour and a visit to stables f o r C l y d e s d a l e Camera Day. All the MCSTL members were in awe of the beautiful Clydesdales.

4 Page 4 GALLAGHER S RESTAURANT CHICKEN CRUISE February 27, 2011 Temps were starting to rise and MCSTL members just couldn t resist getting the ponies out to stretch their legs as they dream of spring when the warm days will bring lots of activities and opportunities to run. After being cooped up all winter in the garage, members met at Ted Drewes for ice cream on Friday night, February 18. Check out the MCSTL sponsored Flat Mustang Project on the website mustangclubofstl.com. Members young and old from Mustang Clubs from all across the country can participate. Mustang MCSTL Flat Mustang patiently p i c t u r e s c a n be waiting for dinner at Gallaghers downloaded from the site and customized. The Flat Mustang can be shown visiting various events and locations and then the pictures are shared with MCSTL where they are displayed at events and on the website. The Mustang Club of St. Louis had reservations at noon for the Top of the Town dining area located on the 3rd floor of the restaurant reserved for special events. The restaurant lived up to their reputation being voted by the Post Dispatch as having the best fried chicken in the area.

5 Page FORD MUSTANG BOSS 302 GETS RACING TRACKEY Just the Facts: 2012 Mustang Boss 302 can be fitted with a new aftermarket TracKey that provides full race calibration and twostage launch control. TracKey was developed by Ford Racing and the Mustang engineering team. It's an aftermarket option from Ford dealers. Just something for MCSTL members, the Nahliks, to consider DEARBORN, Michigan Want to race that Mustang and then drive it peacefully home? Ford dealers can help you with that. The 2012 Mustang Boss 302 can be fitted with a new aftermarket TracKey that provides full race calibration and two-stage launch control, all without threatening the factory warranty. Ford has created a dual-path powertrain control module an industry first, it says that lets the racing application exist alongside a street application in the same car. Ford says it was dreamed up during "an all-night garage brainstorming session among core Mustang team members" and adds that a patent is pending on the technology. The TracKey powertrain control software is accessed using a specially programmed vehicle key. It "coexists" with the original Boss software and key, so the driver can choose between street or track use simply by selecting which key to put into the ignition. The TracKey is red, while the standard Mustang Boss 302 key is black. TracKey was developed by Ford Racing and the Mustang engineering team. The TracKey powertrain control module alters more than 200 engine management parameters to increase torque, add aggression to the throttle response, preserve brakes when decelerating and do lots of other track-friendly things. There's also a two-stage launch control feature "similar to that used on the Cobra Jet racecar," Ford notes, which lets the driver set the tachometer needle to a desired launch rpm for better acceleration and vehicle control from a standing start. When using the Mustang with the black key, the factory engine settings are restored for street driving, says Ford. It'll be available through Ford Racing authorized dealers, but pricing has not yet been announced. Inside Line says: The image of the devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other, symbolized by the red and black car keys, does come to mind. Laura Sky Brown, Correspondent

The club holds monthly meetings and additional social events throughout the year. The $20.00 annual dues include a monthly newsletter, Unbridled, free classified advertising in the newsletter, an invitation to all club activities, and the friendship of a great group of people with a common interest in all Ford Mustangs.
