Choose a low gound speed so that you will not have to stop while on the slope. Do not mow on wet gass. Ties may lose taction. Avoid stating, stopping, o tuning on a slope. Do not make sudden changes in speed o diection, which could cause machine to oll ove. Spaking in this cicuit can not occu afte the chassis cable (nomally negative, black) is emoved fom the battey. Avoid electical spaking and its consequences by the following outines: Use potective goggles. Ensue that the fuel fille cap is mounted tightly and no flammable substances ae stoed in an open vessel. Activate the paking bake, tun off the fuel supply, and fasten the machine with appoved fastening devices, such as bands, chains, o staps, when tanspoting. Do not opeate this machine on public oadways. Check and abide by local taffic egulations befoe tanspoting the machine on any oad. Do not tow this machine: it may cause damage to the dive system. Load the unit onto tuck o taile by diving up amps of suitable stength using a slow speed. Do not lift! The machine is not intended to be lifted by hand. When loading o unloading this machine, do not exceed the maximum ecommended opeation angle of 10 O. Use exteme caution when loading the machine into a tuck o taile using amps. Thee is the possibility of seious injuy o death if the machine falls off the amps. IMPORTANT INFORMATION The paking bake is not sufficient to lock the machine in place duing tanspot. Ensue that the machine is well fastened to the tanspot vehicle. Always evese the machine onto the tanspot vehicle to avoid tipping it ove. Spak Aesto A spak aesto fo the muffle is available though any authoized Husqvana deale. Escaping hydaulic oil unde pessue can have sufficient foce to penetate the skin, causing seious injuy. If injued by escaping fluid, see a docto at once. Seious infection o eaction can develop if pope medical teatment is not administeed immediately. This mowe is equipped with an intenal combustion engine and should not be used on o nea any unimpoved foested, bush coveed o gassy lands unless the engine's system is equipped with a spak aeste meeting applicable local o state laws (if any). If a spak aeste is used, it should be maintained in effective woking ode by the opeato. 16

17 CONTROLS This opeato s manual descibes the Husqvana Zeo Tun Ride. The ide is fitted with a fou-stoke ovehead valve engine. Tansmission fom the engine is made via belt-diven hydaulic pumps. 18 CONTROLS Steeing Contol Leves The machine s speed and diection ae continuously vaiable using the two steeing contols. The steeing contols can be moved fowad o backwad about a neutal position. Futhemoe, thee is a neutal position, which is locked if the steeing contols ae moved outwad. When both contols ae in the neutal position (N), the machine stands still. By moving both contols an equal amount fowad o backwad, the machine moves in a staight line fowad o backwad espectively. In ode, fo example, to tun ight while moving fowad, move the ight contol towads the neutal position. The otation of the ight wheel is educed and the machine tuns to the ight. Zeo tun can be achieved by moving one contol backwad (behind the neutal position) and caefully moving the othe steeing contol fowad fom its neutal position. The otation diection when zeo tuning is detemined by which steeing contol is moved backwad behind the neutal position. If the left steeing contol is pulled backwad, the machine tuns to the left. Use exta cae when using this maneuve. If the steeing contols ae in uneven positions when standing still o do not fit in the slots fo moving the contols outwad, they can be adjusted. 19 CONTROLS Paking Bake The paking bake is found on the ight side of the machine. Pull the leve backwad to activate the bake and fowad to elease it. IMPORTANT INFORMATION The machine must stand absolutely still when applying the paking bake. Always set the paking bake befoe dismounting. Release the paking bake befoe moving the mowe. Paking bake not activated Thottle Contol The thottle contol egulates the engine speed and theeby the ate of otation of the blades. In ode to incease o decease the engine speed, the contol is moved fowad o back espectively. Avoid idling the engine fo long peiods, as thee is a isk of fouling the spak plugs. USE FULL THROTTLE WHEN MOWING, fo best mowe pefomance and battey chaging. Thottle contol Ignition Switch The ignition switch is placed on the contol panel and is used to stat and stop the engine. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Do not un the state fo moe than five seconds each time. If the engine does not stat, wait about 10 seconds befoe etying. Ignition switch

