8 ALL SEASON COMBINATION DUMP BODY/SPREADER and PLOW EQUIPMENT Ontario O.E.M. Manufacturer to be ISO Registered & Installed in Ontario 1. GENERAL These specifications described an All Season Combination Dump Body and Sand/Salt Spreader. The dump box shall remain stationary on the chassis frame while spreading. Rear discharge shall be front hoist tilt action as per conventional dump bodies. The unit will be oval shaped to permit gravity flow unloading. The main conveyor will be centred and recessed along the length of the box. The cross conveyor will be chassis frame mounted and shall be positive belt drive and bi-directional with R.H poly lined material chute. SPECIFY: Viking model Proline 1415 HW-HT Hi-Tensile Hardox 450 steel or approved equivalent. MAKE: MODEL : The bidder will arrange a working demonstration of any unit offered as an approved equivalent at the municipality s location prior to the tender closing date. 2. DIMENSIONS To provide optimum combination of legal payload and capacity all dimensions below are maximum/minimum and will be exactly as specified. Body shall be smooth rolled oval shaped- no breaks or formed bends, permitting materials to unload by gravity, flow into spreading positions. Total weight of the complete body assembly in ready to work condition including hoist, tarp, tailgate, cross conveyor, main conveyor and all other required components not to exceed 7,595 lbs. SPECIFY: LBS. Water level capacity will be 14.0 cu. yd. 10" Hardwood sideboards painted black Water level capacity with 10" sideboards will be 17.0 cu. yd. Outside length 15' minimum. HOIST Hoist shall be a front mounted top lift nitrated three (3) stage telescopic with 5 ½ bore. Hoist class shall be 80/30 ton. Cylinder stroke shall be 330 cm (130") minimum Dump box tipping angle shall be 50 degrees. The front head of the body will be completely clean and clear of any type of recesses or protrusions into the body including hoist dog house, bulkhead, etc. Hinge Dia. shall be 2.5" with grease fittings and integral body prop. Hoist control valve shall be air operated. 4. TAILGATE Tailgate height shall be double acting. Tailgate height shall be 55" from conveyor floors. Tailgate shall be U shaped. Construction shall be of 3/16" Hardox 450 steel with 3/16" formed cross bracing Specify:

10 Latch mechanism for the tailgate shall be air trip and latch using two air pot boosters, complete with bolt on brake pot chamber covers with in cab control. Spreader chains and brackets shall be supplied on tailgate and rear post. Chains shall be grade 70 coil proof 3/8" minimum. Tailgate will include asphalt door with adjustable cantilever handle to outer curbside of body. 5. MAIN CONVEYOR The main conveyor shall be recessed along the length of dump box floor, rear conveyor or cover screen to be pinned on - not bolted. The conveyor chain shall be a minimum of 30,000 lbs. tensile strength self cleaning pintle chain. ½" x 1 ½" cross flights welded to every 2 nd. link (approx.4 ½ ) The main conveyor shall be a single 25:1 high efficiency planetary drive with high torque low speed motor. This drive shall deliver IN/LB torque intermittent with IN/LB constant. Planetary drive close coupled to main conveyor shaft. Specify make and model of planetary. MAKE: MODEL: The flow control gate between main and cross shall be screw adjustable by hand crank from drivers side of dump body and have a gate height calibration sticker. The cross conveyor shall be a positive rubber belt drive, bi-directional cross conveyor with right hand poly lined material chute. The cross conveyor shall be hydraulic direct drive. The main conveyor will be a minimum of 25" in width measured from the outside to the outside of the convey or chain link. To provide optimum safety and the lowest possible centre of gravity the conveyor bed will measure a minimum of 33 ½" measured from side to side The unit must be capable of spreading and discharging A gravel via the main conveyor, cross conveyor and spinner chute, without clogging, jamming or other such problems and the manufacture will warranty the unit as suitable for this operation and application.

