3 SAMSUN MAKINA SANAYI Samsun Makina Sanayi, SMS, este unul dintre cei mai importanti producatori de conducte pentru irigatii, apa potabila, apa uzata si echipamente pentru infrastructura; inca de la infiintare, din 1967, SMS asigura consultanta in proiectare, productie, instalare si punerea in functiune a echipamentelor produse in fabrica sa. SMS este una dintre cele mai mari fabrici din industria de prelucarere a fontei, cu echipamente si tehnologie avansata. Detine o zona de depozitare de m 2 si o zona de productie de m 2 in zona industriala Samsun si are o capacitate de productie de tone. Cu matrite manuale sau automate moderne pentru turnare se pot executa piese cu greutati intre 1kg si 15 tone. Functie de standard, gama de produse, domeniul de aplicatie si cerintele clientului, se pot aplica diverse protectii pentru apa potabila sau apa menajera. Acoperirea electrostatica cu vopsea bicomponenta epoxy sau acoperirea cu bitum aplicata prin sprayere sau acoperirea cu zinc sunt cele mai utilizate acoperiri de protectie. Toate produsele se testeaza la presiune hidrostatica. SMS are standuri de testare a pompelor de capacitate mare, de pana la 8000KW. SMS are implementat sistemul de management al calitatii ISO 90 aprobat de Bureau Veritas (BV). Samsun Makina Sanayi, SMS, is one of the main suppliers of irrigation, drinking water, waste water, and infrastructure equipment with necessary services for design, production, commissioning and assembling since it was established in Samsun,in SMS has one of the largest and best-equipped facilities in the manufacturing and casting industries. It is located in a m 2 open, m 2 closed area in the Samsun Industrial Zone, and has an annual casting capacity of tons. In the manual, automatic and resin mould lines, parts having weight between 1 kg to 15 tons can be molded and processed by modern machines. Depending on the standards, product range, application area, and customer requirements, different coating techniques that are suitable for drinking water and waste water are applied. Electrostatic epoxy powder paint, double component epoxy paint and bitumen paint applied by a spraying method on zinc coating are the most widespread applications. All products are hydrostatic tested. SMS has the highest capacity pump testing equipment in Turkey where pumps up to 8000kW can be tested. All processes are managed according to ISO 90: 2000 quality management system that is approved by Bureau Veritas (BV). Sertarul vanei pastreaza o curgere lina si fara obstacole a apei; elimina depozitatea de impuritati care ar putea bloca deschiderea vanei, precum si scurgerile dintre suptafetele metalice.contactul elastic este usor si se mentine perfect si asta permite schimbarea rapida a sertarului fara demontarea vanei. In schimb, atunci cand la vana sertar pana metalica au loc scurgeri, aceasta trebuie returnata in fabrica pentru a fi rectificate suprafetele ce asigura etansarea sau chiar inlocuite. Resilient seat gate valve has many advantages against old fashioned metal seated gate valve. Lack of valve pocket for gate seat maintains smooth and unobstructed waterway; eliminates depositing of impurities which may cause ineffective shut-off and leaking from metal to metal contact in time. Resilient seat contact is easily and perfectly maintained and this allows quick and perfect change of gate without dismantling the valve from pipeline when the rubber lining is worn out. In turn, when the metal-seated gate valve leaks, it should be returned to its factory for renewing and precise machining of metal seats, or it should be thrown away. VANA SERTAR PANA / 1.19 ACOPERIRE DE PROTECTIE / COATING Atat la interior cat si la exterior vanele sertar pana sunt acoperite cu vopsea epoxidica, de culoare albastru (RAL 50), pentru apa potabila. Alte tipuri de acoperiri si alte color sunt disponibile la cerere. Optional, la interior se poate aplica o protectie cu . / Inside and outside of resilient seat gate valves are coated by double fusion bonded epoxy powder, standard paint blue in color (RAL 50). Suitable for drinking water. Other types of paint and any color are available upon request. Inside enamel coated valves available upon request. Toate mesajele de atentionare sunt marcate cu un semn al exclamarii si cu cuvintele atentie, avertizare sau pericol. Aceste mesaje trebuie urmate cu strictete pentru a preintampina distrugerea