1 Updated March 28, 2018 Case Number /25/2018 at 11:00 am 800 blk. North Western Ave. Retail Theft, Obstruction and Minor Consumption of Alcohol Subject(s) Lopez, Andres, male, age 18, 1230 N. Western Ave. #109, Lake Forest IL $120 05/16/2018 at 8:45 am C150 Police responded to the area of the Jewel grocery store after receiving a 911 call about someone shoplifting alcohol from the store who had just left. Police were able to locate the suspect and after a short foot chase were able to take the suspect, Lopez, into custody. A records check was made and an outstanding Lake County Failure to Appear warrant for armed robbery was located. Lopez was interviewed, charged with retail theft and minor consumption of alcohol, and transported to the Depke Detention Center for holding pending a bond hearing. Case Number /23/2018 at 10:39 pm Rte. 41 and Old Elm Road Subject(s) Lewis, Trae D. male, age 20, 31 N Elmwood Waukegan IL Driving While License Suspended, Possession of Cannabis, Expired Registration 04/17/2018 at 1:30 pm Officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevy Cruz after observing the vehicle speeding 74 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. When officers approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Lewis, officers smelled the odor of burnt cannabis coming from the vehicle. Lewis also stated he did not have a driver s license. Officers located a glass mason jar containing cannabis in the vehicle. Subsequently, Lewis was taken into custody and transported to the Public Safety Building where he was charged with Driving While License Suspended, Possession of Cannabis and speeding. Lewis was processed, released on bond, and given an April court date. Case Number /23/2018 at 10:17 pm Old Elm Road and Valley Road Driving While License Suspended and Expired Registration 05/15/2018 at 3:00 pm Subject(s) Perez, Tony male, age 36, 807 Brompton Ave. Lake Bluff, IL Officers on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop on a gray Honda with an expired registration. When officers spoke to the driver, Perez, they were able to determine Perez was driving on a suspended license. Perez was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended and Expired Registration. He was processed, released on bond and given a May court date.
2 Updated March 22, 2018 Case Number /21/2018 at 4:00 pm 300 block of Bluffs Edge Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Subject(s) Leavings, Victor L., male, age 40, Kishwaukee Rd. Woodstock, IL $ /26/2018 at 9:00 am C 120 Lake Forest Police and Lake Forest Fire Department responded to the 300 block of Bluffs Edge after receiving a report of a possible heroin overdose at that location. Police located an unresponsive male, Leavings, at that location and administered Narcan prior to the Fire Department s arrival. Fire personnel also administered Narcan and Leavings was transported to Lake Forest Hospital for treatment. Police conducted an investigation and subsequently located drug paraphernalia and controlled substances belonging to Leavings. The Lake County States Attorney was contacted and charges were approved for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Leavings was taken into custody when released from the hospital, processed, and held pending an appearance in bond court. Case Number /18/2018 at 12:58 am Rte. 41 and Gage Ln. Driving While License Suspended, Speeding Subject(s) Johnson, Ian M. male, age 24, 3716 Logan Ave. Fort Wayne, IN /01/2018 at 3:00 pm Police conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevy Trail Blazer after observing the vehicle speeding. When police spoke to the driver, Johnson, officers determined his driver s license was currently suspended. Johnson was arrested, transported to the Public Safety Building where he was processed and released on bond. Johnson was given a May court date. Case Number /18/2018 at 12:46 am College and Sheridan Road Possession of Cannabis Administrative Hearing Citation 04/11/2018 at 8:00 am City Hall Subject(s) Pedro, Cole P., male, age 19, 2100 Culver Ct. Plainfield, IL Police operating in the area of Sheridan Road and College observed a Toyota SUV commit a moving violation and subsequently conducted a vehicle stop. When officers approached the vehicle and spoke to the driver, Pedro, concerning the reason for the stop. As officers were speaking to the driver, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the inside the vehicle. When questioned about the odor, Pedro admitted to
3 having cannabis edibles under the driver s seat. Pedro was taken into custody and police conducted a search of his vehicle, which resulted in finding drug paraphernalia and a small amount of cannabis. Pedro was issued citations for Possession of Cannabis and given an April hearing date. Case Number /14/18 at 7:05 pm Western Ave. and Illinois Road Driving While License Suspended Subject(s) Diaz Duarte, Jamie. Male, age 43, 915 N Poplar St Waukegan, Il /01/2018 at 1:30 pm Police were called to the area of Western Ave. and Illinois after receiving a 911 call about a traffic crash at that location. Police located two vehicles at that location and after determining the cause of the accident and speaking with both drivers, officers determined the at fault driver, Diaz Duarte, was driving on a suspended license. He was arrested, charged with Driving While License Suspended, given a May court date and released on bond. Updated March 18, 2018 Case Number /12/2018 at 8:25 pm 500 block Oakwood Ave. Aggravated DUI (class 4 felony), Driving While License Suspended, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol $ /15/2018 at 9:00 am C 120 Subject(s) Hernandez Torres, Luis, male, age 31, 2423 Sand Lake Road, Lindenhurst, IL Police responded to the area of Deerpath and Rte. 41 after receiving a 911 call concerning a black Ford F 150 that was north bound on Rte. 41, and had struck the median barrier twice. Police were able to locate and stop the vehicle on Oakwood Ave. Police approached and spoke to the driver, Hernandez Torres, about his driving. During this conversation, officers noted the smell of alcohol coming from Hernandez Torres and that he was displaying signs of alcohol impairment. Officers requested Hernandez Torres exit the vehicle and perform several field sobriety test. Based on several factors, including driving, physical signs of impairment, and ability to complete SFST s, Hernandez Torres was arrested for DUI. Officers were also able to determine Hernandez Torres driver s license was suspended for DUI. Officers located open containers of beer in the center cup holders as well as empty cans in the back seat. Hernandez Torres was transported to the Public Safety Building, charged with Aggravated DUI, Driving While License Suspended, and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol. He was processed and held overnight pending transport to bond court.
