1 Internal Memorandum To: Fr: Chief of Police Ronald Compton Lieutenant Kevin Avery Topic: June 2018 Public Report This is the report for the activity of the Crestwood Police Department for the month of June In June 2018, there were 22 Part I offenses and 341 Part II offenses, for a total of 363 offenses. This compares with 21 Part I offenses and 375 Part II offenses for a total of 396 in June Burglaries: A burglary occurred on June 23, involving a gun store on Watson Road. Suspects were observed on video surveillance cameras breaking into the store. Apparently no property was taken. Motor Vehicle Theft: On June 2, a car alarm alerted residents on Craigwood Terrace of an attempt to steal their vehicle. The vehicle was running when police arrived. Other vehicles in the area were rummaged through as well. On June 12, a stolen 1965 Mustang was recovered on Sunray. On June 28, a commercial box truck was stolen from a business in the 9000 Blk of Watson Road. A stolen motorcycle was recovered on June 6, after it crashed into another vehicle in the 9800 Blk of Watson Road. The rider was seen running from the area after the accident. Stealing offenses numbered twelve in June Stealings were of the following classifications in June 2018.

2 Shopliftings accounted for six of the twelve stealing events in June The shopliftings all occurred at a department store along Watson Rd. Of the shopliftings, five were cleared by arrest, and adults accounted for 100% of the clearances. The items shoplifted were found to be:

3 There were five property damages in June 2018 and they were of the following classification: Part I offenses numbered 22 in June Part II Offenses In June 2018, there were two reported cases of domestic violence and two simple assaults. In all cases the parties knew each other prior to the assaults. There were four frauds involving credit cards and bad checks. There were five drug offenses. Four of the cases involved possession of a controlled substance and the other case involved a person inhaling solvent fumes in a public place charges are being sought against the suspects. There were seven animal calls and 61 people related calls, including 56 medical emergencies and five suicide related calls. There were 44 suspicious activity calls investigated. There were seventeen motor vehicle accidents reported, with two of these involving leaving the scene of the accident offenses. The police department investigated 198 additional miscellaneous police calls in June Part II offenses totaled 341 in June 2018.

5 In Ward One there was one property damage report at a church on Watson Road involving graffiti being spray on a wall. Drug offense - a driver was arrested on Grant Road for possession of a controlled substance. There were four traffic accidents, one animal related call and twelve people related calls. Suspicious activity calls numbered six and occurred on six different streets. There were 58 miscellaneous police service calls. The police department responded to 84 calls for service in Ward One during June In Ward Two there was one burglary at a gun store on Watson Road. There were nine stealings at addresses on Watson and Big Bend. An employee s iphone and credit card was stolen at her business on Watson Road. An assault arrest occurred after an employee assaulted another at a business on Big Bend. There was one property damage offense. Three fraud offense were reported that included fraudulent credit device usage at a bank on Watson Road and retailers on Big Bend. There were three drug offenses involving possession of a controlled substance. There were three animal related calls, eleven traffic accidents, and 24 people related calls. Suspicious activity calls numbered twenty and occurred on eight different streets. There were 76 miscellaneous police service calls. The police department responded to 141 calls for service in Ward Two during June In Ward Three there was one stealing offenses reported involving a theft of fuel from a service station on Watson Road. The police department recovered a stolen vehicle from an address on Sunray. A box truck was stolen from a business on Watson Road. Two domestic assaults occurred in ward three this month. There were two property damage offenses reported: one on Conser and the other on Crestwood Manor, both involved damage to vehicles. A resident who lives on Pinewood was the victim of a fraud offense after his credit card was compromised. There was two animal related call reported, two traffic accidents and fifteen people related calls. Suspicious activity calls numbered fourteen and occurred on nine different streets. There were 24 miscellaneous police service calls. The police department responded to 75 calls for service in Ward Three during June In Ward Four there was one stealing offense on Cherry Brook involving a theft from a residents vehicle. At an address on Craigwood an attempt was made to steal a vehicle and several other vehicles in the area were rummaged through. There were two property damage offenses: one occurred on Rusdon when a glass door was damaged the other involved graffiti damage near Sappington and Hartsdale. The police responded to a reported assaults offense on Villa Crest. There was one animal related call, and ten people related calls. Suspicious activity calls numbered four and occurred on four different streets. There were 24 miscellaneous police service calls. The police department responded to 41 calls for service in Ward Four during June 2018.

Communications: Communications handled over 1705 telephone contacts and 441, calls in June This is a daily average of 57 telephone contacts and 15, calls.

15 Location Comparison: This chart is a comparison of the percentage of accidents, enforcement and calls for service by the three major tracking areas in the city year to date for Watson is activity along Watson Road. Major streets are the following streets that have been used to track accidents and enforcement for a length of time. They are: Sappington Pardee Lane Old Sappington Grant Road I-44 East Watson Big Bend Garber Road Pardee Road Liggett. Other streets are the remainder of the streets that are not included in one of the areas.
