1 Instruction Sheet P/N Two Component Meter Cylinder Assembly Replacement WARNING: Allow only qualified personnel to perform the following tasks. Follow the safety instructions in this document and all other related documentation. WARNING: System or material pressurized. Relieve pressure. Failure to observe may result in serious injury.. Introduction This document describes replacement procedures for the following two component meter assemblies: major cylinder packing gland and plunger minor cylinder packing gland and plunger 2. Replacing Major Cylinder Components Refer to your system manual for a detailed system description. Follow the cylinder assembly bleed and removal procedures in the Repair section of your system manual. Perform these steps to replace the major cylinder packing gland assembly: Removing the Packing Gland and the Plunger. See Figure. Place the cylinder assembly (3) in a padded vice. 2. Pull the used plunger (2) from the cylinder assembly. NOTE: If the plunger is difficult to pull out of the packing gland, remove the plunger and the packing gland as an assembly. 3. Use a spanner wrench to remove the used packing gland assembly ().
2 2 Two Component Meter Cylinder Assembly Replacement Installing the Packing Gland and the Plunger. Make sure the inside of the cylinder assembly is clean and free of any material before installing the new packing gland assembly. CAUTION: Do not use petroleum-based lubricants. O-rings and seals could be damaged. 2. Apply synthetic oil to all parts, packing gland O-rings, and seals before assembly. CAUTION: Do not pinch or crimp O-rings during assembly. O-rings could be damaged. 3. Apply thread-locking compound to the new packing gland assembly thread. Thread the packing gland assembly into the cylinder assembly. 4. Use a spanner wrench to tighten the packing gland assembly to 54 N m ( 40 lb-ft). CAUTION: Do not damage the seals, when inserting the new plunger. 5. Insert the new plunger, tapered-end first, into the new packing gland assembly Nordson Corporation

Replacing Minor Cylinder Components Follow the cylinder assembly bleed and removal procedures in the Repair section of your system manual. Perform these steps to replace the minor cylinder packing gland assembly: Removing the Packing Gland Assembly. See Figure 2. Place the cylinder assembly (3) in a padded vice. 2. Pull the used plunger (2) from the cylinder assembly. NOTE: If the plunger is difficult to pull out of the packing gland, remove the plunger and the packing gland as an assembly. 3. Use a spanner wrench to remove the used packing gland assemblies () on both sides of the cylinder assembly.

O-rings could be damaged. 3. Apply thread-locking compound to the new packing gland assembly threads. Thread the packing gland assemblies into the cylinder assembly. 4. Use a spanner wrench to tighten the packing gland assemblies to 54 N m (40 lb-ft). 5.