echipamentului sau provocarea de vatamari a personalului. / All safety messages in the instructions are flagged with an exclamation symbol and the word Caution, Warning or Danger. MANIPULARE, DESPACHETARE SI INSTALARE / HANDLING, UNPACKING AND INSTALLATIONS 2.1 INSTRUCTIUNI DE MANIPULARE SI DESPACHETARE / HANDLING AND UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS Vanele sertar pana se furnizeaza impachetate pentru a asigura protectia lor in timpul transportului. La receptia vanelor, trebuie verificata integritatea lor, orice urma de distrugere trecandu-se in foaia de reclamatie. / SMS gate valves have been packaged to provide protection during shipment, however, it can be damaged in transport. Carefully inspect the valve for damage upon arrival and file a claim with the carrier if damage is apparent. Verificati corespondenta dintre produsele de pe avizul de expeditie si situatia faptica. / Check the packing list against the valve received to verify that the quantities, sizes and materials are correct. Daca vana se va depozita inainte de instalare, ea trebuie protejata de praf, mizerie sau materiale corozive si trebuie depozitata intr-un loc uscat, intunecat si racoros, preferabil intr-o incapere, fara sa fie expusa la actiunea directa a razelor solare. Daca nu poate fi depozitata decat afara, asezati vana pe pamant si protejati-o cu o prelata impotriva umezelii. Nu indepartati ambalajul inainte de verificare si instalare. / If the valve is to be stored before being installed, it should be protected from dirt, debris and corrosive materials and should be kept in dry, dark and cool conditions, preferably indoors, out of direct sunlight. If outdoors storage is unavoidable, support the valves off the ground and protect the valves with a watertight cover. Do not remove the valve packaging, until necessary for inspection or installation. Depozitati vana in pozitia aproape inchis pentru a proteja muchiile de etansare. / Store the valve with the gate in the slightly closed position to protect the sealing edge. Manipulare: Ridicarea necorespunzatoare a vanei poate provoca distrugerea ei. Ridicati vana folosind un cablu trecut pe sub ea. Nu ridicati niciodata vana de reductor, motor sau tija de operare. / Handling: Failure to lift the valve properly may cause damage. Lift the valve assembly with slings, chains or cables fastened around the valve body. Lifting devices may be fastened to rods running through bolt holes in the flanges. Do not fasten lifting devices to the gearbox or the actuator or the gate and never put any lifting devices through the seat opening. Aveti grija sa nu indepartati vopseaua de protectie in timpul manipularii. / Take care in handling the valve not to damage the parts and painting of valve. 2.2 INSTALARE / INSTALLATION Despachetati cu atentie vana si inspectati vizual pentru a constata eventualele deteriorari aparute in urma transportului, manevrarii sau depozitarii. / Carefully unpack the valve and inspect visually for damage during transport, handling and storage as this could adversely affect valve performance. Inspectati interiorul vanei si garnitura de etansare. Trebuie sa fie curate si sa nu prezinte urme de murdarie sau deteriorare. / Inspect the valve interior and rubber sealing. It should be clean, free from foreign matter or damage. Asigurati-va ca reteaua este golita de fluid. Trebuie luate masurile adecvate de protectie in cazul unui fluid toxic si/sau inflamabil. / Be sure the line is depressurized and drained. Proper care should be taken for protection against toxic and/or flammable fluids. Verificati ca distanta intre flansele conductei este subicienta pentru instalarea vanei fara distrugerea ei. / Check that the installation length between the pipe flanges is enough to position the valve without damaging. Verificati ca suruburile, piulitele si saibele sunt potrivite ca dimensiuni pentru conectarea flanselor. / Check the flange connection bolts-nuts and gaskets for proper size and length and be sure enough quantity. Intotdeauna vana va fi instalata in pozitie complet inchisa. / Always be sure that the gate is in the fullclosed position before installing the valve. Deschideti si inchideti vana de cateva ori pentru a verifica buna ei functionare. / If practical, actuate the valve through close/open and open/close cycles to check the correct function. 16

