2 EN 71-9 SAFETY OF TOYS ORGANICCHEMICAL SUBSTANCES REQUIREMENT The tandard conider the following way of expoure of child organim to organic chemical ubtance: Inertion in mouth wallowing contact with kin contact with eye inhalation Potential preence of particular group of ubtance in a toy depend on the material ued (platic, wood, paper, textile, leather, liquid, urface treatment), potential way of expoure depend on toy type.

5 on Polymer Toy The term polymer ued in EN 71-9 tandard pecifie ynthetic polymer material including platic, rubber (thermoplatic or vulcanied), ilicone and thermoetting rein. The tandard doe not apply to polymer urface treatment (coating, pread, pray paint and layer) le than 0,5 mm thick. Requirement impoed by thi tandard relate to mot toy or any part thereof made of polymer, yet not all uch toy. The precondition for applicability of thi tandard i to place the particular toy within any of the following categorie:

7 on Polymer Toy The cope of aement for particular categorie ha been defined a follow: For toy made of polymer falling into the categorie 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 the aement concern monomer, oftener and olvent entering the organim upon migration For toy in category 5 the aement concern monomer and olvent entering the organim upon inhalation Toy in categorie 4 and 6 are aeed with repect to olvent only

Textile toy in the category 3 are aeed with repect olvent upon inhalation only.

All the toy in thi category are aeed with repect to colourant and primary aromatic amine.
