1 8-Station Fuse Block Retrofit nstruction Sheet (Series 5000 Unlits) Page l &STATON FUSE BLOCK RETROFT KT (Series 5000 Units) Description The following procedure details installation of this kit (P/N A) to include fuses between the hose/gun circuit and the triac in Series 5000 units in order to prevent damage to the triac or logic and control unit (LCU)l in the event of a hose or gun failure. These units were originally designed with no fusing of the triacs or LCU. This can result in d.amage to the triac(s) and LCU should a hose or gun fail or if a gun is improperly wired. Disconnect and lock out input electrical power from the unit before removing any panels or beginning this procedure. The input terminals remain electrically charged even with the main disconnect switch in the OFF position. 1. Place the main disconnect switch in the OFF position, then open the electrical enclosure door. 2. Remove all fuses from the existing 2-station fuse blocks on the electrical enclosure inne:r panel. Disconnect all wires and jumpers from the existing 2-station fuse blocks, then remove and discard the existing 2-station fuse blocks and their securing screws. 4. Peel away and discard the existing fuse block station labels from the inner panel. 5. Using Figure 1 as a guide and a No. 36 drill bit, add a second hole to the inner panel. A=525 N. Using the two fillister head screws from this kit, install the new &station fuse block in place of the old ones removed earlier. 8. Using the chart in Figure 2 as a guide, attach new fuse block station labels to the inner panel. NOTE: Number the fuse block stations beginning with the first station at the left, using only the labels indic:ated with an X and proceed to the right. Remove old wires 13, 18 and 50D that run from the main power contactor (KMl) to the fuse block, and replace them with new wires 13, 18 and 50D from this kit. 10. Using Figure 3 as a guide and the following text, wire the new fuse stations into the Series 5000 circuitry. NOTE: (All units) t may be necessary to remove existing cable straps in order to complete this step. Afterwards, install new cable straps from thlis kit. NOTE: (Piston pump units only) t will be necessary to remove the junction box cover in order to complete this step. Replace the cover after this step has been completed. Remove existing wire 62C from :XSl-B4 and XTl-5. c. Add new wire 24A from XSl-A4 to fuse FlO. d. Add new wire 24B from XSl-B4 to fuse FlO. e. Add new wire 62B from XTl-5 to fuse FlO. Dual Hose Units a. Complete steps a through e as a bove. b. Remove existing wire 62D from :XS2-A4 and XTl-6. c. Remove existing wire 62E from XS2-B4 and XTl-6. d. Add new wire 25A from XS2-A4 to fuse Fll. e. Add new wire 25B from XS2-B4 to fuse Fll. f. Add new wire 62D from XTl-6 to fuse Fll. Piston Pump Units a. Complete steps a through e as in Single Hose Units or steps a through f as in Dual Hose Units per your application. b. Disconnect existing wire 62F from XTl-5 and reconnect it to fuse F12. c. Relabel existing wire 62F as 26A. at XT3-10 and fuse F12. d. Relabel existing wire 62G as 26B at XT3-10 and pump heater. e. Using Figure 4 as a guide, reinstall all existing wires to the new &station fuse block. 12. NOTE: An &amp fuse should be installed at fuse block position FlO on all single-hose Series 5000 units. &amp fuses should be installed at fuse block positions FlO and Fll on all dual-hose Series 5000 units. The lo-amp fuse should be installed at fuse block position F12 on all piston pump Series 5000 units. 14. Close and latch the electrical enclosure door. 15.
