Prir t beginning, inspect the vehicles steering, driveline, and brake systems, paying clse attentin t the suspensin link arms and bushings, sway bars and bushings, tie rd ends, pitman arm, ball jints and wheel bearings. Als check the steering sectr-t-frame and all suspensin-t-frame attaching pints fr stress cracks. The verall vehicle must be in excellent wrking cnditin; repair r replace all wrn parts. Read instructins several times befre starting. Be sure yu have all needed parts and knw where they install. Read each step cmpletely as yu g. NOTES: Prir t beginning the installatin, check all parts and hardware in the bx with the parts list belw. If yu find a packaging errr, cntact Superlift directly. D nt cntact the dealer where the system was riginally purchased. Yu will need the cntrl number frm each bx when calling; this number is lcated at the bttm f the part number label and t the right f the bar cde. D nt fabricate any cmpnents t gain additinal suspensin height. Frnt end realignment is necessary. A ft-pund trque reading is given in parenthesis ( ) after each apprpriate fastener Tl and Wrench/Scket size is given in brackets { } after each apprpriate step. Prir t drilling r cutting, check behind the surface being wrked n fr any wires, lines, r hses that culd be damaged. Prep all cutting surfaces by remving all debris and frame catings. After drilling, file smth any burrs and sharp edges. Prir t perating a trch r saw, prtect any heat-sensitive cmpnents lcated in the immediate area by cvering them with a water-saturated clth. Mst undercating are flammable but can be extinguished using a water-filled spray bttle. Have a spray bttle and an ABC rated fire extinguisher n hand. Paint r undercat all expsed metal surfaces. Prir t attaching cmpnents, be sure all mating surfaces are free f grit, grease, undercating, etc. A factry service manual shuld be n hand fr reference.

Tw dentes that ne check-ff bx is fr the Driver Side (Left) and ne is fr the Passenger Side (Right). Unless therwise nted, always start with the Driver Side. FRONT DISASSEMBLY Save ALL factry cmpnents and hardware fr reuse, unless nted. 1) PREPARE VEHICLE... Chck rear tires and place transmissin in neutral. Raise frnt f vehicle with a jack and secure a jack stand beneath each frame rail. Ease the frame dwn nt the stands and place transmissin in park. Remve frnt tires. {Lug Nuts 22mm} Discnnect the Battery. [Illustratin 1] Remve any factry skid plates r belly pans that blck access t frnt suspensin cmpnents. {10mm, 15mm} 2) SWAY BAR BODY AND LINKS [Illustratin 2] On each side, lsen and remve the bushings and hardware attaching the sway bar link t the lwer cntrl arm and the sway bar bdy. {15mm} Tls Misc. Bushing with washer tp, bushing, extensin, bushing, bushing with washer bttm. Perfrm Steps 3-12 One Side At A Time. Start n the Driver Side and Cmplete Steps THEN g t the Passenger Side and Cmplete Steps ) STEERING TIE ROD END... [Illustratin 4] Remve the nut frm the tie rd end and using the apprpriate puller tl, remve tie rd frm knuckle. If yu d nt have a puller tl yu can use a hammer, by very carefully striking the tie rd bss f the knuckle; d nt strike the tie rd end. {21mm} 4) BRAKE LINE BRACKET AND ABS SENOR WIRE... [Illustratin 5] Unclip the ABS lines frm the brake line bracket n the upper cntrl arm. {plastic fastener remval tl} [Illustratin 6] Unclip the ABS lines frm the brake line bracket lcated n the frame. {plastic fastener remval tl} Illustratin 3 Illustratin 4 Illustratin 5 Illustratin 6

PAGE 8 OF 30 [Illustratin 7] Lcate the brake line bracket n the steering knuckle and remve. {10mm} [Illustratin 8] Unblt the brake line bracket frm the upper cntrl arm. {10mm} 5) BRAKE CALIPER... [Illustratin 9] Unblt the brake caliper and remve frm the rtr and secure it away frm the wrk area. D nt let calipers hang frm brake lines. Using a bungee strap, wire hk r wire, safely secure the calipers t the frame t remve the tensin frm the brake lines and t add wrking rm. {18mm} [Illustratin 10] Remve the trx blt retaining the rtr t the hub assembly, remve the brake rtr, and set it aside. {T30} 6) ABS SENSOR... [Illustratin 12] Remve the nut & washer securing the axle shaft t the hub assembly. {35mm} 8) KNUCKLE [Illustratins 13 & 14] Remve the nuts frm the upper and lwer ball jints, then using the apprpriate puller tl, discnnect the ball jints frm the knuckle. If yu d nt have a puller tl yu can use a hammer by very carefully striking the ball jint bss f the knuckle; d nt strike the ball jints. Remve knuckle frm vehicle. {upper ball jint 18mm, lwer ball jint 24mm} 9) LOWER CONTROL ARM... [Illustratin 15] Lsen but d nt remve the fur lwer cntrl arm blts (2 per side). {blt 18mm, nut 24mm} 10) STRUT REMOVAL [Illustratin 16] Remve the tw blts securing the strut t the lwer cntrl arm; allw the lwer cntrl arm t hang, while yu mve t the upper strut munt. {15mm} Illustratin 13 Illustratin 12 Illustratin 14 Illustratin 15 Illustratin 16

