5 How Can I Organize An Event? So you want to set up your own special event? You know what you want to do but you don t know where to start? If you know what you d like to do you covered most of it already! Well here s a simple guide to setting up that event to make for an enjoyable day. What would you like to do? When would you like to go? Contact ANY of the Board members with the above information so we can get the proper paperwork completed and to advertise your event. You can us, call us, mail this guide in, or even come to one of the board meetings. As the board does their stuff you can start mapping out your route. There are many ways to do this. Mapquest, Navigation, GPS, County Maps, etc. Bring copies of the maps to hand out. It s ok if everyone doesn t get one but space them out through the group accordingly. Just a side note, if at all possible you should considering driving the route before the scheduled event to make sure there are no detours, flooded roads, road hazards, construction, gravel roads, etc. If not, that s ok too, but be prepared to make on the fly adjustments by having maps, nav, gps, something in the car so the group isn t just lost. When the event day is here. All you have to do is have everyone sign the waiver and hand out maps. The board will make sure you have the waivers before hand. Lastly, remember this is YOUR event. Enjoy it! You will be the lead car so you will set the pace. Drive where you re comfortable but not so anyone can keep up. Some drivers are spirited while others want to just cruise and take in the scenery. That s ok too. Just try not to lose your group because we all share the same passion. Unless of course it s a rally then everyone s on their own.

As the warmer weather begins, remember that this is YOUR CLUB, and that many people volunteer their time to make the upcomming events happen. MARK YOUR CALENDAR TO ATTEND W/YOUR PORSCHE. When approached and asked, Spartan Speedway REDUCED THE TRACK RENTAL FEES FOR This allows the Motor-Stadt Region to keep the $25.00 fee per driver for this year. It helps the club stay in the black. So dust off your car, and watch for potholes! Don t forget to flick your lights at other Porsches, on occasion, the other driver will give you a return highbeam salute! We are looking for not only the unrestored, concours cars, but the daily drivers and the tweaked Porsches as well commented Brian Minson, Editor of 9magazine. Goodyear Tires and 9magazine will be selecting more than a dozen cars to be featured in the magazine during , these selected cars will receive a set of new Goodyear Eagle tires in the size desired by the Porsche owner. The tires will be shipped directly from Goodyear Tires to the car owner prior to a feature photo shoot, the only cost for the car owner will be mounting and balancing. Featured cars will grace the cover of 9magazine and have their unique story of the Porsche and driver written.