4 Case Number /12/2018 at 4:27 pm Waukegan Road and Franz Cell Phone Violation, Failure to Secure Child, No Valid Driver s License Subject(s) Juarez Castro, Emperatriz, female, age 53, 9003 Bronx, apt 2B, Skokie, IL /01/2018 at 1:30 pm Police on routine patrol observed a female driver talking on a cell phone while driving. When officers stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver, they observed a 5 year old child in the vehicle and not in a child protection seat. The driver, Juarez Castro, did not have a valid driver s license and was arrested on scene. The driver and child were transported to the Public Safety Building where Juarez Castro was processed, released on bond and given a May court date. Case Number /11/2018 at 11:29 pm 100 block of June Terrace Subject(s) Juvenile, male, age 16, Lake Forest Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Administrative Hearing Citation 04/11/2018 at 9:00 am City Hall An officer on routine patrol responded to the 100 block of June Terrace after receiving a 911 call about a suspicious vehicle parked on the street. Officers located a Jeep parked on June Terrace with by two male juvenile occupants. When talking to the 16 yr. old male driver, officers detected the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When confronted, the juvenile admitted to smoking cannabis prior to the officer s arrival. Officers located a vape pen, a cannabis grinder, and a quantity of cannabis in the possession of the juvenile passenger. The passenger was transported to the Public Safety Building where he was issued an administrative hearing ticket for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, given an April hearing date and was turned over to a parent. Case Number /11/2018 at 1:10 am Rte. 41 and Rockland Road Speeding (79/55) and Driving While License Suspended 05/01/2018 at 3:00 pm Subject(s) Parsons, Benjamin L., male, age 27, 5136 Solar Ridge Drive, Colorado Springs, CO Police conducted a traffic stop on a white Ferrari after observing the vehicle speeding 79 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. When officers approached and spoke with the driver, Parsons, they determined his driver s license was suspended. Parsons was arrested, charged with Speeding (79/55), and Driving While License Suspended. He was processed, released on bond and given a May court date.
5 Case Number /09/2018 at 2:06 am 600 block of Lake Road Criminal Sexual Abuse $50,000 Subject(s) Gramer, Cyril R., male, age 20, Sarah Dr. Wadsworth, IL /14/2018 at 9:00 am C 120 Waukegan Police responded to a 911 call in the area of Lake Road and Spring Ave. after a female reported being the victim of a sexual assault while parked in a car at Forest Park. Police located the female victim but the offender was no longer in the area. Lake Forest Police began a criminal investigation that included interviewing the victim, searching leads as to the possible identity of the offender and other task. Detectives identified a potential suspect, Gramer; he was identified by the victim and was subsequently interviewed by police. Lake Forest Detectives consulted with the Lake County State s Attorney on the case and Gramer was charged with Criminal Sexual Abuse (class 4). He was processed and held pending transport to Lake County jail for a bond hearing. Updated March Case Number /06/2018 at 1:06 pm Rte. 41 and Gage Lane Speeding and Driving While License Revoked Subject(s) Williams, Dominque M., female, age 26, 221 Minthaven, Gurnee, IL /03/2018 at 1:30 pm Officers on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop on a red Dodge Charger after observing the vehicle traveling 75 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. When officers approached the vehicle and spoke to the driver, Williams, they determined her driver s license was currently revoked for a 2016 DUI. Williams was placed under arrest, charged with Speeding (75/55), and Driving While License Revoked. She was processed and released on bond with an April court date. Case Number /04/2018 at 6:00 pm Sheridan Road and Walnut Driving While License Revoked 04/03/18 at 3:00 pm Subject(s) Reyes Cruz, Wilder A., male, age 26, 127 High Street, Highwood IL Police on routine patrol in the area of Sheridan Road and Walnut Road conducted a traffic stop on a blue Nissan for a moving violation. Officers spoke to the driver, later identified as Reyes Cruz, and determined his driver s license was currently revoked. Reyes Cruz was arrested, charged with Driving While Revoked, and transported to the Public Safety Building where he was processed, and released with an April court date.
6 Case Number /02/2018 at 5:07 pm Rte. 41 and Rte. 60 Driving While License Suspended 04/03/2018 at 1:30pm Subject(s) Crockett, Zachery M., Jr. male, age 19, 846 Linden Dr. Apt. #A Green Bay, WI Police were called to the scene of a traffic crash at the intersection of Rte. 60 and Rte. 41. On scene, officers spoke with both drivers and subsequently learned Crockett was driving on a suspended driver s license. After completing the crash investigation, officers arrested Crockett for Driving While License Suspended. Crockett was transported to the Public Safety Building, processed, and released on bond with an April court date.
