Plus, enough flashing lights to light up a small town? Why, nothing else even comes close it is the ECTO-1A - the only vehicle for this spooky job. Whether it s slime in your refrigerator or dancing furniture or real ghosts in your TV, the ECTO-1A is always on call. Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters; that s who! They believe you. For the Modeler: This is a reissue of the Ghostbusters ECTO-1A 1:25 Scale Model Kit #AMT750/12. It is a 1:25 scale, skill level 2 kit for ages 10 and up. It features 90 highly detailed plastic pieces molded in white and clear with chrome pieces; a complete arsenal for bogey collecting and containment including interchangeable side announcement boards; Decals to decorate as either the ECTO-1 or ECTO-1A;

authentic heavily-modified 1959 ambulance; highly-detailed cutting-edge ghost busting technology; front and rear emergency light bars and flashers.

Also included are waterslide decals and illustrated instructions. Finished dimensions are 10L x 4.5H x 3.5W inches. Picture 1 This is a layout of the kits contents and box art. Model Master s Liquid Cement was used in this build. Paints used in this build were all Testors brand paints. The colors used were high gloss white, gloss black, flat black, light green, grey, gloss red, gloss silver, gloss green, gloss blue, turn signal amber, gloss yellow, flat blue, and dark grey. White, red, and black gel pens were also used. Fig. 3 I started this build by taking the body, washing it really good with soap and water and letting it dry. I attached tail fins (2 pieces), parts number 3LT and 2RT to the rear fenders. Fig. 3a I painted the body with 3 light coats of the high gloss white. I then set the body to dry while I worked on the interior. Once the body with thoroughly dry, I applied decal numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 28, and 29.

3 Fig 3b I took the front grill, part number 100, and backwashed it with a mix of flat black and lacquer thinner to darken the openings. I then applied the strobe light (2 pieces) and the flashers (2 pieces) to the front bumper. I then glued this assembly to the body. Fig 4 The light bar base, part 103, has 3 sections each containing 3 lights. For the outside sets paint the lights turn signal amber, then red, then green beginning with the outside each time. For the middle section paint the lights red, green, and red. Then glue the light bar cover (which is clear) to the light bar base. Glue the spot light, part 109, and the rear view mirror, part 108, together then glue to the body.

Fig 5 I then took the rear bumper, part 101, and the glued brake light lens (2 pieces) in place. Next, I glued the 4 bullet turn signals (2 pieces on each side) into the rear bumper.

Now paint the front of the sequential light, part 106, turn signal amber and install in the 2 holes on the top rear of the car.

The rear bumper assembly was then glued to the body. Glue the chrome trim (2 pieces), part 112, into the holes on each side of the back of the car. Now paint the front of the sequential light, part 106, turn signal amber and install in the 2 holes on the top rear of the car. Fig 8 I painted the instrument panel, part 13, the steering column, part 18, the steering wheel, part 14, and the interior tub, part 7, flat black. The CB radio, part 15, was painted white. The radar monitor, part 16, was painted gloss black. I painted the cell phone, part 17, flat black with white buttons using the white gel pen. Once the parts are all painted and dry, they need to be detailed with the gel pens as follows. On the instrument panel, I painted the numbers white and the bezel silver. The horn ring was painted. The top of the inside door panels white. The seat inserts were painted grey. The CB face was painted red. The floor carpet was painted with grey paint.

Paint the carrier center section, part 32, gloss white. The front carrier, part 36, and the carrier back, part 35, were painted gloss black.

Fig 11 Next the rack on the top of the car needs to be made. Paint the right carrier side, part 33, and the left carrier side, part 34, gloss black. Paint the carrier center section, part 32, gloss white. The front carrier, part 36, and the carrier back, part 35, were painted gloss black. The storage tube top and bottom (parts 24) are glued together and painted red. The switch panel, part 30, is painted white. The top tank half, part 41, the bottom tank half, part 42, the left tank end, part 44, and the right tank end, part 43, need to be glued all together and painted gloss white with gloss black straps. Starting with the center carrier section, glue the right carrier side and the left carrier side together. Then glue the carrier front and the carrier back into place onto the carrier center section. On the right hand side, glue the storage tube assembly into place.

Glue the plasmic accumulator, part 29, onto the deck on the back of the center section then paint it gloss black.

Put decal 18 onto the rear side of the storage tube facing out. Paint the antenna on the carrier side top silver.

7 Fig 15 On the center carrier section, paint the revolving light on the highest square red. Paint the 4 small lights around it green. Put the clear flasher dome on the revolving red light. Put decal 20 onto the left side of this square. Put decal 17 onto the front side of the storage tube facing out. Put decal 18 onto the rear side of the storage tube facing out. Paint the antenna on the carrier side top silver. Fig 16 Warning lights (1 piece), part 105, need to be painted as follows: beginning from the outer ends, paint the outer end green, the next section (between the dividers) blue, then turn signal amber, and finish with green. Glue the warning light to the top carrier section.

Fig 17c Take the Freon tank top, part 115, and the Freon tank bottom, part 116, and glue together. Glue this assembly to the mount behind the warning light.

Now glue to ectoplasm stability indicator dome (clear) into position behind the warning light.

Add decal 27 to the right end of the tank bottom and decal 21 to the front side of the tank. Now glue to ectoplasm stability indicator dome (clear) into position behind the warning light. Fig 15d The electronic canister (2 pieces), part 27, need to be glued together and painted flat black. Add decal 23 (2 decals) to the top of the electronic canister (there is a flat part toward each end). Add decal 22 (2 decals) to the bottom of the electronic canister in the center. Glue that assembly to the 2 dowels sticking up on the left side of the center carrier section.

Paint the X in the center of the reflector dish gloss black.

For the middle section paint the lights red, green, and red. Then glue the light bar cover (which is clear) to the light bar base.

Glue the directional flashers (use 2 pieces of the 4 pieces), part 111, to the notches in the white tank.

12 Install the panoramic mirror, part 110, into the body. Fig 20a Assemble 4 tires, the 4 inner wheels (part 20), and the 4 outer wheels (part 102) and put on the chassis. Next glue assembled interior into the body. Then glue the assembled chassis into the body. Fig 20 Paint the chassis, part 19, flat black. I painted the exhaust, the rear axle, the drive shaft, and gas tank Testors steel. The transmission I painted Testors aluminum. I painted the oil pan white. Next glue assembled interior into the body. Then glue the assembled chassis into the body.

13 Fig 999 In conclusion of this build, I liked putting together this kit. It was simple and straight forward. I had no issues in the assembly of this kit. It produces a nice looking model.
