The bake gea hub is combined with smatflex, a backlash-fee metal bellows coupling. Fictionally locked clamping ings ensue backlash-fee toque tansmission between moto and the ball scew spindle. Both sizes of the ROBA -alphastop ae suitable fo Fanuc sevo motos, sizes 6 to 30, o fo othe motos with the same fame size. The bake is deliveed with a connecting plug and a bushing. The standad coil voltages ae 24 VDC and 90 VDC. Othe voltages ae available on equest. The bake can easily be installed into pe-existing designs. Diffeent coupling sizes and a special adapto kit (see Fig. 1 cente and page 5) help to fit the device to the vaying shaft distances. Design Installation into pe-existing designs between the sevo moto and the bell housing is simple and possible without alteations. Howeve, alteing the bell housing can optimize the length of the dive, and theefoe, on vetical axes, the machine height. Function The ROBA -alphastop is a sping applied electomagnetic safety bake. Sping applied function: When the bake is de-enegised, the helical spings pess against the amatue disk. The oto is held between the amatue disk and the flange plate. The shaft is baked via the gea hub. Electomagnetic function: When the powe is switched on, a magnetic field is built up. The amatue disk is pulled against the sping foce to the coil caie. The bake is eleased and the shaft can otate feely. Safety bake function: The bake holds the coupled masses and loads safely and eliably in case of powe switched-off, powe failue o EMERGENCY STOP. On equest, it is also possible to delive ROBA -alphastop bakes with UL appoval. 3 Installation Instuctions Installation Conditions The pemitted shaft misalignments must not unde any cicumstances be exceeded! The axial un-out deviation of the scew-on suface to the shaft may not exceed the pemitted axial un-out toleance of 0,1 mm accoding to DIN Lage deviations can lead to a dop in toque, to continuous slipping of the oto (2) and to ove-heating. Please select the toleances of the hub (1, Size 100) and the shaft so that the hub toothing (1, Size 100) is not widened. Widening of the toothing leads to the oto (2) jamming on the hub (1) and theefoe to bake malfunctions. The oto (2) and the bake sufaces must be oil and geasefee. Size 32 Installation The bake must not be enegised befoe installation, as the manufactue-side oto (2) centeing can then no longe be guaanteed. a) Push the bake without Pats 1 and 3 onto the moto centeing. b) Fo Size 32: Mount the gea hub (1) though the oto (2) toothing onto the shaft cone (please make sue that the entie length of the keyway lies ove the entie hub (1)), and secue axially. Fo size 100 with aluminium oto: Install the gea hub (1) including the O-ing (4, lightly geased) via the oto (2) toothing onto the moto shaft. Bing the hub (1) into position so that the inspection dimension 6 ± 0,5 mm (Fig.) is poduced, and so that the O-ing (4) lies in the oto (2) toothing. c) Install the shaft coupling (3) accoding to the Installation and Opeational Instuctions. Electical Connection Inspection dimension 6 ± 0,5 O-ing The coil voltage is indicated on the Type tag as well as on the bake. DC cuent is necessay fo opeation. This can be poduced via a tansfome ectifie, a half-wave ectifie o a bidge ectifie. Switching can take place DC-side o AC-side. Howeve, DC-side switching has a faste connection time (bake engagement). If a faste disconnection time is equied, a special fast acting ectifie is necessay (please contact the manufactues if this is the case). 6 Futhe Options ROBA -topstop Modula Safety System fo A-Beaing-side Sevo Moto Attachment ROBA -topstop safety bakes wee developed fo opeation in gavity-loaded axes. They hold the axes safely in any position, even if the sevo moto is dismantled, fo example duing maintenance wok. Due to thei fitted flange dimensions, ROBA -topstop safety bakes can be easily integated into pe-existing constuctions between the sevo moto and the counteflange. 7 Guidelines Guidelines on the Declaation of Confomity A confomity evaluation has been caied out fo the poduct (electomagnetic safety bake) acc. the EC Low Voltage Diective 2006/95/EC. The confomity evaluation is set out in witing in a sepaate document and can be equested if equied. Guidelines on the EMC Diective (2004/108/EC) The poduct cannot be opeated independently accoding the EMC diective. Due to thei passive state, bakes ae also non-citical equipment acc. the EMC. Only afte integation of the poduct into an oveall system can this be evaluated in tems of the EMC. Fo electonic equipment, the evaluation has been veified fo the individual poduct in laboatoy conditions but not in the oveall system. Guidelines on the Machiney Diective (2006/42/EC) This poduct is a component fo installation into machines acc. the Machiney Diective 2006/42/EC. The bakes ae able to fulfil safety-oientated applications with elation to othe elements. The type and scope of necessay measues esult fom a isk analysis of the machine. The bake is then pat of the machine, and the machine manufactue evaluates the confomity of the safety device accoding to the diective. It is fobidden to stat use of the poduct until you have ensued that the machine accods with the specification laid down in the diective. Guidelines on the ATEX Diective Without a confomity evaluation, this poduct is not suitable fo use in aeas whee thee is a high dange of explosion. Classification and making acc. diective 94/9/EC must be caied out if this poduct is to be used in aeas whee thee is a dange of explosion.. Safety Guidelines Bakes may geneate the following isks, among othe things: Contact with voltage-caying components Contact with hot sufaces Hand injuies Dange of seizue Magnetic fields Duing the equied isk assessment when designing the machine o system, the danges involved must be evaluated and emoved by taking appopiate potective measues. To pevent injuy o damage, only pofessionals and specialists should wok on the devices. They must be familia with the dimensioning, tanspot, installation, initial opeation, maintenance and disposal accoding to the elevant standads and egulations. Application Conditions The catalogue values ae guideline values which have been detemined in test facilities. It may be necessay to cay out you own tests fo the intended application. When dimensioning the bakes, please emembe that installation situations, baking toque fluctuations, pemitted fiction wok, un-in behaviou and wea as well as geneal ambient conditions can all affect the given values. These factos should theefoe be caefully assessed, and alignments made accodingly. Mounting dimensions and connecting dimensions must be adjusted accoding to the size of the bake at the place of installation. The magnetic coils ae designed fo a elative duty cycle of 100 %, if no deviating values ae stated. The baking toque is dependent on the pesent un-in condition of the bakes. The bakes ae only designed fo dy unning. The toque is lost if the fiction sufaces come into contact with oil, gease, wate o simila substances, such as othe foeign substances. Ambient Tempeatue 20 C to + 40 C Eathing Connection The bake is designed fo Potection Class I. This potection coves not only the basic insulation, but also the connection of all conductive pats to the PE conducto on the fixed installation. If the basic insulation fails, no contact voltage will emain. Please cay out a standadized inspection of the PE conducto connections to all contactable metal pats. Potection (Mechanical) IP10: Potection against lage body sufaces and lage foeign bodies > 50 mm in diamete. Not potected against wate. (Electical) IP54: Dust-poof and potected against contact as well as against wate spay fom all diections. Howeve, functional components e.g. mains-side enegisation of the bakes with ectifies, phase demodulatos, ROBA -switch devices o simila contols can poduce distubance which lies above the allowed limit values.
