1 Request for Bids City of Derby Public Works INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS FURNISH THE CITY OF DERBY, KANSAS, ONE (1)2014 or NEWER TANDEM AXLE 10 YARD DUMP TRUCK w/ PLOW 1. Sealed bids, on the attached form only, will be received at the office of the City Clerk until 11:00 a.m., on 1, Oct, 2015, at which time the bids will be opened in the City Council Room at City Hall and read aloud. Bids should be delivered/mailed to the City Clerk s office, 611 Mulberry Rd. Ste. 300, Derby, KS Bids received after said time will be returned unopened. Bids are to be sealed and outside marked 2014 TANDEM AXLE 10 YARD DUMP TRUCK W/PLOW. No bid may be withdrawn within thirty (30) days from the scheduled closing time for receiving proposals. Bid prices shall be F.O.B., Derby, KS. The dump truck is for the Street Division of the Department of Public Works and is not subject to state and local sales taxes. 2. Bid price shall remain in effect for a minimum of sixty (60) days after bid opening date. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities therein. It is the intent of these specifications to describe the minimum requirements for one (1) unused 2014 or newer Tandem Axle 10 Yard Dump Truck W/Plow. Any addition, deletions, or variations from the specifications must be noted in writing. These specifications shall be construed as a minimum. Should the manufacturer s current published data or specifications exceed these, they shall be considered minimum and shall be furnished. Specifications also require that the bidder furnish descriptive literature, complete specifications, and all necessary data on the proposed equipment. All parts not specifically mentioned, which are necessary in order to provide a complete diesel powered dump truck, shall be furnished by the successful bidder and shall conform in strength, quality of material and workmanship to that usually provided by the engineering practice indicated in these specifications.

The unit shall be delivered completely assembled and ready for use. Bidders shall indicate in the appropriate column whether or not each minimum specification will be met or exceeded. Inability to meet all minimum specification will not necessarily disqualify bid. The City reserves the right to waive minor specification deficiencies and make award on a best bid basis. Hydraulic valve shall be capable of a nominal 30 GPM with published flow curves to 40 GPM. Valve must be

5 pressure compensated load sensing type with individual flow control compensators on (cont.) each section. Changing a section from a single to double action is done by replacing and shuttle cartridge. Valve is to be arranged as follows: 1. Inlet cap with inletoutlet and load sense ports. 2. Single action cylinder spool for hoist. Spring return with section flow compensator. 3. Single action cylinder spool for angling snowplow. 4. Single action cylinder spool for snow plow lift. spring return with adjustable section flow compensator. 5. Section 1-3 will be actuated by Morse RVC cable control systems. 1. Single axis control for dump box (2 & 3) joystick t pattern controls for plow lift. Cable core must be stainless steel and capable of 100# push-pull. Controls shall be mounted in cab on console between seats.

6 C. Filter will be return line type, 10 micton spin-on element with 1 ¼ NPT ports mounted as close as Possible to the reservoir. By-pass (Cont.) And condition gauge are necessary. Tank mount filter is optional. D. Reservoir shall be 30 gal. Minimum with breather cap, magnetic drain plus, and suction screen. Fill neck must be screened and a sight/temperature gauge mounted on the reservoir so easily visible for inspection. Symmetrical side ports are needed to allow mounting on either side for truck frame. Bottom suction sump not allowed. MANUALS: 2 sets operator s manual, a shop repair manual, and a parts manual shall be provided for the truck cab and chassis, the dump body, Plow and the hydraulic system. WARRANTY: Full factory warranty, a copy of which is to be provided with the bid.
