1 OAN 110/2018 MAN-TP T2 FUEL HYDRANT SHUTDOWN OAN REF:- 110/2018 DATE OF ISSUE:- 01/11/18 EFFECTIVE DATE:- 17/11/18 MANUAL REFERENCE(S):- N/A EXPIRY DATE:- 23/11/18 PLEASE ENSURE THIS INFORMATION IS PROMULGATED TO ALL STAFF 1.0 SUMMARY 1.1 In preparation for the construction of the new Pier 2 lounge in the Manchester Transformation Programme, a five-night programme of works to upgrade the fuel hydrant system for Terminal 2 (T2) will take place in November. Whilst work is in progress, aircraft hydrant fuelling will not be available to some stands in accordance with the schedule detailed below. 2.0 PROGRAMME 2.1 Overall, the programme of works will commence on the night of Sunday 18 th November at 19:00hrs and will be completed by the morning of Friday 23 rd November 2018 at 05:00hrs local. 3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS 3.1 The work will involve the following tasks; Closing fuel valves at various locations across T2. Opening fuel vents at various locations across T2. Drainage of the fuel hydrant system. Removal of the valve in Valve Chamber 5 (VC5) on Stand 216. Connection into VC13B on Stand 211, within compound. 3.2 All works will be across T2 pier served stands, several remote stands on the West Apron and on Taxiways (TWY) November-Alpha (NA) and Delta (D). Terminals 1 and 3 will not be affected by the shutdowns. 4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS 4.1 Stands affected by T2 fuel hydrant shutdowns Date Local hours 18 th Nov 19:00-05: th Nov 21:00-05: , 80-84, , OAN 110/2018 PAGE 1 OF 5
2 19 th 22 nd Nov inc. 05:00-21: th - 22 nd Nov inc. 21:00-05: Aircraft arriving after 21:00hrs on Sunday 18 th November Aircraft arriving off schedule or unplanned, after the fuel shut down, and requiring fuel will be parked on remote Stands where they can be fuelled and then towed to a pier served stand for passenger boarding. Passengers on the arriving flight will require bussing to the terminal. 4.3 Aircraft arriving after 21:00hrs Monday 19 th to Thursday 22 nd Should the need arise for an aircraft to be fuelled whilst parked on a stand affected by the fuel hydrant shutdown, an operational plan is in place to arrange a tow of the aircraft to an alternative stand that has a functioning fuel hydrant. 4.4 Stand, Road & Taxiway closures and restrictions Sunday 18th November 19:00-19:30 Std 72L Access required to VC8. Stand available- contractor can work around A/C 19:30-00:01 TWY NA TWY NA closed due to tanker on TWY. 20:00-05:00 Std 216 Contractor on stand Stand available for towed aircraft after setup following Airfield Ops. inspection. 20:00-00:01 Std 206 Stand closed. Tanker on stand centreline. 20:00-00:01 Std 209,213 Tanker in position for fuel drain down. Stands available following Airfield Ops. inspection. 20:00-05:00 Std 204/205 road Road between Stands 204 & 205 closed for access to VC4 21:00-00:01 Stands /211/215 Access to hydrant pots and vents required. Each open pot will be barriered locally. 03:00-03:30 Std 217 Access required to V18 to reinstate fuel supply to Std Monday 19 th Thursday 22 nd November 21:00-05:00 Std 204/205 Road between Stands 204 & 205 closed for access to VC4 21:00-21:30 Std 80R Access required to VC2 on road next to Std 80R 21:30-22:00 TWY D Access required to VC3 on TWY D abeam Std 32-short TWY closure 18:30-05:00 Std 211 Fuel hydrant connection in compound.
