GENERAL SAFETY NORMS Th faturs of th ara whr work is taking plac must always b takn into considration: Do not stand in th working radius of th oprating machinry or any othr machin accssoris whn th quipmnt is running. 10 PREPARATION Prpar th work: Do not drink alcohol, tak drugs, or any othr substancs which may affct your ability to us th quipmnt bfor or whn working. Mak sur that thr is sufficint ful in th tractor to prvnt th machin from stopping during work. Do not us th quipmnt undr unsaf conditions,.g. do not mak tmporary rpairs just to start or kp working; do not work at night if th ara is not wll illuminatd. Whn working or xcuting maintnanc activitis, rmmbr: Th labls and stickrs providing instructions on th us of th quipmnt or information on dangrs must not b rmovd or hiddn, and must b lgibl. Do not rmov th safty dvics, covrs and safty guards, unlss maintnanc activitis ar bing carrid out. If th safty dvics must b rmovd, turn th ngin off, rmov thm corrctly and r-install thm bfor turning th tractor on. Do not lubricat, clan or adjust moving parts. Us th appropriat tools to xcut maintnanc or adjustmnt activitis on th quipmnt. Do not us damagd or unsuitabl tools,.g. plirs rathr than wrnchs tc. Prior to carrying out activitis on hydraulic lins undr prssur, or disconncting thir componnts, mak sur that th lin is no longr undr prssur and that it dos not contain any hot fluids. Chck all th fittings and mak sur that thy ar wll connctd bfor supplying prssur to th hydraulic lins. Mak sur that no tools, cloths or any othr matrials ar lft in aras whr moving parts ar prsnt whn th maintnanc and rpair activitis ar compltd. Do not giv dirctions and mak signals at th sam tim during a manuvr. Manuvr dirctions and signals must b givn from on prson only. Do not unxpctdly call an oprator, if not ncssary. Do not startl th oprator,.g. by throwing objcts. Pay attntion to popl in th vicinity of th work ara, spcially childrn! Mak sur that nobody is standing in th working rang of th quipmnt. Do not us th quipmnt to lift popl. Whn th quipmnt is not ndd, turn th ngin off, lav th vhicl on a flat surfac, with th first gar and th parking brak ngagd. Disngag th powr tak off. Do not xcut any claning, lubrication, rpair or adjustmnts whn th ngin is running and th quipmnt is in th raisd position. Do not work on stp slops, if th stability of th vhicl can b jopardizd. 11 SET-UP ATTACHMENT TO THE TRACTOR This tillr may b attachd to any tractor quippd with a Cat. 1 or 2, 3-point hitch with suitabl ball nds; it can also b attachd by mans of a Cat. 1 Quick Hitch. 3-POINT CATEGORY 1 HITCH To connct th tillr to th tractor's 3-point hitch, do th followng oprations: 1) Install both th uppr and th lowr link brackts with th hols facing down as shown in pictur 1; this givs you th standard A.S.A.E. vrtical dimnsion of 18" (pictur 1). 2) Rlas th bolts B and adjust th position of th brackts A to obtain standard A.S.A.E. horizontal displacmnt 26 7/8" (pictur 2). pictur 1 3) Rmov th cottr pins from th hitch pins (pictur 3). pictur 2 4) Rmov th lowr hitch pins from th lowr hitch brackts (pictur 3). pictur 3 Pag 8

12 SET-UP 5) Bfor attaching th quipmnt to th tractor, mak sur that th ground is smooth and flat and that nobody is standing btwn th tractor and th tillr; slowly mov th tractor towards th tillr by aligning th tractor liftr arms with th lift brackt hols (pictur 4); turn th ngin off and pull th brak. pictur 4 6) Insrt th lowr hitch pins through th hitch brackt and ball nds (pictur 5). 7) Scur thm by mans of th cottr pins which wr prviously rmovd (pictur 5). pictur 5 8) Connct th tractor top link to th third uppr point by rmoving th pin locatd btwn th two plats, insrting th top link and scuring it by mans of th hair pin. Shift th parking stand in th uppr position. 9) Adjust th top link so that th uppr part of th fram is paralll to th ground. Block all th linking parts by mans of th sway chains or arms. 10) Mak sur that th cntral unit axis (garbox assmbly) is paralll to th ground, thus minimizing th strsss on th powr tak off and incrasing th working lif of th quipmnt. Aftr xcuting all th abov mntiond activitis, mak sur that all th nuts and bolts ar tightnd. Pag 9