11 The main conveyor cover will be manufacture from 3/16" Hardox 450 steel and will bolt into place for summer use. The conveyor floor will be 1/4" Hardox ,000 > 203,000 P.S.I. Cross conveyor table to have extended poly guarding front and rear to prevent material from falling onto hoist frame saddle and onto chassis frame. Flush hose attachment for washing. Cross conveyor table assembly to be prepped and painted Imron 5000 Elite SS Medium Gloss BLACK. 6. SPINNER A polyurethane spinner and poly lined chute shall be installed on the left hand side (driver side) to spread ahead of rear wheels. Spinner disc will be hydraulic direct drive. To provide a Grote 6" spinner light with switch in cab. Anti-coning device on spinner assembly. Fold down window salt chute for spinner assembly. Swing up and lock horizontal storage position plus Safeway S70 dripless quick couplers for ease of removal. Assembly to be square tube mounted to chassis and round tube for spinner assembly for ease of removal. Spinner height shall be adjustable to accommodate various chassis heights and capable of a discharge rate from 100 lbs./lane mile to 2,500 lbs./lane mile. 7. SANDER CONTROLS Bosch-Rexroth CS520 electronic spreader controller (2 section valve / spinner and conveyors) supplied and installed below controls on swivel pedestal between seats. The regulator to be pressure compensated so that the selected flow will not change as load or engine speed changes. MP Filtri H.P. 10 Micron Absolute Filter Assembly A by-pass switch to be provided to start or stop the spreader without changing the settings. 8. FENDERS Body mounted aluminum fenders pinned to underside of body to suit 56" spread and to provide cover for wheels and protect body.

12 Mud flaps shall be provided fore and aft of rear wheels frame mounted. Mudflaps not mounted to aluminum fenders. 9. PAINT The dump body shall be shot blasted and epoxy zinc primed. Finish paint acrylic urethane - Imron 5000 Elite SS Baked Finish Yellow match to Cab & Chassis. Dupoint N6661-HP Shell Yellow. Top of integral steel body fenders including side rub rails and face of rear body corner posts to be Line X d. colour coded to match body. 10. LOAD COVER An air tarp, mesh style shall be standard equipment with in cab switch, dual air cylinders and 1 ½ x 1 ½ tubular steel dog legged tarp arms to allow loader access. In-cab switch on floor pedestal. 11. LIGHTS AND WIRING Lights and wiring shall be completely sealed with corrosion and vapour proof lamps and electrical junction boxes. Auxiliary relay box. All electrical junction boxes to be mounted at B.O.C. above frame. For improved rear visibility rear lamps to be rectangular mounted in rear corner posts within 3" of the outside of the tailgate. Light and Wiring kit shall be Grote Ultra blue seal only and include Grote L.E.D. lights, junction box and wiring. Grote 6" backup light at rear of body hooked into O.E.M reverse switch. LED lights in rear corner posts of dump box shall be stop, turn, tail, backup - 3 sets of lights each side. Two raised detachable MTO upper body plug in aluminum light poles at rear top corners of body to include stop, tail, directional, upper reads and flashing blue and amber. Two Grote L.E.D. flood / spot lights - aimed at ground one light each tree - hooked into O.E.M. reverse switch. 4" amber and 4" blue LED strobe in stainless steel boxes, mounted at rear of chassis frame with separate in cab switches. Separate Amber and Blue Star 200A Strobe Lights mounted at front behind cab on adjustable pole marked switches on cable pedestal. Amber and Blue Grote strobe light each side of gate at top upper corners of body. All LED Blue strobe on separate switch

13 All LED Amber Strobe on separate switch License plate mount and light up on rear body x-member drivers side. Note: All lighting and electrical add on circuits to be protected through H.D. electronic solenoid in control box, key activated. Do not re-install O.E.M. Tail Lights. Ship loose in truck cab. 12. HYDRAULICS All fittings, valves hoses and drive shaft shall be supplied and installed. All hoses shall be equipped with swivels on both ends and be two wire, 3 ½" bend rating, min. 4500>5300 PSI., degree temperature rated. The hydraulic reservoir shall be 35 US Gallons minimum to supply necessary oil supply. Reservoir must not interfere with the box installation. A sight temperature gauge to allow easy checking of the hydraulic oil level in the reservoir shall be supplied. The hydraulic controls in cab shall be designed to swivel and adjust on a mounted pedestal. Under cab floor stiffener plate for swivel pedestal. 13. PINTLE HOOK Heavy duty pintle hook plate rated >30,000 lb. MGTW with frame reinforcing and 2 safety chain loops. Holland PH400AR11 100,000 lb. MGTW air cushioned hook installed at lunette height (level ground to bottom inside of hook. Hook to have separate in-cab control on floor pedestal for air plunger. Install O.E.M. 7 wire electrical plug and Viking switched out Traction Tech #9311 #9312 swing away glad hands into face plate. Angle iron bracket over top of hook with small rubber flap to prevent dirt building up on hook. Prep and paint pintle hook plate assembly Imron 5000 Elite SS Medium Gloss BLACK.

