April also marks the beginning of Dealer Days - our nationwide marketing effort to create awareness that STIHL products are sold though independent-servicing dealers. A fully-integrated marketing blitz will happen throughout Dealer Days which runs from April 18-May 29, Be sure to stock up on the promotion items (page 2) which will be featured in advertising and in-store marketing (and were highlighted in the 2016 Spring Booking Program). Spring POP materials were shipped the week of March 14th. Be sure you received your materials and have all of the appropriate hang tags, posters, etc. on your STIHL Concept Store display. Original battery model numbers corresponded to their approximate battery energy in Wh (i.e. AP 80 at 76 Wh). As battery energy increased, battery model numbers had to increase. New generations of batteries that will undoubtedly continue to improve over time will now be incorporated without a change to the battery model number. CONTEST RULES Dealers who have multiple locations, with centralized purchasing, will be eligible to win two trips per total company. Dealers may not switch to decentralized buying for the purpose of winning the trip. Dealers who already have separate purchasing must maintain or increase their volume at each dealership if any one store is to win. Dealership principals, managers, or employees dedicated to selling STIHL are eligible for the trip. All winners must be at least 18 years of age. Any IRS required taxes are the responsibility of the winning dealership. A valid passport is required for travel to Mexico. Dealers taking over existing dealership areas use purchase records of the previous dealership in area. If a multi-store dealership closes a location during the contest year, their purchases will be combined with the remaining dealership(s). New dealers (defined as dealers who began selling STIHL products after January 1, 2015) will compete on an adjusted base number determined by their Territory Manager and STIHL Northwest Sales & Marketing Manager. Dealers established from January 2015 will not be eligible for this contest. Trips that are won but not able to be taken by the dealer will be forfeited and awarded to the next eligible dealer. No cash equivalent will be given. Trips not earned in any category will be distributed at the discretion of STIHL Northwest. Dealer s account must be current at all times to be eligible to win a trip. STIHL Northwest reserves the right to modify or interpret trip rules and regulations with or without notice for good reason. 10 STIHL Northwest News 10 Bid Award Assistance New Form & Procedures STIHL Northwest recently introduced our NEW electronic Bid Award Assistance (BAA) Form. Along with the new form comes some new procedures for submitting your claims. Be sure to familiarize yourself with these new procedures, which can be found in the Policies & Procedures section of your SNW Dealer Support Manual. The new form is available for download now from STIHL ebiz. Please delete all other forms that you have been using for filing BAA claims. Effective May 1, 2016, any claims filed on any form other than this one will be returned to you. Effective immediately, all claim status inquiries, should be directed to Elizabeth Berry at or (757) ebiz Available in Spanish STIHL Inc recently enabled the functionality to allow the use of the Spanish language option in STIHL ebiz. To activate the Spanish language option, select Español under the language selection to the right of the User and Account information. Once selected, Spanish labels will be provided. You can revert to English by changing the option back to English (US). 11 STIHL Northwest News 11 Special Diagnostic Tools STIHL MDG 1 The STIHL MDG 1 engine analyzer with diagnostic software is designed for testing the newer STIHL M-Tronic and fuel injected products. It can also be used as a tachometer and carburetor adjusting tool for most products going back to Bulletin TI offers a complete description of the MDG 1 as well as computer requirements to operate the tool. Service technicians wishing to attend Gold level training or needing to recertify for Gold are required to have a MDG 1 in their service department. STIHL will continue introducing new products that will require the MDG 1 and SDS software to attain accurate diagnostic and troubleshooting information. ADG 1 & ADG 2 The ADG 1 & ADG 2 are designed to diagnose Lithium-Ion battery powered products. These units can be used with or without a computer connection. The same SDS software used for the MDG 1 allows testing with the ADG s while connected to a computer. The ADG 1 is for testing the battery and the ADG 2 is designed to test the unit. These tools provide fault codes that are required when processing a warranty claim for a battery or battery powered product. The benches are professional grade with stainless steel bench tops and drawers that are rated up to 400 lbs. STIHL Northwest has worked with Stanley Vidmar to offer several options from a basic 6 bench with legs on one side and storage cabinets on the other to a full setup with storage cabinets on both sides and a 22 riser with peg board backing to allow tools to be mounted on the bench and overhead storage.
