3 Acrylic: 12 mm acrylic with rabbet is used for the exterior cabinet door. The cabinet door is frosted white and the colour code is 96. Adjusting feet/screws: Units with plinth/legs: The adjusting screws under the plinth or the legs are adjustable up to 15 mm. The adjusting screws are made of steel with a diameter of 12 mm 6 mm feet, Tread M6. Adjusting screws are enclosed with all floor units, plinth and legs1 and 2. The bush is made of steel and mounted in advance. Units with adjustable feet: The adjusting screws under the Adjustable feet (bottom 22 mm) are adjustable up to 15 mm. Adjusting screws are enclosed with all floor units 1 and 2. The adjusting screws are made of steel with a diameter of 22 mm 10 mm feet, Gevind M8. The bush is made of steel and is mounted in advance. After mounting the adjusting feet the screws can be adjusted from the inside of the unit. This means that when the entire shelf has been mounted, it is still possible to level the shelf from the inside of the bottom units. To hide the screws, small caps are included. Page 3

4 Quadrant + Simplex Adjusting feet/screws: The floor units on adjustable feet must be mounted with the adjustable feets and back panels. (Without back panels - see "Room divider"). Units with adjustable feet are available in the depths 33 cm, and 42 cm and i the colours: white, grey, anthracite, pure white and black. The units are not made in veneer. The units with adjustable feets are mounted on a thicker bottom (22 mm) than the remaining assortment (12 mm (coloured) / 11 mm (veneer)). 5 Assembly: (in general) Assembly instructions are enclosed with each unit We strongly recommend that the assembly instructions are followed meticulously. The mounting instructions for units are the same; the instructions illustrate the principles of the mounting process. All that is needed for building the individual shelving unit e.g. fittings, lock brads, brackets, adjusting screws, mini fix, wheels or legs are packed along with each module. With back panels for wall hanging units, special wall mounting fittings are included. (Please see Package content, Appendix 2). We recommend unpacking all units before starting. Sort the parts in middleand exterior walls. Please note that for all floor units one side is marked ottom this side down. There will in some cases be excess fittings, because reservations are made for different variations. When extending a set of Quadrant shelves (with exception of 3-epths) is it very important that the exterior sides are moved (See assembly instructions no. 401 and 402, on The room divider is ordered as individual sides 38 cm height/width or 78 cm height/width. Exterior- and middle sides, exterior- and middle sides for room divider and partitions/shelves. (Please see Room divider ). Middle sides for room divider must be used, where 2 adjacent cubes are to be open at opposite sides of the shelving system. Room divider is therefore not unit packed. 3-epths consists of individual sides 38 cm height/width or 78 cm height/width. Exterior- and middle sides, connecting sides and partitions/shelves. (Please see 3-epths ). Connecting sides must be used, where 2 adjacent cubes have different depths. 3-epths are therefore not unit packed. Only units with equal height and equal width can be joint together. We strongly advise against combining floor- and wall units in one shelving system. The lock brads should be placed in the sides when these are lying flat on a hard surface. We recommend that the foam from the packages is placed in between to make sure the surfaces of the elements are not scratched. Please note that both floor- and wall units must be assembled with back panels, which are ordered separately. (Without back panels - see "Room divider"). All floor units must be assembled with plinth, adjustable feet, legs or wheels to be able to regulate any possible unevenness in the floor. Adjustable screws are included in units with plinth or legs. Floor units in height cm/width 78 cm and floor units in height cm/width 78 cm must be mounted with at least one vertical partition. 6 Shelf for cabinet in glass can not be used as a vertical partition. With wall hanging units and 3-epths for wall the support rail must always be applied. Wall hanging is depending on the material and structure of the wall and the screws and rawlplugs applied. Screws and rawlplugs for mounting the wall fittings and the support rail are not enclosed. For mounting exterior doors and drawers and the interior drawers (38 cm x 38 cm) the filing cabinet and trap door it is crucial that the cardboard templates, which are enclosed in the respective packages, are used. y using the template and the attached awl it is possible to mark where the holes for the mounting of the brackets should be. Examples of templates: Exterior doors and drawers can only be mounted in 40 cm x 40 cm units. The back panels are lacquered on both sides to ensure that the shelf is equally presentable from the back as from the front. Therefore it can stand alone in a room (does not have to be placed up against a wall). This is especially useful when room dividers in Quadrant/Simplex are made, where the back panel is mounted on opposite sides of the same shelf. 