1 The measuring of compressed air pipeline can be done in differetn ways. We suggest an example of calculation where we fix a total pressure drop of the installation at 4%. To determinate the diameter of the tube it is necessary to know three basic parameters: WORKING PRESSURE: the most common case for compressed-air pipliens pressure is 7 bar. PIPELINE LENGHT : it is meant as the devolepment of the pipeline from the compressors to the most distant using point. FLOW RATE: It can be determinate knowing the consume of the equipment that need to be connected to the pipeline or knowing the declared flow rate of the compressor. INDICATIVE FLOW RATES OF THE COMPRESSORS AT 7 BAR To determinate such datum we create a tabel which summary the indicative flow rates of compressors at 7 bar based on their power. 3 TUBE DIAMETER FOR THE OUTLETS Specifications about available tube diameters for the outlets: Ø with flow rate up to 17 Nl/min Ø with flow rate up to 30 Nl/min Ø with flow rate up to 6000 Nl/min EXPANSION AND SHRINKAGE DUE TO THE HEAT All the materials under the effect of the heat variation referred to the installation temperature, expand themselves as soon as the temperature rise and shrink them when it decreases. To calculate this linear expansion - shrinkage we can use the following formula: L = T X L X a i.e.: L = linear expansion-shrinkage in mm T = heat variation between the operating temperature and the installation one at C L = tube lenght in m a= linear expansion factor (for the aluminium it is 0.04 mm/ m C) To compensate the heat expansion / shrinkage it is advise to use few precautions: to fix tube please use the collars 90810/908 so that the tube can easily slide the installation have to be positioned, considering at the two ends free space which permits the expansion - shrinkage and the supports have to be fixed as showed in the picture: EXAMPLE OF INSTALLATION G5-3

4 INSTALLATION TUBE Fittings ø - ø - ø - ø are fully assembled with tightened nut. Tubes of 4 and 6 m are painted, gauged and deburred. Insert the tube into the fitting until the abutting end off the fitting. 5 INSTALLATION OF THE TUBE The correct link of the tube is confirmed by the position of the arrow. If you need to cut the tube, we suggest to mark the lenght of the tube you want to insert into the fitting. 7 FITTING FOR OUTLET : ITEM 9035 AND ITEM 9036 This fitting is a valid alternative to the traditional swan-neck; it shows itself as a quicker and cheapest solution. The efficient internal system allows to the air to reach the using points without any condense which stays within the main circuit and than it can be dained in the most convenient point. The particular internal geometric shape allows to use the fitting vertically as well as horizontally. During horizontal installation please pay attention to keep the two internal holes turned up towards the upper side. G5-7