19 2. MANIPULARE, DESPACHETARE SI INSTALARE / HANDLING, UNPACKING AND INSTALLATIONS Inainte de instalare verificati flansele vanei. O flansa este plana iar cealalta este in relief. Suprafata de etansare trebuie sa fie plana, fara rizuri, adancituri, stropi de sudura, fara muchii ascutite sau pete de ulei. Verificati ca diametrul interior al flansei de pe conducta nu este prea mare astfel incat sa se reduca suprafata de etansare intre vana si teava. / Immediately prior to installation, check the flanges to which the valve is to be fastened. The flanges shall have a raised face or a flat face. The sealing face shall be flat, without burrs, grooves, weld spatters, sharp edges and free from oil. Check that the inside diameter of the flange or pipe bore is not too large as this will reduce the flange to valve sealing of the gasket face. Strangeti suruburile pana cand cele doua flanse ajung in contact. / Tighten the bolts in a crisscross fashion until the valve body (metal) touches the flange face. Nu sudati flansa de conducta cu vana montata pentru a nu deteriora garnitura de cauciuc din cauza temperaturii ridicate. / Do not weld a connecting flange to the pipe with the valve installed in order to avoid overheating of the rubber sealing. 17

TESTARI, DEFECTE, GARANTIE / TESTING, TROUBLESHOOTING, GUARANTEE 3.1 VERIFICARE / TESTING Deschideti si inchideti vana (daca este posibil, prin actionare manuala). / Open and close the valve (if possible by hand). Curatati interiorul conductei prin stropire cu un fluid compatibil cu cauciucul de etansare si cu fluidul din retea. / Clean the pipe interior with a rinsing fluid compatible with the rubber lining and process. Conectati motorul (daca este cazul) la reteaua electrica conform indicatiilor din manualul de utilizare a motorului. / Connect the actuator (if applicable) to the power supply in accordance with the user manual of the actuator. Verificati functionarea vanei si etanseitatea dupa punerea retelei sub presiune (presiunea de lucru). / Check the operation and tightness when the system is under (working) pressure. 3.2 INLOCUIREA GARNITURII O-RING DE ETANSARE A TIJEI / REPLACING SHAFT O-RINGS Desi vanele sertar pana cauciucat nu necesita de obicei operatii de intretinere, pot aparea scurgeri de apa pe la garnitura tijei de actionare. In aceasta situatie se inlocuieste foarte usor garnitura O-ring, fara demontarea vanei si chiar cu reteaua sub presiune. Ordinea operatiilor este urmatoarea: / Although SMS Resilient Seat Gate Valves are generally maintenance free valves, water leakage may be occured from shaft o-rings occasionally. Such a situation the o-rings should be replaced. The replacements of those are very simple and could be performed without dismantling the valve from the pipe line and under the pressure. The order of this process is as follows: Deschideti complet vana si asigurati-va ca este pe pozitia complet deschis. / Open the valve till the end and make sure it is fully open position. Indepartati capul din bronz (DN40 DN400) sau fonta ductila (DN250 DN700) de prindere a tijei prin desurubare. / Remove the bronze (DN 40 - DN 200) or ductile cast iron (DN DN 700) cap over the valve shaft by loosing it. Inlocuiti garnitura si O-ringul. / Replace the gasket and o-rings. Montati capul la loc prin insurubare pana se etanseaza bine. / Mount the cap to its place and check the full tightness of screw.! Atentie: inainte sa incepeti inlocuirea garniturii o-ring, asigurati-va ca vana este pe pozitia complet deschis. Altfel, cand veti desuruba capul, tija va fi impinsa in sus si poate produce accidente. / WARNING: Before start to o-ring replacement process make sure that the valve is in full open position. Otherwise, when the cap is opened the shaft may move upwards and harm the person performing the process. 18

