4 Airfield Equipment Parking Plan Purpose Statement The Airfield Equipment Parking Plan dictates the safe allocation of equipment parking areas at Manchester Airport. The plan indicates bays that are dedicated to specific companies, and all operators on airfield, should ensure they park only in those bays allocated to them. Airfield Operations monitor equipment parking, and issue infringements where non-conformance is identified. 1. Introduction Manchester Airport is dedicated to providing safe aircraft operations. In order to maintain airfield safety, airfield users are expected to store all equipment used to service, maintain and ensure turnaround targets are enhanced in a safe and secure manner. This is done through the allocation of parking areas across Manchester Airport. 2. Equipment Bay Allocation The allocation of equipment bays at Manchester Airport, is carried out in such a way as to ensure equality across all companies operating on airfield. When allocating a bay to a user, considerations are taken as to the following: a. Required space in m 2 b. Scale of operation at Manchester Airport c. Equipment to be parked in the allocated bays d. Current GSE allocation e. Use of current allocation, in terms of parking culture (efficient use of space) f. Impact of MTP and other airside works In taking the above into consideration, a robust decision making process allows effective allocation of airfield parking. Equipment parking bays are allocated by Airfield Operations. Any requests for additional parking areas or alterations to existing allocation should be made to Airfield Operations with at least a month s notice.
5 Airfield Equipment Parking Plan Equipment Bay Allocation Review Equipment bay allocation will be reviewed on weekly basis. The most up to date version of this document will be available online as part of the Manchester Airport weekly distribution document list. Bilateral conversations with affected parties will take place prior to changes to the online document and a collaborative approach will be taken to ensure requirements are met. The revision of this document is clearly displayed on the front cover and header of this document. When changes are made, a new revision will be issued (01-18 will become and so on until the new calendar year). This is supplemented by an effective date from which parking allocations are valid. Significant changes arising from major airside works such as the MTP project, and other major airside influences will be captured as part of this weekly document review process. Changes to ownership of equipment bays will be highlighted in YELLOW, any equipment bays removed from service will be highlighted in RED. Forward holding areas are highlighted in GREY.
