Th valus of capacity of th -alknschuh ar dtrmind by calculation assistd by tsting as dscribd in th EOTA Guidlin 015 claus Th dsign and construction of th connctions shall b carrid out according to national provisions that apply at th installation sit of th crtifid objct in lin with th partial safty factor format,.g. in accordanc with Eurocod 5. Th dsign modls allow th us of fastnrs dscribd in th Tabls on pag 14 in Annx A. Thradd nails or scrws in accordanc to EN In th quations in Annx th latral load-carrying capacitis for thradd nails and scrws wr usd. Thrfor th appropriat quations of Eurocod 5 for stl plat to timbr connctions may b usd assuming a thick stl plat. Furthr, th joist hangrs can b fastnd to a concrt structur or stl mmbr by bolts with a diamtr of 10 mm in hols with a diamtr of 11 mm. In accordanc with ETAG 015 th joist hangrs ar mad up of pr-galvanizd stl Grad S250GD+Z (min Z275) according to EN In rlation to th rquird corrosion protction for th nails and scrws to b usd with th joist hangrs national provisions that apply at th installation sit of th crtifid objct shall b considrd.g. Eurocod 5. In accordanc with Eurocod 5 - Tabl th nails and scrws to b usd may b of uncoatd stl for srvic class 1 and rquir corrosion protction F/Zn 12c or Z275 for srvic class If prsrvativ tratmnt of timbr is usd national rgulations will apply. 3 Attstation of conformity and CE marking 3.1 Attstation of conformity systm According to th dcision 97/638/EC of th Europan Commission 18 systm 2+ of th attstation of conformity applis. This systm of attstation of conformity is dfind as follows: Systm 2+: Dclaration of conformity of th product by th manufacturr on th basis of: a) Tasks for th manufacturr: (1) initial typ-tsting of th product, (2) factory production control, (3) tsting of sampls takn at th factory in accordanc with a prscribd tst plan EN 14592:2008+A1:2012 Timbr structurs - Dowl-typ fastnrs - Rquirmnts Official Journal of th Europan Communitis L 268/36 of Z /13

Not: Approvd bodis ar also rfrrd to as "notifid bodis". 3.2 Rsponsibilitis Tasks for th manufacturr Factory production control Th manufacturr shall xrcis prmannt intrnal control of production. All th lmnts, rquirmnts and provisions adoptd by th manufacturr shall b documntd in a systmatic mannr in th form of writtn policis and procdurs, including rcords of rsults prformd. Th factory production control shall insur that th product is in conformity with this Europan tchnical approval. Th manufacturr may only us raw matrials statd in th tchnical documntation of this Europan tchnical approval. Th factory production control shall b in accordanc with th "Control plan of rlating to th Europan tchnical approval ETA-08/0184" which is part of th tchnical documntation of th Europan tchnical approval. Th control plan is laid down in th contxt of th factory production control systm opratd by th manufacturr and dpositd with Dutschs Institut für autchnik 19. Th incoming raw matrials shall b subjct to controls and tsts by th manufacturr bfor accptanc. Chck of matrials, such as sht mtal, shall includ control of th inspction documnts prsntd by supplirs (comparison with nominal valus) by vrifying dimnsion and dtrmining matrial proprtis,.g. chmical composition, mchanical proprtis and zinc coating thicknss. Th manufacturd componnts shall b chckd visually and for dimnsion accuracy. Th control plan includs dtails of th xtnt, natur and frquncy of tsting and controls to b prformd within th factory production control. Th rsults of factory production control shall b rcordd and valuatd in accordanc with th provisions of th control plan. Th rcords includ at last th following information: - Dsignation of th product, basic matrial and componnts, - Typ of control or tsting, - Dat of manufactur of th product and dat of tsting of th product or basic matrial and componnts, - Rsult of control and tsting and, if appropriat, comparison with rquirmnts, - Signatur of prson rsponsibl for factory production control. Th rcords shall b prsntd to th approvd body involvd in th continuous survillanc and shall b prsntd to Dutschs Institut für autchnik on rqust Othr tasks for th manufacturr Th manufacturr shall, on th basis of a contract, involv a body which is approvd for th tasks rfrrd to in sction 3.1 in th fild of joist hangrs in ordr to undrtak th actions laid down in sction For this purpos, th control plan rfrrd to in sctions and shall b handd ovr by th manufacturr to th approvd body involvd. 19 Th control plan has bn dpositd at Dutschs Institut für autchnik and is only mad availabl to th approvd bodis involvd in th conformity attstation procdur. In such cass th ncssary initial typ tsting has to b agrd btwn Dutschs Institut für autchnik and th notifid body. Th manufacturr shall mak a dclaration of conformity, stating that th construction product is in conformity with th provisions of th Europan tchnical approval ETA-08/ Tasks for th notifid bodis Th approvd body shall prform th following tasks in accordanc with th provisions of th control plan: - initial inspction of factory and of factory production control, - continuous survillanc, assssmnt and approval of factory production control Initial inspction of th factory and of factory production control Th approvd body shall ascrtain that, in accordanc with th prscribd control