14 SNOW PLOW TRUCK HARNESS Viking VCL500T tilt harness. Specify: Hydraulic tilt front plow harness with in cab control functions. Quick attach plow push frame pockets. The design and construction of the truck harness shall be in compliance with M.T.O. standard ES-401, or be of equivalent design approved by M.T.O. The harness shall be mounted at the front end of the frame and be bolted to the compatible ½ cheek plates. Fasteners attaching cheek plates to chassis frame rails will be minimum grade 8 N.C. hex head bolts. The lifting frame shall be bolted to the push plate and shall be braced to conform with M.T.O. standards. Two mounting locations in lift yoke cylinder winter operation position and stored summer position. Three grab links shall be supplied. Lifting Ram Diameter - 4" D.A. minimum. Lifting Ram Stroke - shall be 10" minimum. SPECIFY: SPECIFY: The cylinder rod shall be fully chrome plated. Drive ears shall be 30 ½ " centre to centre. Height to lower drive connection shall be 19" when mounted, truck empty. Five grab links shall be supplied. Male Coupler: male hinged swing arm and its enclosed rigid mounting bracket shall form as integral assembly and is to be fitted to the side cheek plate. The assembly remains permanently with the vehicle even after the female coupler has been detached.

15 The swing arm is to be operated by two double acting hydraulic lock / unlock cylinders with remote controls at front drivers side corner of chassis. Air control switches in steel enclosure for locking / unlocking cylinder pins. Cylinders specifications: 2 ½ piston diameter, 1 1/8 piston chromed piston rod diameter with 6 stroke. All structural steel plate used in the plow harness will be 44W complying with CSA G Tensile strength will be KSI and the minimum yield strength will be 44 KSI. Hydraulic quick coupler on angled manifold mounting plate at front of truck to have Safeway S70 drip less quick couplers with plugs all lines to be colour tagged for ease of hook up. Two sealed beams Halogen type headlamps with high and low beam shall be supplied including twin signals with plow headlight relay board and in-dash headlight switch. Right front helper spring shall be provided. 5,000 lb. capacity Aeon Rubber shall be used and shall be easily removable. The plow lights and signals shall be equipped with Quick-Tack ends. All hydraulic hoses and wiring shall be adequately supported to ensure that wear and sag is completely eliminated The front plow harness shall tilt forward to allow the hood to tilt over centre of its pivots and stay open without the need of any additional supports. The harness will be supplied with two double acting hydraulic cylinders, one cylinder to perform the plow lift function and a second separate cylinder used to perform the tilt function exclusively with in cab control. 2 Par 36 #64123 yellow fog lights with chrome bezels on top of harness with in cab switch The tilt cylinder will be 2 ½ " with a 6" stroke and the cylinder rod shall be fully chromed.

16 License plate mount at top of harness drivers side. Harness assembly prepped and painted Imron 5000 Elite SS Medium Gloss BLACK. Front bumper to be cut and re-installed to chassis. A parts manual shall be supplied with unit(s).