20 CONTROLS Choke Contol The choke contol is used fo cold stats in ode to povide the engine with a iche fuel mixtue. Fo cold stats the thottle knob should be pushed fowad all of the way. Gasoline is highly flammable. Obseve caution and fill the tank outdoos (see the safety instuction). Refueling Read the safety instuctions befoe efueling. The machine has one fuel tank, just behind the seat. The tank volume is 3 gallons (11.4 lites). Make sue the fuel cap is popely tightened and the cap gasket is not damaged. The engine will un on a minimum of 85-octane unleaded gasoline (no oil mix). Envionmentally adapted alkylate gasoline can be used. See also Technical Data concening ethanol fuel. Methanol fuel is not allowed. Do not use E85 alcohol based fuel. Damage to engine and components may occu. Choke contol IMPORTANT INFORMATION Expeience indicates that alcohol blended fuels (called gasohol, ethanol o methanol) can attact moistue which leads to sepaation and fomation of acids duing stoage. Acidic gas can damage the fuel system of an engine while in stoage. To avoid engine poblems, the fuel system should be emptied befoe stoage of 30 days o longe. Dain the gas tank, stat the engine and let it un until the fuel lines and cabueto ae empty. Use fesh fuel the next season. See Stoage Instuctions fo additional infomation. Neve use engine o cabueto cleanes in the fuel tank o pemanent damage may occu. Fuel tank The engine and the exhaust system, become vey hot duing opeation. Risk fo buns if touched. Allow engine and exhaust system to cool befoe efueling Fill to bottom of fille neck. Do not ovefill. Wipe off any spilled oil o fuel. Do not stoe, spill o use gasoline nea an open flame.

21 CONTROLS Fuel Shut Off Valve The fuel shut off valve is located in the fuel line unde the seat. Tilt seat fowad fo access. The fuel valve is ON when the valve is paallel to the fuel line. Rotate the valve ¼ tun clockwise to tun fuel OFF. IMPORTANT INFORMATION In ode to obtain an even cutting height, it is impotant that the ai pessue is 15 psi in all ties. Fuel shut off valve in the OPEN position Mowe Deck Lifting Leve The lifting leve is used to place the mowe deck in the tanspot position o one of the 6 diffeent cutting height positions. The cutting height is set by placing a leve in the notch fo the desied cutting height. The lifting leve can also be used to tempoaily adjust the cutting height, such as when passing a mino bump in the lawn. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Always use the high position (F) to tanspot. The mowe deck s lifting leve Tacking If the mowe is not tacking staight, check the ai pessue in both ea ties. Recommended ai pessue is 15 psi. (1 ba) Tacking must be checked on a flat and level concete o blacktop suface. If the unit still does not tack staight contact you Husqvana wokshop fo adjustments. 21

22 CONTROLS Blade Contol Leve To engage the mowe blades, slowly lift the leve up and into the lock notch. No adjustments o maintenance to be caied out unless: the engine stopped the ignition key emoved the paking bake activated Mowe deck blade contol leve in the disengaged position Bypass Linkages When pushing o pulling the mowe, be sue to engage the EZT Hydogea bypass linkages. The EZT bypass linkages ae located on the ea of the fame, below the ea engine guad. See Moving Machine By Hand in the Opeation section. Bypass linkages ae located close to the muffle. To pevent buns, the engine should be shut off and allowed to cool befoe the bypass linkage leves ae handled. Set bypass linkages into slots on both sides

