Never use chargers. These are not suitable for this type of battery. Do not short-circuit batteries. Do not subject batteries to mechanical damage (drilling, piercing, deforming, dismantling etc.). Keep batteries away from small children. Always store batteries under dry and cool conditions. Do not immerse batteries in liquids. Do not burn or heat batteries above the permissible temperature. Only keep batteries in the machine. No replacement battery! Protect batteries against direct sunlight, heat and naked flame never throw into a fire. Batteries can be used safely if properly handled according to the parameters specified by the manufacturer. Incorrect handling or conditions that lead to improper operation may result in leaks, escaping battery constituents and decomposition products. Generally, contact with escaping battery constituents may pose a hazard to health and the environment. Adequate body and breathing protection is therefore necessary in the case of contact with abnormal batteries (escaping constituents, deformation, discolouring, indentations etc.). On contact with fire, for example, batteries may react violently and battery constituents can be emitted with considerable energy. Handling and operational safety Batteries must be treated according to the manufacturer's specifications under all circumstances. This applies particularly to compliance with the limits for mechanical and thermal loading. VIKING type AAI battery: 0 C to max. +50 C VIKING batteries and robotic mowers are marketed jointly as product packages, which are adapted to one another. The batteries and robotic mowers must on no account be modified or manipulated. The battery is intended exclusively for fixed installation in a VIKING robotic mower. There, it is optimally protected and is charged when the robotic mower is in the docking station. No other charger must be used. The use of an unsuitable charger can result in danger due to electric shock, overheating or escaping corrosive battery fluid. Never charge or use damaged, deformed or defective batteries. 3 4 First-aid measures 4.1 Skin or eye contact with escaping substances (electrolyte) Should such contact occur, the affected areas must be thoroughly rinsed with water for at least 15 minutes. In addition to rinsing with water, a doctor must be always consulted in each case of eye contact. 4.2 Burns If burns have been caused, these must be treated appropriately. It is also recommended to urgently consult a doctor. 4.3 Respiratory passages In the case of intensive smoke formation and the release of gas, leave the room immediately. Consult a doctor in case of larger volumes and irritation of respiratory passages. Provide for adequate ventilation if possible. 4.4 Ingestion Rinse out the mouth and surrounding area with water. Consult a doctor immediately. 5 Fire-fighting measures In principle, battery fires can be fought using water. No special extinguishing agents are required. Fires in the surrounding area of the batteries should be fought using conventional extinguishing agents. A battery fire cannot be considered separately to a fire in the surrounding area. The spread of a fire to battery cells that have not yet reached the critical temperature for ignition ("thermal runaway"), is inhibited through the cooling effect of water. Reduce the fire hazard through the separation of large quantities and transportation out of the danger area. protective clothing, face protection, breathing protection). 7 Handling and storage The warning signs on batteries and the instruction manuals for machines and other applications must be carefully observed in all cases. Only use the recommended battery types. Batteries must preferably be stored at room temperature under dry conditions. Large temperature fluctuations should be avoided. Only store VIKING batteries in the permitted temperature range, see section 2 under "Handling and operational safety". When large quantities of batteries are stored, the local authorities and insurance companies should be consulted. 8 Limitation and monitoring of exposure / personal protective equipment Batteries are products from which no substances are released under normal and reasonable conditions of use. 9 Physical and chemical characteristics Compact battery pack with plastic covering. 10 Toxicological information There is no known health hazard in the case of proper handling and compliance with the general applicable hygiene regulations. 11 Environmental information No negative consequences for the environment are to be expected in the case of proper handling. 6 Measures for unintentional release Electrolyte may escape in the event of damage to the battery casing. The batteries must be sealed in an airtight plastic bag. Dry sand, chalk powder (CaCO3) or vermiculite should be added. Traces of electrolyte can be absorbed using dry kitchen roll. Direct skin contact must be prevented through the wearing of protective gloves. The area should be rinsed with plenty of water. Personal protective equipment should be used in accordance with the situation (protective gloves, 3/5

4 12 Note on disposal The crossed-out refuse bin symbol serves to remind that, within the European Economic Area (EEA), batteries may not be disposed of with household waste, but must be collected separately. Return used batteries to your VIKING or STIHL specialist dealer for free disposal or take them to an appropriate public collection point. Observe the regulations for environmentally friendly disposal applicable in your region. In order to prevent short circuits and the associated heating, batteries must never be stored or transported unprotected in loose batches. The batteries must be protected against short circuit when returned. Suitable measures against short circuit are e.g.: Inserting the batteries in the original packaging or in a plastic bag Masking of the terminals Embedding in dry sand 13 Transport information The commercial transport of batteries is subject to hazardous goods regulations. Transport preparations and transport must be performed exclusively by trained or instructed personnel and the process must be accompanied by appropriate experts or qualified companies Transport regulations Batteries are subject to the following hazardous goods regulations and exceptions in the relevant applicable version. Defective or damaged batteries are subject to more stringent regulations, which may extend to a complete ban on transport. The transport ban applies to transport by air (ICAO T.I., IATA DGR special provision A 154). Before transporting defective or damaged batteries, contact the STIHL sales company. For the transport of used but not damaged batteries, please refer to the relevant special provisions (SV 636) and the packaging instructions (P 903 / ADR). Waste batteries and batteries that are sent for recycling or disposal are prohibited in air transport (IATA special provision A 183). Exceptions must be approved by the responsible national authorities of the country of despatch and the country of the air carrier. 4/5