[Illustratin 17] Unclip the wire clips lcated n the tp f the studs. {plastic fastener remval tl} Illustratin 17 [Illustratin 18] Remve three nuts securing the strut t the frame then remve the strut. {18mm} 11) AXLE SHAFT next step. Fr 2WD systems, skip this step & prceed t the [Illustratin 19 & 20] Mark the lcatin f the CV axle shafts (driver and passenger side) fr later reference during reassembly. Remve the six blts that attach the axle shaft t the CV flange n the differential. {15mm} Remve the axle shaft frm the vehicle and set aside. 12) LOWER CONTROL ARM... Illustratin 18 [Illustratin 21] Remve the lwer cntrl arm s blts frm the frnt & rear crssmembers. NOTE: Once yu lsen the cntrl arm s blts, the weight f the arm is ging cause it t drp/swing dwn quickly. Remve the lwer cntrl arm. {24mm & 21mm} Repeat steps 3 thrugh 12 n the Passenger Side. 11 FORM# PRINTED IN U.S.A. Illustratin 22 13) REAR CROSSMEMBER... [Illustratin 22] Remve the rear crssmember frm the frame and discard. {18mm} 14) FRONT DRIVESHAFT... NOTE: Fr 2WD systems, prceed t step 18. [Illustratin 23] Mark the rientatin f the driveshaft fr reference during reassembly. Remve the fur blts securing the driveshaft. Secure the driveshaft up and ut f the way. {11mm} 15) RACK AND PINION STEERING... NOTE: The Rack & Pinin Steps ONLY ccur in Mdels Vehicles, Skip this Step & Prceed t Step 16. [Illustratin 24] Mark the rientatin f the steering shaft and pinin shaft fr later reference during reassembly. [Illustratin 25 & 26] Remve the blt securing the steering shaft t the pinin shaft, then remve the steering shaft frm the pinin shaft. {11mm} Illustratin 23 Illustratin 25 Illustratin 26 Illustratin 24 PAGE 11 OF 30

12 FORM# PRINTED IN U.S.A. [Illustratin 27] IF Illustratin 27 equipped with electrnic pwer steering, unplug the tw (2) cnnectrs. WITH the Battery Discnnected, carefully unplug the bttm tw plugs frm the rack and pinin. These plugs are lcked with plastic clips that must be mved t an unlcked psitin befre remval. The wire lm is cnnected t the differential in several places, make sure these are un-clipped befre remval f differential. {plastic fastener remval tl} [Illustratin 28] Supprt the rack and pinin with a jack. Remve the fur blts securing the rack and pinin t the frame, then carefully remve the rack and pinin frm the vehicle. {driver side 24mm, passenger side 18mm} 16) DIFFERENTIAL REMOVAL [Illustratin 29] Remve the electrical plug, wire lm, and vent hse frm the differential. Carefully lwer the differential husing t the flr. {driver side 18mm, passenger side 21mm} Illustratin 30 17) DIFFERENTIAL TRIMMING This Trimming is fr Vehicles ONLY! DO NOT Trim Vehicles. If Vehicle, Prceed t step 18. [Illustratin 32 & 33] On the Passenger Side f the differential, measure frm the back edge f the frnt slt twards the rear 0.75 and mark a line that runs parallel with the differential all the way acrss the tab then ut t the frnt. Using a band saw, reciprcating saw, r similar tl, cut the frnt differential tab ff. TAKE EXTREME CAUTION!! DO NOT CUT INTO THE DIFFERENTIAL MAIN TUBE!! Trim the munt AND the area up t the flange as marked. [Illustratin 32 & 33] Cntinuing n the Passenger Side f the differential, measure frm the back edge f the rear slt twards the rear 0.50 and mark a line that runs parallel with the differential. Using a band saw, reciprcating saw, r similar tl, trim the rear differential tab. Illustratin 31 This Trimming is fr Vehicles ONLY! DO NOT Trim Vehicles. Illustratin 32 Illustratin 33

Attach the 04 bracket t the factry passenger side differential munt using the factry hardware. D nt tighten at this time. {21mm} 21) DRIVER SIDE DIFFERENTIAL BRACKET... [Illustratin 40] Nte that the driver side differential bracket ( ) has a taper in it as well; psitin the bracket s that the tall end f the taper faces frward (t match the taper f the passenger side bracket). Als nte there is a ntch in the center f the bracket that accmmdates a tab in the center f the factry differential munt. Attach the 03 bracket t the factry munt using the factry blts. D nt tighten at this time. {3/4 } [Illustratin 42] Attach the Passenger Side f the differential t the 18 r 04 bracket using the supplied 5/8 x 1-3/4 blt(s), washer(s), and nylc nut(s). The blt(s) shuld be installed frm the tp, and the extra-thick flat washer(s) shuld be psitined under the nut(s). D nt tighten at this time. {15/16 } NOTE: Check the clearance n the Driver Side lwer cntrl arm munt where yu trimmed the factry munt. Trim mre if needed. Check the clearance n the Passenger Side between the differential munt bracket, the differential and/r rack and pinin.
