2 Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information From: 04/24/2017 3:00am To: 04/24/2017 3:43am W Nine Mile Rd. (Commercial Fast Food) Rear door was pried open with large crow bar with yellow paint transferring to the door. Officers responded to alarm at business in the Block of Nine Mile 3:43am. Officers arrived and found good B&E. The rear door had been pried open with some type of prying device that left yellow paint on the door. Officers found evidence that suspect(s) attempted to take the safe that was bolted to floor inside business. Officers made contact with the owner who stated she reviewed their video surveillance system. Owner observed two black males pry open the back door with a large crow bar. The suspects were wearing gray hoodies and had masks and gloves on. The suspects went directly to the safe on the floor and attempted to pry it from the floor/wall. Both suspects left the business after failing to steal the safe. The suspects then left in a Red Dodge Caravan that was parked next to the rear door. Owner advises that several other Jets Pizzas have been broken into recently.
3 04/25/ :40pm Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Furniture) A small rectangle shape window on the northwest warehouse door (next to loading dock) was broken out. Officers responded to interior door and rooftop hatch alarm at business in the Block of Telegraph Rd at 10:35pm. Officers arrived on scene at 10:59pm. Officers observed that a small rectangle shape window on the northwest warehouse door (next to loading dock) was broken out. Door itself was locked and perimeter of building checked secure. Officers checked the roof of building and it was clear of any suspects. Officers then cleared building and secured door. 04/27/2017 1:49am W Nine Mile Rd (Commercial- Gas Station) 4 x 10 pane of glass in front of business was broken out with a rock. Officers were dispatched to the report of a B&E in progress at Gas Station in the Block of Nine Mile Rd at 1:49am. The alarm company was viewing an individual break into the store on the surveillance cameras. Officers arrived on scene discovered good B&E and the suspect had already fled the business. Surveillance Video from the business shows the suspect approached on foot from the south. He attempted to break the front door, however was unsuccessful (observable marks). Suspect then threw a rock through the pane of glass one north of the front doors. The suspect climbed through and crouch walked to the cashier clerk s door. The door was locked and did not appear forced open. The suspect mulled around in the store for approximately one minute, before departing out the shattered window with no observable property. The suspect departed the area to the south, going over the half wall to the south of the

A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene and collected blood samples that were fresh and most likely from when the suspect broke into the business. 5 Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 04/25/2017 4:08pm W Carnegie Park (Residential- Apartments) Someone had forced the lock on the handle and damaged the lock plate pulling it from the door jam. Victim states sometime between 8:00pm and 4:00pm someone forced entry into her apartment, ransacked the apartment and took several wall mounted TV s and some liquor. Victim states she forgot to engage her dead bolt on door and to activate her alarm system prior to leaving her apartment. Victim checked with management to see if any maintenance people where in her apartment. Victim was advised that a maintenance person actually discovered the B&E at 11:00am and reported it to someone at the office. The victim was never notified. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene and collected evidence. Incident is under investigation. From: 04/25/2017 8:30am To: 04/25/2017 1:20pm Sutherland St. No signs of forced entry. Victim states sometime between 8:30am 1:20pm someone entered residence by unknown means and ransacked the residence. A TV and other Electronic Items are missing from the home. 6 Automobile Thefts: 04/26/2017 3:05am Date/Time Address (block range) Year, Make, Model Details Lahser Rd. (Residential- Condo s) Status SR - Both Stolen And Recovered Manufacturer FORD Model EXPLORER Color SIL - Silver or Aluminum 2016 MI Description Silver Ford Explorer Recovered Date/Time 04/26/2017 3:12am R/P states at approx. 3:05am he observed two vehicles enter his Condo Complex. He stated a Toyota Corolla and Chevrolet Silverado pulled into the complex and parked approx. 50 ft. away from the parked/attacked Ford Explorer. The Corolla was occupied by 2 W/M that were approximately 30 years old. R/P was unable to give a description of the two males in the Silverado due to the tinted windows. R/P observed the Silverado drive towards the Explorer and put its front bumper behind the vehicle and pushed it from its parked position. After the Silverado pushed the vehicle forward and onto the grass, he observed a B/M run from the area where the Toyota was parked and get into the attacked vehicle. He stated the B/M got out of the vehicle shortly after and then the Toyota and Silverado both left S/B on Lahser. Appears to be an Attempt Auto Theft. Suspect Vehicle Descriptions: 1) Red/Burgundy Chevrolet Silverado: Newer Crew Cab, Tinted front windows, unknown plate, no other identifying features. 2) Blue Toyota Corolla: Four Door Ohio plate on front and rear, no other identifying features. It appears that the subjects were attempting to take the vehicle.