13 SET-UP 3-POINT CATEGORY 2 HITCH To connct th tillr to th tractor's Cat. 2, 3-point hitch, do th following oprations: 1) Install th uppr link brackt with th hols facing up and th lowr link brackts with th hols facing down as shown in pictur 6; this givs you th standard A.S.A.E. vrtical dimnsion of 20". pictur 6 2) Rla th bolts B and adjust th position of th brackts A (as shown in pictur 2) to obtain horizontal displacmnt 32 1/2" (pictur 7). pictur 7 3) Rmov th cottr pin, shift th pin to th gratr diamtr and rinsrt th cottr pin (pictur 8). pictur 8 4) Rpat th sam oprations as dscribd for Cat. 1 hitch. 14 SET-UP 3-POINT CATEGORY 1 QUICK HITCH Th N Sris Tillrs ar Cat. 1 Quick Hitch adaptabl. To attach th implmnt to th tractor it is ncssary to ordr th Quick Hitch Kit composd of 3 bushings. Th following oprations ar ndd: 1) Plac th bottom brackts with hols facing up and th uppr brackt with th hol facing down as shown in pictur 5; this givs you th standard A.S.A.E. dimnsion of 15" for Quick Hitch (pictur 9). 2) Rlas th bolts B and adjust th position of th brackts A to obtain horizontal displacmnt of 26 7/8" (pictur 2). pictur 9 3) Insrt th lowr bushing of th kit in th lowr hitchs (pictur 10). pictur 2 4) Insrt th lowr hitch pins through th hitch brackt and bushing (pictur 10). 5) Scur thm by mans of th hair pins which wr prviously rmovd (pictur 10). 6) Rpat th sam oprations from 3 to 5 for th uppr brackt with th uppr bushing. pictur 10 7) Bfor attaching th quipmnt to th tractor, mak sur that th ground is smooth and flat and that nobody is standing btwn th tractor and th tillr; slowly mov th tractor towards th tillr by aligning th tractor liftr arms with th brackt hols; turn th ngin off and pull th brak. 15 SET-UP 8) Lift th Quick Hitch until its hooks ngag th hitchs of th implmnt. 9) Rais th parking stand to th uppr position. PTO SHAFT CONNECTION Bfor installing th PTO shaft mak sur that th RPM rating and th dirction of rotation match thos of th tractor. Carfully rad th PTO shaft and tractor instructions. Furthrmor, accuratly rad th instructions of th manufacturr of th PTO shaft and of th tractor. Bfor starting any activity, mak sur that th guards ar installd on th powr tak off of th tractor and PTO shaft. Mak sur that thy covr th PTO shaft throughout its lngth. Whn fully xtndd, th plastic pips must ovrlap by at last 1/3 of th lngth of th pips (LT). Whn rtractd, th minimum accptabl claranc is 2. SLIP CLUTCH DRIVE SHAFT This tillr has a driv shaft with a slip clutch, which has bn calibratd for a crtain ovrload. To adjust th clutch, tightn or loosn bolts qually. Don t ovr-tightn or clutch will lock and not slip undr strss, which could caus damag during opration. Th clutch assmbly should gt warm (normal tmp F) undr normal opration. If th clutch gts xtrmly hot, this is a sign of slippag. If th machin sits for an xtndd priod of tim with no usag, th bolts should b loosnd and th PTO ngagd. This will allow th clutch discs to bcom fr again. Aftr a fw sconds, shut-off th tractor and rtightn bolts qually. Rchck clutch assmbly for tmpratur aftr using in tilling application. If it is too hot, th bolts nd tightning. If it is too cool, loosn bolts. Pag 12

16 SET-UP WORKING DEPTH ADJUSTMENT Th working dpth of th quipmnt dpnds on th position of th latral skids. If th skids ar raisd, th working dpth incrass; if th skids ar lowrd, th working dpth dcrass. To adjust th working dpth, loosn nut A (pictur 1 ), rmov nut B and adjust th skid hight according to th hols C. Whn th adjustmnt is compltd, tightn both th scrws to th corrct torqu, according to th valus suggstd in Torqu Spcifications, pag 5. IMPORTANT: Mak sur that th skids ar st at th sam hight on both sids. pictur 1 LEVELING BOARD ADJUSTMENT Th rar lvling board can b adjustd in hight to bttr compact th ground and mak it flat. Th adjustmnt can b mad by rlasing chains A (pictur 1 ) from uppr hooks B and insrting it back to th dsird hight. pictur 1 Pag 13

