3 SECTION 2 Rotary Dairy Platforms - Descriptions The platform is supported on a continuous ring footing with platform supports spaced at approximately one per 900mm at platform centerline or one per bail to achieve an even weight distribution at all times (removes the chances of subsidence at any one point). The platform rotates on large 180mm Diameter "Monomer Cast Nylon (type 6) rollers each possessing a high molecular density and low coefficient of friction to combine for a 6000kg load rating. This high load rating allows an unprecedented safety factor with the rollers spaced at approximately one per bail (900mm at platform centre-line). These rollers rotate with the platform tracking between two large section UB Girders formed to radius with the lower Girder fixed to the platform support posts and the upper Girder fixed to the platform itself. Each roller has a unique self aligning feature and are spaced by draw bars to maintain spacing s. The rollers themselves are protected by a colored HDPP plastic skirt to give protection against water but also Occupational Health and Safety Factors. The platform sub-frame and bail components are all laser cut to ensure a commonality of components. Location points for milk-lines and equipment are all pre-cut to a predetermined pattern to allow a trouble free installation of Milk-plant etc.the subframe is hot-dipped galvanized for durability with either galvanized or stainless steel nibs as an option. The drive wheels of either are tensioned outwards against the inside radius of the drive rail 180 degrees opposed with a 200mm pinch wheel tensioned on the outside radius, resulting in the surface traction of the drive wheel s being forced to work in conjunction with one another, not as separate independent units. Larger platforms have three such drives at 120 degrees locations to one another. The advantages have shown to be far less platform slippage and far less lateral forces applied to the drive shaft and bearings, resulting in greater reliability. The thickness of the concrete ranges from 120mm at the outer Nib to 100mm at the inner nib. Both nibs are welded to 12mm deformed bar pre-welded into a 200mm grid. This solution offers outstanding strength. A platform drain follows the inner nib with drainage ports located every 3rd or 4th bail, to either run the waste water vertically down to a domed center ring drain, or outwards and down to an outer ring drain. The platform drain is protected by a 375mm high HDPP plastic skirt attached to the front bail posts to stop any waste water from fouling the inner platform area.

5 SECTION 2 The full cabinet bail design features a tapered profile with 1020mm centers and they allow 700mm access clearance for the cows between the bails at gut height. A full cabinet style where all components are fully enclosed in a galvanized cabinet (Stainless Steel is an option) is available. A drop down jetter tray folds out from the bottom of the bail and points the wash jetters upwards. The full cabinet design features a quick clip on and removal, stainles ssteel front cover plate with no latching or hinging to allow easy access to equipment. External fit outs of the milk plant is desirable; although an internal fit out can be an option. (Internal fit outs have less room under the inner platform are due to the drive units.) Further information Rotary Dairy Platforms - Descriptions The bail structure is also a hot dipped galvanized structure as standard but may be stainless steel on request or a combination of the two. All circumference rails are clamped to the bail structures eliminating any exposed welding. Again these can be galvanized or stainless steel rails. 80nb mgp Lamp posts are provided at no more than 5000mm spacing. Bridge Nib plate is provided to form the bridge ready for concreting. Three platform control gates and posts are provided as standard. The entry and exit area of the plat form are protected by two control gates which instantly stop the platform should a cow become wedged between a moving bail and stationary post/rail during loading/unloading. The control gates also restart the platform when returned to an open position. A third manual control gate allows an operator to clear or start/stop the platform. Greenoak are also aware of the array of combinations of options which a client may request to personalise there platform to their own requirements, clockwise or anticlockwise rotation, internal external milk plant, platform height, feed bin options, to this end Greenoak utilise a modular technique in construction which allows these requests to be met with minimum disruption to the fabrication cycle. Greenoak Platforms are designed specifically for Strength and Durability to last the rigors of constant operation. All aspects of the design offer innovative solutions to not only provide the reliability required, but also to provide the operators with a safe clean work environment. All waste water is drained away from the operator and channeled to the one waste outer ring drain. This keeps the internal platform area drier and less prone to slippery surfaces. Full Platform skirts to the underside of the platform deck not only retain waste water but also completely isolate the platform rollers and drive units from unsupervised personnel.