Toate produsele defecte vor fi inlocuite de producator in intervalul acesta, in conditiile enuntate mai sus. Nu se accepta solicitarea de daune conexe rezultate ca urmare a defectarii produsului. Cumparatorul este singurul raspunzator de alegerea solutiei adecvate proiectului iar producatorul nu poate fi raspunzator in vreun fel. Echipamentele sau piesele produse de altii dar comercializate de SMS vor fi reparate sau inlocuite conform garantiei oferite de acestia firmei SMS. SMS nu garanteaza rezistenta la coroziune, eroziune, abraziune sau alte feluri de defectari daca nu se respecta perioadele de efectuare a operatiilor de intretinere. Garantia produsului se pierde daca clientul nu anunta imediat,in scris, aparitia unui pretins defect si foloseste in continuare produsul dupa reparatia efectuata de o persoana neautorizata de SMS sau nu returneaza produsul in aceeasi stare in care a fost livrat sau daca nu respecta instructiunile de instalare, utilizare si intretinere indicate de SMS, sau nu plateste pretul intregului contract. Garantia se pierde de asemenea, daca, dupa livrare se aduc modificari la produs, de exemplu, se foloseste alt motor de actionare decat cel livrat de SMS. De asemenea, garantia se pierde daca, dupa livrare, se opereaza modificari asupra produsului sau componentelor lui, cum ar fi, de exemplu, montarea unui motor de actionare altul decat cel livrat de SMS. TOATE COMEZILE ACCEPTATE SE SUPUN REGIMULUI DE GARANTIE DESCRIS MAI SUS CARE ARE INTAIETATE FATA DE ORICE ALTA GARANTIE OFERITA ANTERIOR. / Products, auxiliaries and parts thereof, of SMS valves, are guaranteed for a period of one year from date of shipment against defective workmanship and material only, when properly installed, operated and serviced in accordance with SMS s recommendations. Replacement for items of SMS valves will be made free of charge if proved to be defective within such time. No claim for special or consequential damages, transportation, or labor shall be allowed. Purchaser shall be solely responsible for determining suitability for use and in no event shall SMS be liable in this respect. Equipment or parts manufactured by others but furnished by SMS will be repaired or replaced, only to the extent provided in the original manufacturer s warranty to SMS. SMS does not guarantee resistance 19

22 3. TESTARI, DEFECTE, GARANTIE / TESTING, TROUBLESHOOTING, GUARANTEE to corrosion, erosion, abrasion or other sources of failure, nor does SMS guarantee a minimum length of service. Failure of the purchaser to give prompt written notice of any alleged defect under this guarantee forthwith upon its discovery, or use and possession thereof after an attempt has been made and completed by someone other than SMS or an authorized representative to remedy defects therein, or failure to return products or parts for replacement as herein provided, of failure to install, operate and maintain said products or parts according to instructions provided by SMS, of failure to pay the entire contract price when due, shall be a waiver of all rights under these representations. The foregoing guarantee shall be null and void, if, after shipment from our factory, the item is modified in any way or a component of another manufacturer, such as, but not limited to, an actuator is attached to the item by valves & controls other than an SMS Factory Service Personnel. All orders accepted shall be deemed accepted subject to this guarantee, which shall be exclusive of any other previous guarantee, and this shall be the only effective guarantee or warranty binding on SMS, anything to the contrary contained in the purchase order, or represented by any agent or employee of SMS, in writing or otherwise, notwithstanding, including but not limited to implied warranties. THE FOREGOING OBLIGATIONS ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER OBLIGATIONS AND LIABILITIES INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF FITNESS OR OF MERCHANTABILITY OR OTHERWISE, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED IN FACT OR BY LAW, AND STATE SMS ENTIRE AND EXCLUSIVE LIABILITY AND PURCHASER S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM IN CONNECTION WITH THIS SALE OR FURNISHING OF SERVICES, GOODS, OR PARTS, THEIR DESIGN, SUITABILITY FOR USE, INSTALLATION OR OPERATION. 3.5 LIMITAREA RASPUNDERII / LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SMS nu este niciodata raspunzator pentru daunele directe sau indirecte provocate de defectarea produselor SMS si este raspunzator doar in limita pretului contractului de bunuri sau servicii oferite. Orice revendicare poate fi solicitata in termen de maximum un an de la producerea evenimentului. / In no event shall SMS be liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential damages whatsoever, and SMS s liability, under no circumstances, will exceed the contract price for the goods and/or services for which liability is claimed. Any action for breach of contract, must be commenced within 1 year after the cause of the action has occurred. 20