17 MAINTENANCE Ths activitis must b carrid out with th ngin off, th powr tak off disngagd and th hand brak applid. If ndd, lift th quipmnt and plac it on supports, thus prvnting any injuris that might b causd by a suddn fall of th quipmnt. START UP Aftr carrying out ths adjustmnts, th quipmnt is rady for us. Whn at th working ara, do not start th powr tak off with th tillr in working position in th ground. B sur to lift it by a fw cntimtrs using th tractor lift. Start th ngin, ngag th powr tak off, lowr th quipmnt to its working position and start. ROAD TRANSPORT With rfrnc to road transport, follow local traffic rgulations. SHUT DOWN Th following activitis ar rcommndd if th tillr will not b usd for a long priod of tim: 1. Clan and dry th quipmnt. 2. Inspct th quipmnt and rplac th damagd or worn parts if ncssary. 3. Tightn all th scrws and nuts. Lubricat and covr th machin with a tarpaulin and stor it in a dry plac. MAINTENANCE Maintnanc is crucial for th working lif and fficincy of any agricultural quipmnt. If th quipmnt is proprly maintaind and opratd, a long working lif and oprator safty ar assurd. Th maintnanc intrvals indicatd in this booklt ar providd as a mr rfrnc and ar rlatd to normal working conditions; changs may occur dpnding on th typ of activitis, nvironmntal dust, sasonal factors, tc. Bfor injcting lubricating gras into th gras fittings, clan th fittings to prvnt mud, dust, or any othr forign mattr from contaminating th gras and rducing th lubrication ffct. Whn adding or changing th oil, us th sam typ of oil to prvnt mixing oils with diffrnt faturs. All maintnanc activitis must b carrid out with th tillr rsting horizontally on th ground. Aftr using th quipmnt for a fw hours, mak sur that all th bolts (spcially tin bolts) ar tightnd; rgularly chck all th machin guards. FIRST CHECK Aftr 50 working hours, chang th oil in th garbox and mak sur that all th scrws and bolts ar tightnd. Pag 14

18 EVERY 8 WORKING HOURS Gras th PTO shaft crosss. EVERY 20 WORKING HOURS Gras th PTO shaft innr driv tub. MAINTENANCE EVERY 50 WORKING HOURS Chck th oil lvl in th xtrnal rotor baring through th inspction plug A. If ndd rmov th plug B and add SAE EP 80W90 oil (pictur 13). Chck th oil lvl in th cas/bvl gar pair by rmoving garbox s uppr oil plug (A - pictur 14). If ndd add SAE EP 80W90 oil. Chck th oil lvl in th sid transmission (A - pictur 15). If ndd add SAE EP 80W90 oil. Mak sur that all th scrws and bolts, spcially on th blads, ar tightnd. Chck slip-clutch spring tnsion (1050 Nm). EVERY 500 WORKING HOURS Chang th oil of th cas/bvl gar pair, sid transmission and rotor support; us SAE EP 80W90 oil. Contact th closst dalr for this maintnanc activity. pictur 13 pictur 14 pictur 15 Th old oil must b disposd of in complianc with th local laws whr ths activitis ar carrid out; do not spill or dispos of wast oil on th ground. Th maintnanc activitis must b carrid out with th ngin off, th powr tak off disngagd, th parking brak ngagd, and th quipmnt placd on th ground. Pag 15

19 REPLACING CLUTCH LININGS 1. Mount clutch assmbly in vis. 2. Rmov all bolts and nuts (Rf. A). 3. Disassmbl all componnts. 4. Chck th condition of all parts, friction plats spcially. 5. Rplac clutch linings (Rf. B). 6. Rassmbl th componnts, install spring with thir corrsponding bolts and nuts. 7. Tightn nuts following an altrnating cross pattrn until raching a hight of 27.6 mm (1.083"). 8. Chck that th hight is th sam for all springs. 9. Rinstall drivlin, making sur all shilds ar in plac. 20 SPARE PARTS BLADES REPLACEMENT To assur th optimum fficincy of th machin, mak sur that th tillr blads ar in a good working condition and that thir bolts ar tightnd; rplac thm if thy ar brokn or bnt. Th nw parts must b installd in th original position. Bfor rplacing th blads, turn th tractor ngin off, pull th parking brak, disngag th powr tak off, rais th tillr using th tractor lift, and install supports to prvnt accidntal dropping of th machin. Pay spcial attntion to th bolts A on th blads (pictur 16): th scrw had must b placd on th blad sid, with th washr and th nut on th flang sid, so that th bolts cannot loosn whil th quipmnt is bing usd. Whn svral blads must b rplacd, rplac on blad at a tim, so that th initial hlical layout is maintaind (pictur 16). pictur 16 HOW TO ORDER SPARE PARTS For spar parts rqusts plas rfr to our spar parts catalogu. Th spar parts can b ordrd from th dalr or srvic cntr. Th following data must always b spcifid: Equipmnt modl and width. Part numbr of th rqustd componnt.
