PP-MEGA-Drain 8 road construction Chain cleaning and high pressure cleaning The best cleaning result will be achieved with a perforation width of 5 mm, especially for the cleaning of drainages in tunnels. The cleaning with chain or high pressure cleaning can be done easily with the PP-MEGA-Drain 12 or 16 due to the strengthened inner wall (see page 21). PP-MEGA-Drain The ÖNORM tested PP-MEGA-Pipe is perforated to our PP-MEGA-Drain. All requirements of the ÖNORM will be met with the PP-MEGA-Drain, except that the tightness is only confined at the socket connection. Because of these requirements, we have decided to produce the new PP-MEGA-Pipes and Drains SN12 with an inner wall thickness of 3 mm and SN16 with an inner wall thickness of 4 mm. Before installing the pipes and the fittings have to be checked for damages that may have occurred due to transport or storage. Damaged pipes or fittings are not allowed to be installed. The laying should be started at the lower end of the pipeline, but the sockets should face to the top. If 2 pipelines are laid side by side you have to pay attention, that the space between the pipelines is enough to be compacted appropriate. Connecting of the pipes Put the sealing ring into the first trough of the pipe and make sure that the sealing fits proper. Before connecting the pipes the sliding surfaces have to be cleaned. Then grease the inner surface of the socket well with usual lubricants. The pipes should be connected with constant axial force up to the previously marked insertion depth, without overloading the components. If you use equipment to connect, the pipe or the socket have to be protected. If an equipment is used at the socket end, a short piece of pipe (without sealing ring) has to be inserted before. Put a piece of wood between pipe and equipment and then the pipe can be connected securely.
