1 6 Section D.1.3 Line Maintenance. Process Description The Line Maintenance Division, located primarily on the ramp at Dublin Airport provides aircraft turnaround, and aircraft maintenance support to contracted customers. It liaises with the Dublin Airport Authority while performing some tasks, including aircraft de-icing, towing and pushback services. This division operates a 24 by 7 shift system to support this operation. There are four locations utilised by line maintenance, Pier A, providing support for Narrow body aircraft, Pier B, supporting wide body long haul aircraft. A night operation, located in Hangar 6, providing cabin appearance, aircraft washing facilities and an aircraft A check facility, (Drawing Ref: H6IPPC Area 30) Hangar one for providing aircraft scheduled check maintenance requirements. (Drawing Ref: HlIPPC Area 21), The largest contract is with Aer Lingus, covering 20 narrow body Airbus airc body Airbus A330 aircraft. A small tool crib is used to distribute aircraft seat cleaning rags, maglite batteries, and some aircraft tooling. Air Emissions There are no emissions in this area Surface Water and Ground Water Emissions Line Maintenance provides aircraft de-icing services to customers. Equipment consists of a static rig, located adjacent to hangar one, storing hot water and Kilfi-ost ABC type 2 De-icing fluid. Two 4,000 litre mobile rigs are used to apply the de-icing fluid to aircraft on aircraft stands when precipitation exists. These procedures are based on recommendations of the Association of European Airlines (AEA). Jet Engine oil and Aircraft Hydraulic fluid. Jet Engine oil is supplied in metal quart cans, when the cans are opened and the oil is transferred to aircraft jet engines, the empty oil cans are removed to bunded holding area, on line maintenance. These cans are transported to the Hazardous Chemical Waste Storage area. These cans are removed from site by the licensed contractor National Recycling for recycling. Skydrol hydraulic fluid Skydrol hydraulic fluid is used to service aircraft hydraulic systems, supplied in either quart cans or gallon containers, when emptied, the cans are removed to bunded storage area, on line maintenance. These cans are transported to the Hazardous Chemical Waste Storage area. These cans are removed from site by the licensed contractor National Recycling for recycling.

2 Oil contaminated materials These are put in the designated collection barrels located at the storage area, on line maintenance, the barrels are transported to the Hazardous Chemical Waste Storage area. The barrels are removed by the licensed contractors Atlas environmental/shannon Environmental Services for treatment. Aircraft fuel tank sump fuel drain. Aircraft fuel tanks are sump drained to check for presence of water within the fuel. This waste fuel is disposed of within a bunded fuel container, located at aircraft stand 34. Oil is collected in a designated fuel bowser and when full the bowser is transported to the Hazardous Chemical Waste Storage area. This is removed from site by the licensed contractor Atlas Environmental for recycling. Cabin Appearance Water from Washing of Aircraft. (SE3) SR Technics performs an aircraft cleaning programme for Aer Lingus. In cabin appearance, hangar 6, aircraft washing water waste is discharged to the sewer system. The washing is limited to fuselage and wing external washing. Interior standard cleaning of seats is also performed. Aircraft Landing lamps, aircraft interior fluorescent lamp assemblies. These parts are stored in dedicated area, and collected by the licensed contractor Irish Lamp Recycling Co Ltd as required.

4 Section D.1 Recovered Jet A1 Aircraft fuel See approval letter M480/APl4MG Location: Garage building Drawing Ref: See below Process Description Recovered Jet A1 Aircraft fuel is removed from the fuel tanks in amounts ranging from a few hundred litres to approx. a thousand litres at a time. This fuel is transferred fiom the aircraft fuel tanks into a dedicated fuel bowser. The fuel is transferred from the fuel bowser into holding tanks in four different locations around the facility for reuse. The fuel is used in the air heater to heat the air within the bruntwood spray booth located at the west side hangar five (drawing ref: H5IPPC Area 8). The heat provided is used to assist in the paint drying process. The fuel is used in the air heater to heat the APU test cell located at the east side of hangar five (drawing ref: ETIPPC Area 2) The fuel is used in the Wanson boiler to heat water for use in the cleaning shop processes (drawing ref: H3IPPC Area 6) The fuel is used in the boiler to provide hot water used in the Karcher wash system in hanger three (drawing ref: H31IPC Area 5) Air Emissions There are four emission points associated with the above processes: a The Bruntwood spray booth (Emission point A69) The APU test cell (Emission point A82) The cleaning shop (Emission point A70) The hanger three Karcher wash system (Emission point A68) Sewer Emissions There are no emissions associated with this process Surface Water and Ground Water Emissions There are no direct emissions to ground or surface water from these processes.