(Residential- Condo s) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer DODGE Model RAM TRUCK Color RED - Red License Year 1996 PK - Pickup Truck MI 2017 Description 2006 DODGE RAM PICK UP, BLACK TONEAU COVER Victim states that he parked his vehicle at 7:30pm in the carport at his residence. The following morning at 10:00am victim noticed that the vehicle was missing. The vehicle had a steering wheel lock on it and the vehicle was locked according to the victim.
8 04/27/2017 7:20am W Nine Mile Rd. (Commercial- Fast Food) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer NISSAN Model ALTIMA Color MAR - Maroon or Burgundy Vehicle Year 2005 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State License Year Description MOTOR VEHICLE Victim listed his vehicle for sale on Craigslist. Soon after he received a phone call from a woman who was interested in coming to look at the vehicle with her brother who would inspect the vehicle. They scheduled a meeting in the parking lot of business at 9 Mile and Telegraph on 7:20 am. 2- B/M s met with victim and they inspected the vehicle. They suspect decided to buy the vehicle and paid for the vehicle with all $ Bills. Victim then signed the title over to the suspect. The suspect entered the vehicle and drove away. Upon further inspection of the bills victim discovered they were counterfeit. Victim stated that there were two suspects when he purchased the vehicle; the driver was a B/M, 30 to 40 years old, 6'-0", about 180 pounds and the purchaser (provided the counterfeit money) was a B/M, years old, 6'-0", about 140 pounds. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Any citizen that buys or sells anything on Craig s List or any other site for selling items should never meet with buyer or seller alone and should always do it at a safe location like a Police Department. 9 From: 04/28/ :01am To: 04/28/ :01am Philip Dr. Status S - Stolen Manufacturer MERC BENZ Model CL500 Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 2004 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2015 Description BLACK 2004 MERCEDES BENZ CL500 Victim states on 04/21/2017 he got into an argument with his now ex-girlfriend. She left and it was later discovered that she took victims key to his 2004 Mercedes Benz. The ex-girlfriend started texting him telling him she wanted an undisclosed amount of money for the key back. On 04/28/2017 victim discovered that her exgirlfriends ex-husbands vehicle was parked in his driveway and now his 2004 Mercedes CL500 was taken. Victim then received several text messages from his ex-girlfriend indicating she took his vehicle. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation.
10 04/29/ :19am M-10 & Southfield Freeway Status RS Recovered Stolen Manufacturer DODGE Model CHARGER Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 2016 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State GA License Year 2017 Description BLACK 2016 DODGE CHARGER Officers were on routine patrol and were following a 2016 Black Dodge Charger on N/B Southfield Service Dr. As the vehicle was entering N/B Southfield Freeway it accelerated up to speeds of a 100mph. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle; it was slow to stop, Officers observed furtive movement, but eventually the vehicle stopped on M-10 just north of the Southfield Freeway. The plate on vehicle was a dealership plate that registered in another jurisdiction. Officers made contact with the lone driver. Officers ran the vin# on the dash and it came back clear no record. The driver stated he bought the vehicle from a dealership located in another jurisdiction. Officers located the Vin# displayed inside the vehicles driver's door. It was different than the one on the dash and it returned as a stolen vehicle from another state. Officers again looked at the Vin# that was displayed on the front dash and saw there was a plastic card covering the actual VIN plate. Officers were able to remove a white, credit card size, card which displayed the false Vin#. The actual Vin# plate matched the door frame Vin#. The driver had no paper work for the sale of the vehicle and it wasn t properly registered. The driver was placed under arrest for R&C Stolen vehicle w/o incident.

