3 94 Disassembly Order System The disassembly order system used in the parts list shows the relationship of one part to another. For a given item, replaceable parts making up the top assembly or subassembly depicts the relationship of the item to the associated next higher assembly. Number Column (No.) This column contains the callout or index number of a part on the exploded view assembly drawing. Each number corresponds to a (---) is shown, the part is either the top assembly for the drawing, or the part is not illustrated and therefore not called out. The illustrated parts list does not list or illustrate parts which lose their identity by being permanently welded or riveted to other pieces. Description Column (Description) This column lists the noun name of the item followed by any descriptor (Example: GAUGE, LOW SIDE). In this case GAUGE is the noun, and LOW SIDE is the descriptor. Qty (Units Per Assembly) The Qty column shows the total number of numbers required per assembly, per subassembly, and per sub-subassembly as applicable. For bulk items, the letters AR indicate as required. The letters REF, if used, indicate the item is listed for reference purposes. Part Number Column (Part No.) This column contains the part number of the item listed in the Description column. The abbreviation Ref. Only, if used, indicate the item is listed for reference purposes, but is not available for purchase. PARTS AND COMPONENTS Purpose This section provides illustrations and parts breakdown of all parts of the assembly(ies) shown on the title page which can be disassembled, repaired or replaced, and reassembled. HOW TO USE THE PARTS AND COMPONENTS ILLUSTRATED PARTS LISTING Part numbers beginning with RA are Replacement Assembly numbers. These numbers depict a kit of parts or assemblies used to repair or replace certain parts of the end item. Effectivity Column (Effectivity) Reference letters (A through Z except I and 0) are assigned to the Effectivity column to each top assembly in each illustrated parts model covered by the manual parts listing. The reference letter of the applicable top assembly is also shown in the Effectivity column for each detail part and subassembly. When no reference letter is shown for detail parts and subassemblies, the item is used on all top assemblies. Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) Incorporation Except as indicated below, assemblies, subassemblies and detail parts subject to by an issued service bulletin are annotated to show both pre and post service bulletin configuration. 43 MAIN COMPONENT DESCRIPTIONS 12V POWER SUPPLY Provides 12 Volts to power the circuit boards, all solenoids, and sensors requiring 12V power. AIR FLOW SENSOR Provides a signal voltage to tell the control board the fan is running. BOTTLE, OIL DRAIN Recovers the used oil during the oil drain process. BOTTLE, OIL INJECT Stores oil for injection into GAUGE, LOW SIDE Monitors low-side pressure of the vehicle being serviced. HIGH PRESSURE CUTOUT SWITCH Switch opens at 435 ± 10 psi (2999 ± 69 kpa) and resets at 320 ± 20 psi (2066 ± 137 kpa). If pressure in the high side of the system exceeds 435 psi (2999 kpa), the switch opens stopping all functions. INTERNAL STORAGE VESSEL (ISV) Storage tank where the recovered and recycled refrigerant is stored. Vapor, liquid, and air purge access is on-top of tank. BREAKER, CIRCUIT Protects the unit from drawing too much current. If tripped, unit is completely inoperative. CALIBRATION BALL Calibration standard that attaches to magnet under scale assembly. Used to verify scale calibration. CASTER 5 x 2 wheels used for maneuvering unit. CHECK VALVE one direction only. COMPRESSOR system being serviced into the ISV on the unit. COMPRESSOR CAPACITOR Used for starting the compressor, helping reduce the initial high current demand required by the compressor on start-up. COMPRESSOR OIL SEPARATOR Removes the compressor oil from the refrigerant leaving the compressor. New oil is returned to the compressor when the oil return solenoid receives power. CONTROL PANEL User interface panel, display, and keypad for controlling refrigerant recovery, recycling and recharging. DISPLAY/CONTROL BOARD Front display panel and main control of the unit. FAN Keeps the compressor from exceeding its normal operating temperature. The fan runs whenever the power switch is turned on. FILTER DRYER, SPIN-ON Used to remove moisture and particles from refrigerant. Must be changed every time 150 lbs of refrigerant is recovered. GAUGE, HIGH SIDE Monitor high-side pressure of the vehicle being serviced. KEYPAD Touch-pad providing the user interface for controlling, entering date, or navigating through the operation of the unit. LOW PRESSURE CUTOUT SWITCH This switch opens when refrigerant pressure reaches 40psi in the MANIFOLD BLOCK ASSEMBLY Internal block assembly that contains solenoids, check valves and assembly for proper distribution. MUFFLER, AIR EXHAUST Disperses excessive air from the ISV. Provides effective reduction of objectionable air exhaust noise. ORIFICE, UNION rate. POWER CORD Supplies main power to the unit. PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE, 450 PSI Spring loaded safety valve to release pressure from internal storage vessel if pressure exceeds 450 psi. POWER BOARD Controls power to all electrical components. REFRIGERANT IDENTIFIER and purity of refrigerant being recovered from a vehicle or being charged into the ISV from a storage tank. REFRIGERANT ID OIL DRAIN BLOCK This device the refrigerant ID test. This process prevents liquid refrigerant from entering the compressor and separates the refrigerant oil. TEMPERATURE PROBE Monitors the temperature inside the ISV. TRANSDUCER, ACCUM (SYSTEM OIL SEPARATOR) Measures the pressure within the system oil separator. TRANSDUCER, AIR PURGE Measures the pressure within the ISV.