17 SNOW PLOW EQUIPMENT - 9' ONE WAY SNOW PLOW VIKING VCL 135 HSE-9 or equivalent. Specify: This one way snow plow shall conform with the provisions of M.T.O. standards ES-414, except that the dimensions of this specification shall prevail when the two contradict. The plow shall operate effectively and without modification with the M.T.O. snow plow truck harness ES-401. The weight of the plow shall range from 2,000 to 2,300 lbs. and shall be constructed to prevent the accumulation of water in any area. Specify: All ribs shall be of one piece construction 100% welded both sides of the mouldboard. The top edge of the mouldboard shall be manufactured of 2 ½ " x 2 ½ " angle iron and welded securely to the ribs and mouldboard with a continuous bead. All other welds must also be 100%. Hydraulic tilt moldboard with angle rod indicator to include in-cab tilting lever. The mouldboard brace rod shall be adjustable for plow angles of 45 degree, 50 degree and 55 degree. Holes in drive bars for push frame shall be 1 1/4 " diameter. The height of the mouldboard at the top of curve shall be as follows: Intake: 35" min. Specify: Discharge: 64" min. 18 There shall be eight vertical ribs, 3 ½ " high by 3/8" thick. Minimum weld between the mouldboard and rib shall be 100% weld each side. The bottom rail on the mouldboard shall be 5" x 3" x ½" angle below with a 3" x 2" x 3/8" gussets shall be welded between the two legs of the bottom angle, between each bolthole, except for the two sets of end holes and between two holes in the middle of the mouldboard. The mouldboard shall be continuously welded to the bottom rails. Sleeved moldboard safety check cable shall be installed for plow to push frame to prevent plow from going over center if moldboard pin malfunctions Fluorescent orange plow marker on each end of plow installed 12" x ½" rubber deflector bolted across mold board to be installed Moldboard cutting edge to be CARBIDE tipped VBL VAL STRIP hardened plate with nose piece and 3 plow edge shoes Trip link safety mechanism shall be incorporated the blade mechanism must return to the normal plowing position automatically. Trip springs must be secured with lock nuts. Two separate lift chains shall be used and these shall pick upon the drive frame at points approximately 48" apart. These lift chains shall be ½" dia. minimum. Grade 70 Specify: The height of the shoes shall be adjustable as shown on M.T.O. ES Height adjustable one way snow plow shoe holder. The shoes shall oscillate. The mouldboard shall be formed in the shape of a smooth curve no breaks or formed bends. A sturdy eye ½" thickness shall be provided at the centre of gravity for handling of the mouldboard. Quick attach swivel shall be supplied. Sleeved mold board check cable. The design and quality shall meet M.T.O. requirements.

19 The complete snow plow unit shall be prepped and painted Imron 5000 Elite SS Medium Gloss BLACK. A spare parts manual shall be supplied. A signed manufacturer s warranty shall be supplied.

20 FRONT MOUNT PUMP The hydraulic pump supplied shall be front mounted 90cc Sauer Danfoss variable displacement pump with Bosch Rexroth AISV shut off over ride function. Pump mounting plate and splined, machined and balanced tube drive shaft shall be supplied. The pump shall be driven from the crankshaft. The pump shall have a manufacturer s R.P.M. rating equivalent or higher than that of the truck engine at governed speed. Hydraulic hoses to connect pump shall be supplied. Their size shall be adequate for quick operation of all hydraulic operations and shall be 2 ply braided steel SAE100RS, with swivel on both ends. The drive shaft shall be supplied with spline long enough to allow telescopic retraction of the shaft in order to change fan belt without removing the pump. The hydraulic system must be set up so all other hydraulic functions do not rob the sander equipment. A parts manual shall be supplied with each unit. The control valve will include the following NINE sections: 1-D.A. Plow Lift 1-D.A. Hydraulic Tilt Moldboard Cylinder 1-D.A. Tilt Harness 1-D.A. Hydraulic Harness Lock Cylinder 1 D.A. Hydraulic Harness Unlock Cylinder 1-D.A. Front of Wing 1-D.A. Rear Wing Slide 1-D.A. Wing Braces 1-S.A. Body Hoist

21 HYDRAULIC CONTROLS The hydraulic controls valves will be operated by proportional featherable in cab air controls. The control panel assembly shall be of a remote design pedestal mounted and adjustable. An oil reservoir of adequate capacity shall be supplied complete with oil filter level sight gauge, breather type filter cap, drain plug and oil shut off valve. The complete valve stack assembly will be mounted vertically on a 1/4" mounting plate, integral with the rear wing tower assembly. The valve mounting plate will be welded to the horizontal channel and sloping diagonal brace. The valve assembly will be completely open and easily accessible from the drivers side of the chassis for washing and maintenance and to include a chromed override handle for valves at back of cab.