Taining Due to unique steeing capabilities, zeo tun mowes ae fa moe maneuveable than typical iding mowes. This section should be eviewed in its entiety pio to attempting to move the mowe unde its own powe. When fist opeating the mowe o until becoming comfotable with contols, use a educed thottle speed and educed gound speed. DO NOT move contol leves to the futhest fowad o evese positions duing initial opeation. Fist time uses should become familia with the mowe s movement on a had suface, such as concete o blacktop PRIOR to attempting to opeate on tuf. Until the opeato becomes comfotable with the mowe contols and zeo tuning capability, ovely aggessive maneuves may damage tuf. Steeing To move fowad and backwad The diection and speed of the mowe s movements ae effected by the movement of the contol leve(s) on each side of mowe. The left contol leve contols the left wheel. The ight contol leve contols the ight wheel. Fist time uses should push the mowe (see Moving Machine By Hand in the Opeation section) to an open, flat aea without othe people, vehicles o obstacles neaby. To move the unit unde its own powe, the opeato must sit in the seat and stat the engine (see Befoe Stating in the Opeation section). Adjust the engine speed to idle, disengage the paking bake but do not engage the blades at this time. Rotate contol leves inwad. As long as the contol leves have not been moved fowad o backwads, the mowe will not move. Slowly move both contol leves fowad slightly. This will allow mowe to stat moving fowad in a staight line. Pull the contol leves back to the neutal position and the mowe should stop moving. Pull back slightly on contol leves, allowing the mowe to move backwads. Push the contol leves fowad to the neutal position and mowe should stop moving. To tun to the ight While moving in a fowad diection, pull the ight leve back towads the neutal position while maintaining the position of the left leve, this will slow the otation of the ight wheel and cause the machine to tun in that diection. To tun to the left While moving in a fowad diection pull the left leve back towads the neutal position while maintaining the position of the ight leve, this will slow the otation of the left wheel and cause the machine to tun in that diection. To zeo tun While moving in a fowad diection, fist pull both contol leves back until the mowe stops o slows damatically. Then by altenating one leve slightly to the fowad position and the othe in the evese position, complete the tun. IMPORTANT INFORMATION When contol leves ae in the evese position they etun to neutal when eleased. This may cause the mowe to suddenly stop. 23

24 OPERATION Befoe Stating Read the sections Safety Instuctions and Contols befoe stating the machine. Pefom the daily maintenance befoe stating (see Maintenance Schedule in the Maintenance section). Check that thee is sufficient fuel in the fuel tank. Adjust the seat to the desied position. The following conditions must be fulfilled befoe the engine can be stated: The dive must be seated on the seat. The blade contol leve fo engaging the mowe blades must be down in the lowe position. The paking bake must be on. Both steeing contols must be in the locked (oute) neutal position. Stat conditions Stating the Engine 1. Sit on the seat. 2. Raise the mowe deck by pulling the lifting leve upwad to the tanspot position (F). 3. Activate the paking bake. Raise the mowe deck Disengage the mowe blades by loweing the blade contol leve out of the lock notch and into the down position. 24 Set the blade contol leve to the down position

Tun to START position When the engine stats, immediately elease the ignition key back to the un position. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Do not un the state fo moe than 5 seconds each time. 27 OPERATION 11. Slowly slide the choke contol back to the middle position when the engine has stated. Set the engine speed with the thottle. Allow the engine to un at a modeate speed, appoximately mid thottle, fo 3-5 minutes befoe loading it too heavily. USE FULL THROTTLE WHEN MOWING (no choke). Engine exhaust and cetain vehicle components contain o emit chemicals consideed to cause cance, bith defects, o othe epoductive system damage. The engine exhaust contains cabon monoxide, which is a odoless, cololess, poisonous gas. Do not use the machine in enclosed spaces. Lead-acid batteies geneate explosive gases. Keep spaks, flame and smoking mateials away fom batteies. Always wea eye potection when aound batteies. Use full thottle when mowing IMPORTANT INFORMATION You mowe is equipped with a 12-volt negative gounded system. The othe vehicle must also be a 12-volt negative gounded system. Do not use you mowe to stat othe vehicles If the battey is too weak to stat the engine, it should be echaged. (See Battey in the Maintenance section.) Jumpe Cables Use 1. Connect each end of the RED cable to the POSITIVE (+) teminal on each battey, taking cae not to shot against chassis. 2. Connect one end of the BLACK cable to the NEGATIVE (-) teminal of the fully chaged battey. 3. Connect the othe end of the BLACK cable to a good CHASSIS GROUND on the mowe with the dischaged battey, away fom the fuel tank and battey. To emove cables, evese ode 4. Remove BLACK cable fist fom chassis and then fom the fully chaged battey. 5. Remove RED cable last fom both batteies. Jumpe cable connection