Victim states sometime between 7:30pm and 6:06am someone took All Four Wheels & Tires from victims 2016 Chrysler 300. From: 04/24/2017 7:30pm To: 04/25/ :00am Evergreen Meadows Rd. (Residential- Condo s) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2016 Ford edge. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should never leave cash or anything of value inside their vehicles. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states he parked his 2016 Ford Edge at 7:30pm, he does not believe he locked the vehicle. Victim returned to his vehicle the following morning at 10:00am and discovered that All Four Wheels & Tires had been taken from his vehicle and the center console and glove box had been gone through. There was an undisclosed amount of currency taken from the vehicle. 12 04/28/2017 6:32pm W Eleven Mile 3- Checks and a Handgun were taken from victims 2008 Chrysler Sebring. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should always know where their handguns are at and should never leave their handguns in their vehicles!!!!!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states he last saw his handgun on 10:00pm. On 04/28/2017 he noticed his handgun was missing. Victim thinks he left it in his vehicle. There is also 3- Blank checks missing from his vehicle. No signs of any force on the vehicle. Victim thinks he left it unlocked.
13 04/29/2017 5:31am (Fleeing & Eluding) Walden Rd E (Residential- Apartments) Catalytic Converter was taken from 2008 Cadillac DTS Officers were dispatched to a LFA in progress at Apartment Complex in the Block of Walden Rd. E. 2- B/M possibly in a Black Ford Ranger are involved. Officer responding observed a Black Ford F-150 going S/B on Berg at a high rate of speed. Officer turned around and attempted to catch up to vehicle. The vehicle continued S/B on Berg and when it got to 8 Mile Rd it went straight across and over the center medium and then continued S/B on Berg Rd into Detroit. Officer caught up to suspect vehicle at Berg & 7 Mile Rd. The pursuit continued onto E/B Grand River and then turned into residential area. Officers lost sight of the vehicle and the pursuit was terminated. The suspect vehicle didn t have a plate on it and there were two suspects in the vehicle. Suspect Descriptions: Suspect #1: B/M, 5'-10"- 6'-0", moderate build, ear length dreads, dressed in all red. Suspect #2: B/M, 5'-10", moderate build, short hair, wearing a white t-shirt and black pants. Officers located attacked vehicle at Apartment Complex. Red Cadillac DTS had its Catalytic Converter taken.
14 From: 04/28/2017 8:00pm To: 04/29/2017 2:30pm W Twelve Mile (Residential- Apartment) Vehicle was ransacked and they stole victim s wives underwear. Victim stated someone entered his vehicle sometime between 8:00pm and the following day at 2:30pm. They stole clothing and ransacked the vehicle. It is unknown how entry was gained. No signs of damage or forced entry. No suspect information. Entry was gained through the open sunroof. No suspect information. Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked
15 Armed Robbery: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 04/25/ :52pm (Fleeing & Eluding/ Obstruct Police) Melrose Ave. (Commercial Pharmaceuticals) Two Garbage Bags with Schedule I, II, III Drugs. Several Officers responded to Armed Robbery just occurred in the Block of Melrose. Business is a 24 Hour Pharmaceuticals Distributor that has been robbed several times previously. Suspect #1: B/M, 6'-1", medium build, wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes. Suspect #2: B/M, 5'-8", heavy build, wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes. The R/P stated both subjects were armed. Shortly after the run was dispatched Southfield Officer advised he was in a police pursuit with a vehicle occupied by two subjects matching the description of the suspects. Officer radioed he was pursuing the vehicle south on Evergreen into Detroit, east on Hessel and then drove to the dead end of Sunderland Street. Both suspects bailed from the vehicle. One suspect ran east and the other ran west. Several Southfield officers were in the area setting up a perimeter where suspects were last scene. Officers were checking residences for suspect when Officers heard a shuffling behind the fence of the back yard that separated the residence from a power terminal that was fenced in with barbed wire at the top. Officers walked to the back fence and looked over the fence and observed a B/M crouched
16 Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police. If something doesn t appear right or someone looks like they are up to no good, call the police immediately Trust your intuition down in the bushes just north of their location on the inside of the power plant yard. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, and black shoes. Officers also observed a black hoodie stuck in the barbed wire fence where the suspect had climbed over the fence. Officers ordered suspect to show his hands several times before he stood up and raised his hands and walked out of the bushes. His arms and hands were bloody and appeared to have wounds most likely from jumping the barbed wire fence. The suspect was taken into custody w/o incident. The second suspect wasn t located at this time. Officers located the suspect s firearm that was used in the robbery on the ground where suspect climbed over the fence. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician recovered and secured the Firearm. The suspect s vehicle which was abandoned by suspects when they fled on foot was processed by Southfield Police Evidence Technicians. All of the stolen Pharmaceuticals and Drugs were recovered from the vehicle as well as the suspect s masks that were worn during the Robbery.