22 FRONT VIKING 8" VCL 350 SCL WING POST - WITH CABLE AND SHEAVES MAKE AND MODEL SPECIFY: The design and construction of the wing post shall be in compliance with MTO ES403, or shall be equivalent design approved by the MTO. Brace "A" li ES403 shall be replaced by a second sturdy cross member. This cross member shall be bolted to both cheek plates. Alternate braces must be approved. The wing post shall be made of 8" I-Beam, 18.4lb.ft. minimum. Cross member shall be of heavy construction to sustain snow plowing operation in severe conditions. The sheave pin shall be provided with a grease fitting and an elite bushing. A safety stop, limited slide travel shall be supplied. Lifting cable shall not be mounted to the hinge pin. An 8"grab link shall be located halfway between upper and lower position of bolt "D"as shown on ES403. Front slide shall be provided with a tipover arrangement. A spring shall be included to return the blade to normal position after it has tripped. Front Slide to be 5/8"thick x 24"Long Specify: Bottom of wing post shall be approx. 11" from the ground, truck empty, and shall be protected by a shoe. A 3"x 30"stroke D.A. cylinder shall be mounted on the inside of the front post and shall operate the front wing slide. Cross member must be bolted to wing post.

One 6" front post spot lights facing forward with separate marked switches in cab on pedestal. Lights mounted on adjustable 16" pedestal. Aeon auxiliary rubber helper kit installed to factory chassis springs on curbside to aid in winging operation. Hydraulic fittings to be "Safeway S70 Quick couplers" for case of installing or removing wing.

24 VIKING VCL 350 SCL FULL HYDRAULIC SNOW PLOW WING TOWER WITH CABLE AND SHEAVES MAKE AND MODEL SPECIFY: Additional M.T.O. Cross member at rear of cab to be added by body builder to compensate for rear wing tower and hydraulics The harness assembly shall be of heavy construction to sustain snow plowing operations under sever conditions. A reservoir of adequate capacity shall be supplied but must not interfere with the operation of the box. Valves shall be installed on outlet lines at reservoir. Bottom of wing tower shall be protected by shoe and shall have a road clearance of 14" minimum, truck empty. Approved size of ram controlling the front end of wing shall be 3" diameter x 30" stroke. Approved size of ram controlling wing brace slide shall be 3" diameter x 36" stroke approximately and shall be double acting. Brace slide to be 3/4" thick x 24" long. 6" sealed beam wing light shall be provided with separate marked switch inside cab. Wing tower shall be painted gloss black. The wing tower shall be of 10" channel construction with a 25 degree onset and its mountings shall be sufficient to sustain snow plowing operations under severe conditions. One piece brace 2 3/4" diameter shall connect the bottom of the wing tower and the truck chassis near the forward mount of the right rear springs to reduce the shock of the truck frame. The rear wing tower shall be heavily braced and gusseted to the frame cheek plate. Hydraulic hoses shall connect the rams of the tower with the valves in the control box. Hoses shall be two ply braided steel, SAE100R2 with swivels on both ends. A safety chain shall be provided for securing wing when not in use. SPECIFY:

26 SPECIFICATION FOR SNOW PLOWING EQUIPMENT 13' SNOW LEVELLING WING Viking VCL156AHW 3/16 smooth paneled wing with no ribs. Specify: The snow leveling wing shall comply with the provisions of M.T.O. ES- 406, except for the length which is designated by the specification. The inside height of the wing shall be 29" minimum. The outside height of the wing shall be 39" minimum. Overall length of the wing shall be 13 feet. The plate for mounting the wing to the wing post shall be 1" thick. The mounting hole shall be far enough from the edge of the plate to avoid failure in this area. The mounting of the nose end of the wing to the wing post shall be by means of a hinges and retractable spring, to allow tipping over the wing. Two adjustable wing braces shall be supplied. The upper brace shall be of a shock release type, including a spring retraction. The spring shall provide adequate stability of the wing in normal operation conditions, and shall retract the wing from tip-over position. A 36" fluorescent orange marker on discharge end of wing. One spare pin for adjusting the wing braces shall be supplied with each brace. The wing shall be fitted with the following: One snow plow blade M.T.O. ES High Wearing One wing shoe M.T.O. ES-409 The wing shall be prepped and painted Imron 5000 Elite SS Medium Gloss BLACK. A parts manual shall be supplied with each unit.
