District has worked with City on Project since 2010 District respectfully declines to extend the City s 45-day period to grant consent or deny the Project as required by the Lease and the MOU executed by the City in July 2017 Page 12 of 23
13 WHY CAN T THE LANDING BE MOVED TO THE NORTH END OF TOWN? Existing Sausalito Ferry Terminal location has been a ferry landing for several generations Consistent with historical and current use Proposed Project has been environmentally cleared at this existing location Photo from Staff Report The Golden Gate Ferry Company secured landing sites at the foot of Princess Street (in almost the same location as the original Sausalito Land & Ferry Company landing site). 14 CAN THE LIGHTS BE TURNED OFF AT NIGHT WHEN THE BOATS ARE NOT THERE? Except for navigation and safety lighting, there will not be any lights on the replacement float or gangway after the last boat departs the landing The District is also investigating incorporating a method for the crew to turn the primary lights on the replacement float and gangway on and off during hours of darkness if there will be a long period of time between vessels Page 14 of 23

18 TO ADDRESS PROJECT SIZE AND AESTHETIC CONCERNS District significantly reduced size of facility 12 wide gangway is suboptimal during peak periods District modified gangway structure type I-beam will require more inspections and maintenance than originally proposed rounded pipes District modified gate type Transparent gate will require more maintenance District made many aesthetic changes Color, lighting, appearance of gangway and gate Page 18 of 23
19 TO ADDRESS YACHT CLUB AND INN ABOVE TIDE CONCERNS During the operation of the temporary pier, limit ferry vessel speeds to no more than 5 knots unless weather conditions or safety considerations require otherwise; Perform pre and post-construction crack surveys of SYC and IAT buildings and piers; Install vibration monitors on SYC and IAT structures; Monitor noise and vibration levels at SYC and IAT during pile installation; Install piles using vibration and drilling methods and not impact hammer methods; Limit pile installation to the period June 1 through June 30 and October 1 through November 30. No pile installation shall occur between July 1 and September 30; Page 19 of 23
20 TO ADDRESS SAUSALITO COMMUNITY CONCERNS District will not dock a ferry overnight without the City Manager s prior approval, unless there is an emergency In an event of an emergency, the District will notify City manager District will have ferry removed as soon as practical District will load and unload District ferry vessels one at a time, unless there is an emergency As required by District s operational and safety considerations, the District may continue to dock more than one ferry vessel at a time One year following commencement of permanent operations, and continuing annually thereafter, the District shall submit a written report to the City describing the number, dates and reasons for each incident that more than one vessel at a time was docked at the Ferry Landing Page 20 of 23
21 TO ADDRESS CONSTRUCTION CONCERNS Sausalito Parking Lot #1 will not be used as a construction staging area Construction will occur within Parking Lot #1 for a handful of days Contractor to comply with Sausalito Municipal Code Section , which governs the days and hours during which construction is allowed : Weekdays: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, construction allowed Saturdays: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, construction allowed Sundays: all day, construction prohibited Holidays officially recognized by the City not including Sundays: 9:00 am and 7:00 pm, construction allowed Contractor required to submit Traffic Control Plan Page 21 of 23
22 TO ADDRESS CONSTRUCTION CONCERNS Invite SYC, IAT and the City to its pre-bid meeting with prospective contractors; Meet with SYC, IAT and the City regularly during construction to provide 90-day forecasts of future construction activity Provide copies of its construction schedule to SYC, IAT and the City Provide SYC, IAT and the City with at least 30 days advance notice prior to pile installation construction activities.