11 Cabel lead-in: In the Quadrant assortment there is a cable lead-in. The Cabel lead-in is used to create an elegant finish of the holes you drill in Quadrant for your cables AC-Reoler will be happy to drill the holes for the cable lead-in, as long as we receive a precise drawing of the positioning of the desired holes. Carrying capacity: Units on plinth, adjustable feet and legs : All units have a carrying capacity of 75 kg per unit incl. accessories. Glass- and wooden shelves have a carrying capacity of 10 kg each. Units on wheels: One set of wheels (4 pieces) carries 75 kg maximum incl. accessories. Shelves have a carrying capacity of 10 kg each. Wall units: Wall units in height 78 cm have a carrying capacity of 20 kg per unit incl. accessories. Wall units in height 40 cm have a carrying capacity of 20 kg per unit incl. accessories. The weight specifications are dependent on the texture of the wall and the mounting. Glass- and wooden shelves have a carrying capacity of 10 kg each. Common for all units are that the horizontal space between the partitions/shelves cannot exceed 50 cm. Page 11

12 Chipboard: Chipboard is a wooden fibre board (recycled wood, crushed and compressed) with a density of kilo/cubic metre. E1 approved. 11 mm chipboard is used for units and shelves in maple and oak. 15 mm chipboard is used for all fronts and doors in maple and oak. Cleaning: Wipe off Quadrant and Simplex with a moist, wrung cloth followed by a dry cloth. 14 oor stop: AC Reoler has developed a door stop in clear plastic, Lexan from GEA 123R transparent. The door stop is reversible for glass and wooden doors and is mounted in the holes at the top of the cabinet unit. Edges: The Quadrant edges are ¼ staf (outward bending) with a radius of 6.5 mm. The edges on Quadrant in Oak and Maple have a 6 mm fillet of solid oak/maple attached to all visible edges on the units and an 8 mm fillet of solid oak/maple attached to all visible edges on doors and drawers fronts. The Simplex edges have a straight slope of 0.5 mm x 0.5 mm and are lacquered with a matt water based coat, sheen 3, from Akzo Nobel. Fittings: L - Fitting - is used where 2 sides are connected - Fitting - is used where 4 sides are connected T - Fitting - is used where 3 sides are connected The fittings are locked with lock brads. (Please see Lock brads ). The fittings and the lock brads are enclosed with the units. Please note that there is often a surplus of fittings to allow different combinations and future expansions of the shelving system. If you need any extra fittings, due to a different set up than first planned, these are found on our homepage under Product elements. The fittings are produced in aluminium and patented Type no T6. 15 Fittings for wall mounting: Please see ack panels Guarantee: AC Reoler A/S assumes product liability provided all assembly instructions are followed meticulously. Glass: Glass doors are 4 mm hardened, frosted- or clear glass. Glass shelves are 4 mm hardened, clear glass. Halogen light: The halogen light is for a 10W bulb (max 10W). The halogen light has an expected lifespan of approx hours depending on the voltage. The halogen lights are made from aluminium coloured matt plastic yblend. The halogen lights require a transformer. (Please see: Transformer ). HF: A HF-board is a fibre board of fine wood fibres with a density of kilos per cubic metre E1 approved. 4 mm HF-board is used for the back panels and 3 mm HF is used for bedplates in the drawers. Hinges: The hinges for the interior doors are made of nickeled steel. For the glass doors, the hinges are mounted on a 29 mm aluminium fitting developed by AC Reoler. The fitting is UV-glued on the back of the glass door. (The glue is set hard under UV light). For the wooden doors, the hinges are mounted in 26 mm holes drilled inside the doors. The hinges for the exterior doors are made of nickeled steel. For the glass doors, the hinges are mounted on a 44 mm x 25 mm nickeled steel fitting developed by AC Reoler. The fitting is glued on the back of the glass door. For the wooden doors, the hinges are mounted in 35 mm holes drilled inside the doors. Holes: The holes in Quadrant are 2.3 mm for the wire brackets and 6.1 mm for the lock brads Page 15

18 Knobs: The knobs are made from matt aluminium. The knobs are cylindrical, 15.5 mm long and 10 mm in diameter. The knobs are mounted with clear silicone collars. The knobs are made from matt aluminium. The knobs are quadratic 30 mm x 30 mm. Lacquering: The coloured units, shelves, drawers and doors (white, grey, anthracite, pure white and black) are primed with UV lacquering and subsequently an UV topcoat is applied. The type of lacquer/colour is specially toned for AC-Reoler by Akzo Nobel: White, closest in nuance is RAL 9010 Grey, closest in nuance is RAL 7004 Anthracite, closest in nuance is RAL 7016 The lacquer has a medium sheen (25-30). The units, shelves, drawers and doors (pure white, black) are primed with UV varnish; subsequently an UV topcoat with tiny pellets is applied. This makes the surface a bit more granulated and the topcoat more durable. Pure white closest in nuance is RAL 9016 lack, closest in nuance is RAL 9011 The lacquer has a low sheen (5-6) Quadrant maple is coated twice with UV varnish. Quadrant oak is UV oil treated. (Please see Oil treatment ) All back panels are UV coated -White NCS S 0502-Y, Grey NCS S and anthracite is RAL ack panels for floor units are coated on both sides, and back panels for wall hanging units are coated only on the front. UV varnish is an acrylic lacquer hardened with UV light (ultra violet rays) Quadrant coatings comply with the E1 regulations. Lacquering with pellets: Quadrant in pure white and black is primed with UV varnish; subsequently an UV topcoat with tiny pellets is applied. 