1 GENERAL SPECIFICATION GS.No.GCG200E3 GENERAL The V-Torq Ⅱ is a pneumatic valve actuator using a vane air motor for its drive source. Opening and closing operations of manual valves can be very labor intensive, and a malfunction of a manual valve may cause a major accident at a plant, resulting in a large impact on the local community or natural environment. The V-Torq Ⅱ can be easily installed without removing an existing manual valve from the pipe line for easy automation. Consequently, valve malfunctions are eliminated, securing safe plant operation and saving labor. FEATURES (1) With the use of the attachment, the V-Torq Ⅱ can be easily installed without removing an existing manual valve from the line. (2) With the mechanical torque limiter having a novel mechanism, a correct shutoff torque can be obtained without damaging the target valve. (3) The drive source and signal transmission are both pneumatic, allowing safe use at hazardous sites and easy instrumentation. (4) The well-established vane air motor provides the robust and smooth rotation. Side handle type Top handle type (5) Equipped with a dedicated manual handle, emergency manual operation is available. (6) Spur gears are incorporated, allowing highly efficient operation. In addition, the main gear and shafts are protected against wear by induction hardening and surface nitriding. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION Overall Block Diagram The compressed air that passes through the master valve causes the air motor to run. This turning effort of the air motor is transmitted to the drive of the target valve through the channels shown in the block diagram below, allowing the target valve to open or close. 5 Pressure switch The pressure switch converts fully open/closed answer pneumatic signals output from the V-Torq Ⅱ into electric signals and sends the electric signals to a remote location such as the control room.
