Dan Dionne, Jerry Robinson, Larry Rafferty, John Bergler, Gary Weaver, Margaret Rawson, and a host of others are ready to make April an amazing month. I would like to encourage you to have a look at the Calendar on our website (LasVegasCLC.com). There are over 700 car activities in the Las Vegas valley and nationally through our national Cadillac & LaSalle Club. These activities are for you... IF you want to go. We are trying to identify anything car related that we think you would be interested in attending. If you see something you think we'd all enjoy, please our activities coordinator Dan Dionne (Dan@LasVegasCLC.com). April 21, 28 and the 29th are all fun activities related to Cadillac Through The Years (CTTY). The 21st is The Car Show at Rexmore and Eastern at 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. The 28th is our Speed Vegas experience at 7:30 to 9:30 am. They'll have prizes and awards AND all the Cadillacs will be able to take laps around the track. The 29th of April is our Cadillac Through The Years event at the Town Square. Cadillacs from every decade and a fire engine for the kids and fire extinguisher demonstrations for the rest of us. Classics, restored, modifieds and a few surprises will be there. The cost to register your car is $20 (member) for one or more cars. The registration form is in this newsletter, on our website and on the event itself in our Calendar. In all this month is going to be our month for activities. We hope each of you can join us and even display your car. Picnic: Do not forget the picnic on Sunday May 6. Each year prior to Cadillac Through The Years, you can see how the classics looked in a showroom! Chosen in an internal competition for a 1952 concept vehicle celebrating the company's golden anniversary, the name Eldorado was proposed by Mary-Ann Marini (née Zukosky), a secretary in Cadillac's merchandising department and was subsequently adopted for a limited-edition convertible for model year The original 1953 Eldorado convertible and the Eldorado Brougham models of were the most expensive models that Cadillac offered those years Biarritz name continued through Beginning 1965, the Eldorado became the 'Fleetwood Eldorado'. 'Biarritz' returned as an up level trim package for the Eldorado for For the tenth and last generation ( ) the car was sold under Cadillac ETC (Eldorado Touring Coupe) and ESC (Eldorado Sport Coupe). In 2001 GM announced that the Eldorado's 50th model year (2002) would be its last. To mark the end of the nameplate, a limited production run of 1,596 cars in red or white the colors available on the original 1953 convertible were produced in three batches of 532, signifying the Eldorado's first year of production. These last cars featured specially tuned exhaust notes imitating their forerunners from a half-century earlier, and a dash-mounted plaque indicating each car's sequence in production.
