Report No M0260-D6N 1.0 INTRODUCTION At the request of Dominion Doors & Windows Ltd., Exova was retained to evaluate the physical performance of a Single Sliding Window identified as 1000 Series 4-1/2" Frame Single Slider Lift Out, in accordance with AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A Standard, NAFS 2011 North American Fenestration Standard/Specification for windows, doors, and skylights and A440S1-17 Canadian Supplement, as outlined in proposal number Tests results reported herein qualify similar frame window profiles, verified by Vision Extrusions consultant. See die drawings in Appendix A. Details and drawings of the described test specimen, as provided by the manufacturer, have been included in Appendix A. Product Type: Single Sliding Window Frame: Single Slider, Extruded PVC, 1600 mm x 1100 mm x 114 mm (63.00" x 43.31" x 4.50"), one fixed sash and one operable sash. Fixed Sash: Direct Glazed Sash with Fixed Meeting Stile, Extruded PVC, one, 61 mm x 41 mm (2.39" x 1.60"), each end mechanically fastened to frame with two #8 x 3" flat head screws. Fixed meeting stile ends sealed with flexible sealant on exterior face. Operable Sash: Lift-Out, Extruded PVC, one, 792 mm x 1118 mm x 36 mm (31.18" x 44.02" x 1.40"). Joinery: Frame: Welded, Mitred corners. Sash: Welded, Mitred corners. Air Leakage Test: - Two pile dust plugs, 17.0 mm x 15.0 mm x 8.0 mm (0.67" x 0.59" x 0.31"), were installed at the sill track insert at the operable meeting stile. - The original drain slots at the sill track insert, two slots 780 mm (30.71") from the fixed jamb and one slot at the end near the operable jamb toward the interior most upstanding leg, were enlarged to 25.4 mm x 10.0 mm (1.00" x 0.39"). - The original drain slot at the sill track insert, at the end near operable jamb towards the middle upstanding leg, was enlarged to 40 mm x 10.0 mm (1.57" x 0.39").