18 Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: Officer Safety Aggravated Assault/ Shots Fired/ CPL Violation 04/27/2017 5:08pm Block of Shiawassee Rd. (Residential- Apartments) Several Officers responded to Shots Fired in the area of the Block of Shiawassee. Officer s investigation revealed that it was a Domestic Situation (Boyfriend/ Girlfriend) that are in the process of breaking up. The boyfriend showed up unexpectedly, he was upset and was observed by several witnesses including the girlfriend to have a handgun and he shot two rounds towards the ground where his ex-girlfriend was standing. After obtaining verbal statements from witnesses all parties including the girlfriend refused to cooperate any further with Officers. The suspect had left prior to Officers arrival. The suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. The suspect is a B/M 25 years old. 19 Special Attention: Officer Safety! Disorderly Person at the Front Desk. 1- Arrest Evergreen Rd. SPD- Front Desk Southfield Officer working the front desk advises on Friday April 28, 2017 subject arrived in the lobby to retrieve his property from a prior arrest. He picked up the jail phone in the lobby which is a direct line to the jail and had a loud profane interaction with someone he was talking to from the jail. He then hung up the phone and approached the Desk Officer. He was loud and belligerent with the Desk Officer. He was told to have a seat; someone from the jail would be down to address the issue. Jail personnel came down and advised subject his property could not be released without a property form and he would have to talk to a supervisor on Monday. He then walked back to the desk and started yelling obscenities at the Desk Officer. He was told to leave. When he failed to leave the Desk Officer came from behind the desk and escorted him out the front doors and told him not to return. Approximately 3 minutes later he came back into the lobby. It was at this time the Desk Officer advised him he was under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. Subject was escorted to the jail and lodged. OWI/ Possession Of Marijuana/ Open Intox. In A Motor Vehicle- 1- Arrest 04/24/2017 3:50am Franklin Rd. & Beck Rd. Officers were dispatched to location to check for possible driver slumped at the wheel. (2003 Red Buick Rendezvous) The vehicle was located, the driver was slumped at the wheel and the brake lights were on. Officers positioned their vehicles in front and behind vehicle in case it started to move. Officers made contact with the driver. The drivers head was slouched onto her right shoulder, her eyes were closed her foot was on the brake and the car was in drive. There was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, there was an open liquor bottle in the center of the front seats and Officers located a suspected marijuana cigarette in the driver s purse. The driver was arrested for OWI/ Possession Of Marijuana & Open Intox. in a Motor Vehicle. A Southfield Police Evidence technician Field Tested a sample of the suspect marijuana. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana.