plan, th factory, particularly th staff and quipmnt, and th factory production control, ar suitabl to nsur continuous and ordrly manufacturing of th joist hangrs in complianc with th spcifications of this Europan tchnical approval Continuous survillanc Th approvd body shall visit th factory at last twic a yar for routin inspctions. It shall b vrifid that th factory production control systm and th spcifid manufacturing procsss ar maintaind in accordanc with th control plan Othr tasks for th approvd body Th approvd body shall rtain th ssntial points of its actions rfrrd to abov and documnt th rsults obtaind and conclusions drawn in a writtn rport. Th crtification body shall mak th rsults of th continuous survillanc availabl to Dutschs Institut für autchnik upon dmand. Th crtification body appointd by th manufacturr shall issu an EC crtificat of conformity confirming complianc of th factory production control with th provisions of this Europan tchnical approval. In cass whr th provisions of th Europan tchnical approval and its control plan ar no longr fulfilld th crtification body shall withdraw th crtificat of conformity and inform Dutschs Institut für autchnik without dlay. 3.3 CE marking Th CE marking shall b affixd on ach packaging of th joist hangrs. Th initials "CE" shall b followd by th idntification numbr of th approvd crtification body and b accompanid by th following additional information: - th nam and addrss of th producr (lgal ntity rsponsibl for th manufactur), - th last two digits of th yar in which th CE marking was affixd, - th numbr of th EC crtificat for th factory production control, - th numbr of th Europan tchnical approval, - th numbr of th guidlin for Europan tchnical approval (ETAG 015), - th nam and th siz of th product. This Europan tchnical approval is issud for th product on th basis of agrd data/information, dpositd with th Dutschs Institut für autchnik, which idntifis th product that has bn assssd and judgd. Changs to th product or production procss, which could rsulting this dpositd data/information bing incorrct, should b notifid to Dutschs Institut für autchnik bfor th changs ar introducd. Dutschs Institut für autchnik will dcid whthr or not such changs affct th approval and consquntly th validity of th CE marking on th basis of th approval and if so whthr furthr assssmnt or altrations to th approval shall b ncssary. 4.2 Installation alknschuh connctions A joist hangr connction is dmd fit for its intndd us providd: adr - support conditions Th hadr shall b rstraind against rotation and b fr from wan undr th joist hangr. - If th hadr carris a joist only on on sid, th ccntricity momnt from th joist M v = F d ( / mm) shall b considrd at th strngth vrification of th hadr. Wood to wood connctions -alknschuh may b fastnd to wood or wood-basd mmbrs by nails or scrws. - Thr shall b nails or scrws in all hols or a partial nailing pattrn as prscribd in Annx and C may b usd (s drawings in Annx A). - Th dsign of th connctions shall b carrid out according to national provisions that apply at th installation sit of th crtifid objct in lin with th partial safty factor format,.g. in accordanc with Eurocod 5. - Th gap btwn th nd of th joist and th surfac of th hadr, whr contact strsss can occur during loading shall not xcd 3 mm. - For -alknschuh with ovrlapping nails or scrws in th hadr (confr Figur 8.5 in EN :2004+A1:2008) its width shall b at last l+4d, whr l is th lngth and d is th diamtr of th nail or th scrw in th hadr (s figur in Annx D). For joist hangrs with staggrd nails in th joist th width shall b at last th pntration lngth of th nails or scrws. - Th cross sction of th joist at th joist hangr shall hav sharp dgs at th lowr sid against th bottom plat, i.. it shall b without wan. J shall not b smallr than - 3 mm, whr is th innr width of th joist hangr. - Th hight of th joist shall b so larg that th top of th joist is at last 20 mm abov th uppr fastnr in th joist. - Nails or scrws to b usd shall hav a diamtr, which fit th hols of th joist hangrs. Nails shall hav a diamtr which is not smallr than th diamtr of th hol minus 1 mm. - To guarant fitting accuracy of th nails at th joist hangr an appropriat nail shall b usd (.g. with a truncatd con dirctly undr th had of th nail). Wood to concrt or stl connctions Th abov mntiond ruls for wood to wood connctions ar applicabl also for th connction btwn th joist and th joist hangr. - Th joist hangr shall b in clos contact with th concrt or stl ovr th whol fac. Thr shall b no intrmdiat layrs in btwn. - Th gap btwn th nd of th joist and th surfac, whr contact strss can occur during loading shall not xcd 3 mm. - Th bolt shall hav a diamtr not lss than th hol diamtr minus 1 mm. - Th bolts shall b placd symmtrically. Thr shall always b bolts in th uppr hols. - Th uppr bolts shall hav washrs according to EN ISO Rsponsibility of th manufacturr It is th rsponsibility of th manufacturr to nsur that th information on th spcific conditions givn in part II, sctions 1, 2, 4, and 5, of this ETA, is givn to thos concrnd. This information may b mad rplicating th rspctiv parts of this Europan tchnical approval. 5 Rcommndations 5.1 Packaging, transport and storag -alknschuh ar packd in boxs baring th manufacturr's nam, product typ, dimnsions, quantity, data of fabrication and batch rfrnc dtails.