28 OPERATION Running 1. Release the paking bake by moving the leve downwad. NOTE: The mowe is equipped with an opeato pesence system. When the engine is unning, any attempt by the opeato to leave the seat without fist setting the paking bake will shut off the engine. 2. Move the steeing contols to the neutal position (N). Paking bake not activated Select the cutting height by placing the leve into the desied notch. Ensue that no one is nea mowe when engaging blade contol leve. 4. Move thottle contol to full thottle. 5. Engage the mowe blade by sliding the leve upwads and into the lock notch. 6. The machine s speed and diection ae continuously vaiable using the two steeing contols. When both contols ae in the neutal position, the machine stands still. By moving both contols an equal amount fowad o backwad, the machine moves in a staight line fowad o backwad espectively. In ode, fo example, to tun ight while moving fowad, move the ight contol towads the neutal position. The otation of the ight wheel is educed and the machine tuns to the ight. 29 OPERATION Opeating on Hills Read the Safety Instuctions Diving on Slopes in the Safety Instuctions. Do not dive up o down hills with slopes geate than 10 degees. Do not dive acoss slopes. The slowest speed possible should be used befoe stating up o down hills. Avoid stopping o changing speed on hills. If stopping is absolutely necessay, pull dive leves into the neutal position and push to the outside of the unit and engage the paking bake. To estat movement, elease the paking bake. Pull the contol leves back to the cente of the mowe and pess fowad to egain fowad motion. Make all tuns slowly. Stat conditions IMPORTANT INFORMATION When in evese, contol leves etun to neutal when eleased. This may cause the mowe to suddenly stop. 29