19 Legs: Units with legs are available in depth 23 cm, 33 cm, and 42 cm. All depths are available in 4 unit sizes: cm x 78 cm unit 40 cm x 78 cm unit 78 cm x 40 cm unit 40 cm x 40 cm unit Wine shelves, C-drawers, filing drawer and drawers are not available in depth 23 cm. All units must be mounted with a back panel. (Without back panels - see "Room divider"). 20 Lock brads: The lock brads fasten the fittings (Please see Fittings ). It is crucial that the lock brads are turned into the correct position otherwise the assembly will not be complete. In order to lock the brads, the basic rule is: Always turn towards the centre of each item. The lock brads should be placed in the sides when these are lying flat on a hard surface. We recommend that the foam from the packages is placed in between to make sure the surfaces of the elements are not scratched /4 1/4 1/4 1/4 The lock brads are 6 mm and made from a combination of steel and aluminium. The lock brads are enclosed with the fittings for each unit. A special assembly guide for the lock brads is also enclosed (orange paper). Maple: Maple is extensively used in the furniture industry. Maple is a hard type of wood and as such maintains a virtually unchanged look over time. The maple used for Quadrant is mainly originated in Western Europe, primarily France, Germany and elgium, where forest areas are re-planted. The maple used for Quadrant is a 0.6 mm veneer attached to 11 mm chipboard (type E1) for units and 15 mm chipboard (type E1) for fronts, doors and drawers. A 6 mm fillet of solid maple is attached to all visible edges on maple units and an 8 mm fillet of solid maple is attached to all visible edges on maple drawers and fronts. (Please see Veneer, MF-plates, Chipboard, and Material ) Marketing material: Only AC-Reoler's marketing material photos etc. can be used in the marketing of Quadrant. AC-Reoler must approve any and all marketing material before use. Page 20

35 Melamine: Melamine is an organic compound, working as a base, and used in the production of hard plastic used in the furniture industry. Therefore the melamine is a pattern staple durable surface in hard plastic. In the production of Simplex, the melamine is glued on MF-plates. The melamine in Simplex is a WHITE K 113 PE 120 g. This type of melamine has a granulated surface, which makes it very durable (compared to a smooth surface). Oak: Oak is widely used in the furniture industry. Oak is a very hard and old type of wood. As a finished piece of furniture, oak will take on a darker tone over the years. The oak used for Quadrant is mainly originated in Western Europe, Germany and Poland, where forest areas are re-planted. The oak used for Quadrant is a 0.6 mm veneer attached to 11mm chipboard (type E1) for all units and 15 mm chipboard (type E1) for fronts, doors and drawers. A 6 mm fillet of solid oak is attached to all visible edges on oak units and an 8 mm fillet of solid oak is attached to all visible edges on oak drawers and fronts. Quadrant Oak veneer is with, a white coated, UV oil treated. (Please see Veneer MF-plates, Chipboard, and Material ). Oil treatment: Quadrant Oak veneer is with, a white coated, UV oil treated. UV oil is a coating oil, in other words the oil closes the surface and is specially made for furniture use. The oil is applied with barrels and set hard with ultra violet rays. The surface is easy to wipe off, resistant to greasy fingers and does not require any subsequent treatment. At the same time it sustains the natural, matt surface of the wood. 42 Quadrant/Sales arguments: What is Quadrant? Quadrant is a unit system with closed sides and back panels. A finished Quadrant shelf resembles quadratic cubes, where double sides never occur regardless of how the system is combined. Quadrant is available in the colours white, pure white, grey, anthracite and black and in two types of veneer maple and oak - with solid maple/oak lists on all visible edges. In Quadrant Simplex the surfaces are coated with a strong white melamine, while the edges are flat with a raw look. Quadrant is available in 3 depths: 23 cm, 33 cm and 42 cm. Quadrant is available as a floor unit on plinth, adjustable feet, legs, or a floor unit on wheels, a floor unit on plinth, adjustable feet, legs as room divider or a floor unit on wheels as room divider, a wall unit and finally a 3 imension system a system where three depths can be combined in one set of shelves, as either floor units or for hanging on the wall. All floor units are produced so the set of shelves is equally presentable from the front as from the back. Quadrant is easily assembled, with elegant, patented, aluminium fittings, which gives the set of shelves a unique and distinctive look with the fine aluminium look in all joints. The Quadrant fittings ensure that double sides will never occur, neither during assembly, expansions or later modifications. Quadrant is assembled with a screwdriver only.