12 SECTION 5 Rotary Dairy Platforms Automation System Parlour Automation allows the farmer to optimise the herd to achieve maximum profit. To do this, the farmer needs to automate as much as possible to reduce labour costs, as well as have some system in place to help assess the productivity of the herd. The SureLine Automation System has been designed with these key points in mind and the basic equipment required for a workable system follows. A Computer Computer Network Interface Identification Controller Antenna Transponders Milking Controller Feeding Controller Runs process management and cow database program A device that enables communication between the parlour equipment and the computer program via a network bus Converts transponder data and transfers it to the network bus Reads transponder data Small device with a unique number identifier that is fitted to the cow Controls cow milking hardware and records and sends cow and milk data to the computer Controls cow feeding hardware and stores ration and warning flag information on each cow in the herd Meter Manager with a milk meter can be connected to the Parlour Server network and PC, to record milk yields and display important data for the operator such as antibiotic, dry cows or even cows to be separated. ID Controller Antenna When the transponder on or inside the cow is picked up by the antenna, it is read by the ID controller and sent to the computer. The transponder number will be matched up with the cow number in the database and further processes can be recorded for the animal. The parlour server program can make calculations from its feed to yield functions and provide the cow with the correct ration of feed required in the parlour.

It monitors the automatic cow identification equipment, as well as feeding and ACR (automatic cluster removal) functions when milking is in progress. The cow database is maintained by collecting milk weight for each cow, which is stored in memory for milk production analysis and to calculate feed rations. The program is simple to operate and provides a means to manage the automation equipment as well as monitoring and controlling the herd for maximum profit. Minimum Hardware Requirements To install and use Parlour Server you must comply with at least the following hardware requirements: Pentium based IBM compatible Personal Computer (PC). 256MB RAM (minimum). 20GB hard disk drive, with at least 50MB free. Windows compatible mouse and keyboard. Spare serial port capable of 19,200bps communications. Windows compatible A4 black and white printer. USB interface Minimum Software Requirements To install and use Parlour Server your computer must use the Windows XP operating system Microsoft Word should be installed on the machine as this is used to view all reports.

This system uses a leg-strap based transponder and the antenna is buried in the ground. Greenoak Wash Trough SureLine Chemical Dispenser & Auto Wash Control Wash System Features Initial Rinse Detergent Wash Final Rinse: Cold Wash Only Option: A Cold rinse option only is available for farmers who only hot wash once a day. Periodically removing milk stone: Hypo-chlorite rinse can be replaced with an acid rinse to remove any build up of milk-stone. Alternatively, the detergent cycle can be replaced with a hot acid cycle if preferred. Pre-sanitizing the Pipe Line: The system can be set to the final rinse and run say 1 hour before milking to remove any bacterial build up. A Safety switch is provided to fit on the milk delivery line, to prevent the start of washing if the delivery line is still in the bulk tank. The system has the ability to add water to the wash trough after the solution has started to circulate. This is useful if your wash trough is not large enough, or you require further hot water to be added during wash, due to the loss of temperature on long pipe lines. The Automatic Wash Control can be added to non SURE-Line parlours with some modification to the milking system.

The pump is supplied fitted on top of a 80 litre vessel which acts as a water trap. There is a ball and filter inside the vessel to prevent debris from the parlour being sucked up into the pump. The pumps are also supplied with a full bore silencer which has an oil return nipple, this can be connected to a oil-reclaimer option if chosen. All pumps are supplied with a brass non return valve to prevent the pumps from running backwards when power is turned off. 17 SECTION 8 Rotary Dairy Platforms Separation Gate System The Sure-Line Separation Gate is used with the Sure-Line Parlour Server process management software to monitor and separate specific cows from the herd. The user must set up a separation flag in the program or via the Sure-Line Data Manager unit in the parlour for the cows requiring separation. Parlour Server monitors the identification of cows as they enter the separation area, with a local antenna buried in the ground and an Identification module. If a cow is to be separated, the gate will open, but will stay closed if a cow is not to be separated. An electronic movement sensor is used as feedback to the system as separated animals pass through the gate. The gate can be operated manually using the manual control box included in the separation gate local electronics system kit.

All power supplies, solenoids and control electronics are brought into the nerve centre and mounted on a control board. The gates are compressed-air driven with flow control valves at each cylinder for accurate adjustment and easy maintenance. The separation gate is constructed from high quality steel and galvanised for a long, rust-free life. Leg-strap identification is used as standard on the Sureline Separation Gate The ground antenna is supplied ready assembled on a wooden backing board and should be laid in the intended final position after fixing the steelwork in place. The antenna should be connected to the system and tested to make sure it reads efficiently before sinking permanently into the concrete. The electronics kit should be mounted at a reasonable proximity to the gate installation. A maximum distance of no more than 10 metres is recommended. It is also necessary to be able to view the movement of animals through the gating system as this is required when manually controlling the equipment.
