1 Internal Memorandum To: Fr: Chief of Police Ronald Compton Lieutenant Kevin Avery Topic: September 2018 Public Report This is the report for the activity of the Crestwood Police Department for the month of September In September 2018, there were 22 Part I offenses and 329 Part II offenses, for a total of 351 offenses. This compares with 20 Part I offenses and 354 Part II offenses for a total of 374 in September Stolen vehicles: Two stolen vehicles were recovered by the police department that were stolen elsewhere. Stealing offenses numbered sixteen in September Stealings were of the following classifications: Shopliftings accounted for nine of the sixteen stealing events in September The shopliftings occurred at businesses along Watson Road and Big Bend Blvd. Kohls 3 Shop n Save 1 Sams Club 1 Circle K 1 Mobile on the Run 3
2 Of the shopliftings, two were cleared by arrest and adults accounted for 50% of the clearances. The items shoplifted were found to be: There were four property damages in September 2018 and they were of the following classification: Part I offenses numbered 22 in September 2018.
3 Part II Offenses In September 2018, there were three frauds involving identity theft, counterfeiting, and bad checks. There were two drug offenses where arrests were made. Two cases of offences against public peace were reported involving disorderly conduct and trespassing. There were ten animal related calls and 64 people related calls, including two missing persons and two suicides. There were 40 suspicious activity calls investigated. There were seventeen motor vehicle accidents reported, with one of these involving leaving the scene of the accident offenses. The police department handled 191 additional miscellaneous police calls for service in September Part II offenses totaled 329 in September 2018.

5 In Ward One, a theft was reported from an apartment complex involving a stolen game console. There was one property damage report from an apartment complex where a resident s friend damaged his electronic property. There was a counterfeiting offence at Savers on Watson Road. There were five traffic accidents and two animal related call. People related calls numbered seventeen; suspicious activity calls numbered twelve and occurred on six different streets. There were 38 miscellaneous police service calls. The police department responded to 77 calls for service in Ward One during September In Ward Two, there were eleven stealing offenses reported. Eight of the thefts occurred at businesses on Watson Road and Big Bend Blvd. One theft was on a parking lot in the 9000 block of Watson road where a vehicle was broken into and property was stolen. Two thefts occurred Rayburn Avenue where property was stolen from the victim s carports. There were two fraud cases investigated on Watson Road for identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit device. There was one drug arrest made on Watson after Officers conducted a traffic stop. We investigated one disorderly conduct offense that occurred at a fitness gym on Watson Road. There were nine traffic accidents, four animal related calls, and 18 people related calls. Suspicious activity calls numbered fourteen and occurred on seven different streets. There were 86 miscellaneous police service calls. The police department responded to 146 calls for service in Ward Two during September In Ward Three, there were three stealing offenses reported, one involved the theft of a large amount of currency that occurred over a lengthy period of time from a residence home. Another theft occurred at a gas station on Watson Road, the other was a stolen cell phone being reported stolen on Deves Drive. There were two stolen vehicles recovered by officers in Ward Three, one of these vehicles was discovered burning in White Cliff Park. Two property damage reports were made, one on Pinewood Drive involving damage from a pellet gun and the other was on Pardee Lane where a concrete sidewalk was damaged. There was one drug arrest made on Watson after Officers conducted a traffic stop. There was one animal related call reported, three traffic accidents and 21 people related calls. Suspicious activity calls numbered ten and occurred on seven different streets. There were 36 miscellaneous police service calls. The police department responded to 79 calls for service in Ward Three during September In Ward Four, there was one stealing offense, a resident of Glenwood Drive left his vehicle unlocked and a wallet and currency was stolen. A property damage offence occurred when a Crestwood resident was traveling on East Watson near Crest Oak Lane; someone in a passing vehicle threw an object at the victim s vehicle causing damage. A known associate of a resident on Crestmoor Drive was charged with trespassing. There were three animal related calls, and eight people related calls reported. Suspicious activity calls numbered four and occurred on four different streets. There were 31 miscellaneous police service calls. The police department responded to 49 calls for service in Ward Four during September 2018.