20 Special Attention: Larceny from Vehicles How to prevent this from happening to you! -Citizens should never leave anything of value inside their vehicle. (Especially Handguns, Purses, Wallets, Cash & Cell Phones!) - If you have a garage you should park your vehicle in the garage and lock the garage. - Wheel Locks are a deterrent but don t leave the wheel lock key in the interior of your vehicle, especially the center console or glove box. This is the first place they will look for the wheel lock. -After parking your vehicle turn your wheels all the way to the right or the left. This will make it difficult to get the lug nuts off the front wheels. - If you don t have a garage, try to park your vehicle as close to your residence as possible. Disorderly Conduct/ R&O- 1- Arrest 04/24/2017 2:06pm Block of Evergreen Rd. (Commercial- Food) Officer was dispatched to business for an Embezzlement Investigation. Officer met with the owner of the business and the two sat down to discuss the case. While discussing the case the suspect who wasn t involved in the conversation between Officer and Owner of business started created a disturbance inside the business. She was screaming and yelling and threatening to fight someone. The suspect then left the store and went out to her vehicle in the parking lot. Officer went out to the parking lot and attempted to speak with suspect. The suspect was yelling and screaming and now creating a scene in the parking lot. The suspect was warned several times to calm down but she refused. The female suspect was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. When Officers attempted to take female into custody she resisted arrest. Officers used the necessary force to affect the arrest. The female was also charged with R&O. The Embezzlement Case is under investigation. -If you hear any loud noises near where your vehicle is parked, especially during the late night or early morning hours, attempt to look outside without alerting anyone and if someone is tampering with your vehicle immediately call 911, (Do Not Approach or Scare the Suspects Away) give Police Dispatchers as much information about the suspect(s) and
21 suspect vehicles as you can. Stay on the phone with Dispatchers until the Police arrive. -Lots of lighting around the area(s) that you park your vehicles is also very beneficial. Criminals don t like to work in well lighted areas. They prefer to work in darkness because it s difficult to see them. Possession of Marijuana/ DWLS- 1- Arrest 04/28/2017 4:22am Telegraph & Northwestern Hwy. Officers were on patrol in the parking lot of the Hotel in the Block of Northwestern Service Dr. They observed a Black Chrysler 300 parked and running in the parking lot. A short time later the vehicle was observed leaving the hotel. The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. After approaching the vehicle Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver stated he didn t have a driver s license, there was nothing in the vehicle and Officers could search the vehicle if they wanted to. The driver did have a Michigan I.D. Card. The driver was run through Lein and he had multiple suspensions. The driver was arrested for DWLS. During the search incident to the arrest Officers located a plastic baggie with suspected marijuana in the driver s pant pocket.
22 Possession of Controlled Substance w/o Prescription/ Obstruct P.O 1-Arrest 04/29/2017 9:29pm Melrose Ave. & Stahelin Rd. Officer s where on patrol in the area where Home Invasion was just reported. Officers observed subject walking in the area of Melrose & Stahelin. The subject had a lawnmower, two hand saw's, one longer branch saw and a smaller branch clipper. Officers investigated subject and when given identification Officers found it to be clear no record. Officers requested consent to search the subject. He gave Officers consent to search. During the search of subject Officers located a plastic baggie containing several white pills. Officers checked the pills on drugs.com. The pills were found to be a controlled substance. The pills were not in a prescription bottle, they were in a clear plastic bag with no name on the bag. The subject was placed under arrest for Violation of the Controlled Substance Act and Misrepresentation With Intent To Obstruct. Suspect was transported to Southfield Jail without incident. Note: The push mower and other equipment were placed into property for safe keeping. Not believed to be stolen at this time. Note: The suspect stated he was a sovereign citizen and he was from the Nation of Islam. The suspect s real name was discovered after running his finger print card.
23 OWI/ Possession of Marijuana- 1- Arrest 04/29/2017 1:42am Eight Mile Rd. & Northwestern Officer initiated a traffic stop for erratic driving at location. Officer made contact with the driver of the vehicle and suspected that she was intoxicated. Additional Officers responded to the stop and conducted an OWI investigation. The driver was arrested for OWI and Possession of Marijuana. Domestic Violence- 1- Arrest Block of Telegraph 4/29/ :46pm (Motel) Several Southfield Officers responded to Hotel on a report of a Domestic Assault. The investigation determined that the female was the primary aggressor. Male victim had significant scratches on the face. Medical attention was declined. Female was arrested and lodged without incident.
24 Felony Warrant- 1- Arrest 04/29/2017 6:46pm Block of Southfield Rd. Officers Woodside and Tallon observed a male conducting a narcotics transaction. Suspect was stopped and found to have Outstanding Warrants for Fraud and B&E. He was arrested and lodged w/o incident. Felony Warrant- 1- Arrest 04/29/2017 7:09pm Southfield Rd. & 8 Mile Rd. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. During the stop it was discovered that the driver had Outstanding Warrants for Possession of Cocaine and Firearms. The driver was taken into custody for the Warrants.