30 OPERATION Mowing Tips Obseve and flag ocks and othe fixed objects to avoid collisions. Begin with a high cutting height and educe it until the desied mowing esult is attained. The aveage lawn should be cut to 2½" (64 mm) duing the cool season and ove 3" (76 mm) duing the hot months. Fo healthie and bette looking lawns, mow often afte modeate gowth. Fo best cutting pefomance, gass ove 6" (15 cm) in height should be mowed twice. Make the fist cut elatively high, the second to the desied height. The mowing esult will be best with a high engine speed (the blades otate apidly) and low speed (the ide moves slowly). If the gass is not too long and dense, the diving speed can be inceased without negatively affecting the mowing esult. The finest lawns ae obtained by mowing often. The lawn becomes moe even and the gass clippings moe evenly distibuted ove the mown aea. The total time taken is not inceased as a highe opeating speed can be used without poo mowing esults. Avoid mowing wet lawns. The mowing esult is pooe because the wheels sink into the soft lawn, clumps build, and the gass clippings fasten unde the cowling. Hose the mowe deck undeside with wate afte each use. When cleaning, the mowe deck shall be aised into the tanspot position. Make sue the mowe is cooled and the engine is off. Use compessed ai to clean top suface of the deck. Avoid flooding wate on top suface, engine and electical components. When the mulching kit is used, it is impotant that the mowing inteval is fequent. 31 OPERATION Stopping the Engine Allow the engine to idle a minute in ode to attain nomal opeating tempeatue befoe stopping it, if it has been woked had. Avoid idling the engine fo longe peiods, as thee is a isk of the spak plugs fouling. Disengage the mowe deck by sliding the blade contol leve out of the lock notch and down into the lowe position. Disengage the mowe blades Raise the mowe deck by pulling the lifting leve upwad to the tanspot position. When the machine is standing still, activate the paking bake by pulling the leve backwad. Move the thottle to the minimum position (totoise symbol). Tun the ignition key to the stop position. Neve use choke to stop the engine. Move the steeing contols outwad. Remove key. Always emove key when leaving the mowe to pevent unauthoized use. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Leaving the ignition switch in any othe position than OFF will cause the battey to be dischaged. 32 OPERATION Moving Machine By Hand When pushing o pulling the mowe, be sue to engage the EZT Hydogea bypass linkages. Release linkages to hold in the bypass position. Release pak bake. To eengage the EZT s to dive, evese the above pocedue. Load the machine into tuck o taile by diving slowly up the amps. DO NOT LIFT! The machine is not intended to be lifted by hand Set bypass linkages into slots on both sides Bypass linkages ae located close to the muffle. Make no adjustments without: the engine stopped, the ignition key emoved, the paking bake activated Use exteme caution when loading the machine into a tuck o taile using amps. 35 MAINTENANCE Battey You mowe is equipped with a maintenance fee battey that does not need sevicing. Howeve, peiodic chaging of the battey with an automotive type battey chage will extend its life. Keep battey and teminals clean. Keep battey bolts tight. See chat fo chaging times. Cleaning battey and teminals Coosion and dit on the battey and teminals can cause the battey to leak powe. 1. Open the teminal access doos. 2. Disconnect BLACK battey cable fist, then the RED battey cable and emove the battey fom the machine. 3. Rinse the battey with plain wate and dy. 4. Clean teminals and battey cable ends with wie bush until shiny. 5. Coat teminals with gease o petoleum jelly 6. Reinstall battey. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Do not attempt to open o emove caps o coves. Lift seat and otate fowad. 2. Open teminal access doos 3. Using two ½" wenches disconnect BLACK battey cable then RED battey cable. 4. Using a 7 /16" wench, emove the bolts on eithe side of the teminal guad and lift off guad. 5. Caefully emove the battey fom the mowe. 6. Install new battey with teminals in the same position as the old battey. 7. Reinstall battey teminal guad. 8. Fist connect RED battey cable to positive (+) battey teminal with hex bolt and hex nut. 9. Connect BLACK gounding cable to negative (-) battey teminal with emaining hex bolt and hex nut. 10. 36 MAINTENANCE Safety System The machine is equipped with a safety system that pevents stating o diving unde the following conditions. The engine can only be stated when: 1. The mowe deck is disengaged. 2. The steeing contols ae in the oute, locked neutal position. 3. The dive is sitting in the dive s seat. 4. The paking bake is on. Make daily inspections to ensue that the safety system woks by attempting to stat the engine when one of the conditions is not met. Change the conditions and ty again. If the machine stats when one of these conditions is not met, tun the machine off and epai the safety system befoe using the machine again. Make sue the engine stops when the pak bake is not engaged and the opeato leaves the seated position. Check that the engine stops if the mowe blades ae engaged and the dive tempoaily moves off the dives seat. Stat conditions IMPORTANT INFORMATION In ode to be able to dive, the dive must sit in the seat and elease the paking bake befoe the steeing contols can be moved into the neutal position, othewise the engine will stop. Tie Pessues All ties should be at 15 psi / 103 kpa / 1 ba. Tie pessues

37 MAINTENANCE Paking Bake Visually check that no damage is found on the leve, links, o switch belonging to the paking bake. Pefom a standstill test and check that thee is sufficient baking action. To adjust the paking bake, contact the Husqvana sevice wokshop. Faulty adjustment can esult in educed baking ability and can cause an accident. V-belts Check evey 100 hous of opeation. Check fo sevee cacking and lage nicks. NOTE: The belt will show some small cacks in nomal opeation. The belts ae not adjustable. Replace belts if they begin to slip fom wea. Check fo pope opeation of paking bake Deck Belt To eplace deck belt Deck belt emoval. 1. Pak on a level suface. Apply pak bake. 2. Lowe the deck to the lowest cutting position. 3. Disengage the clutch by sliding the blade contol leve downwads. Disengage clutch to eplace deck belt Caefully lift the belt away fom belt keepes and off deck pulleys and emove fom deck. 5. Replace belt (efe to the belt outing decal on the deck) and e-engage clutch. Check deck belt fo excessive wea

38 MAINTENANCE EZT Belt To eplace EZT belt Pak the mowe on a level suface. Engage the pak bake. EZT belt emoval NOTE: Be caeful not to damage the fan blades on the EZT as this can affect cooling o damage the EZT. 1. Remove the deck belt (see To Replace Deck Belt in this section of the manual). 2. Ceate slack in the belt by pushing the sping loaded idle am inwad. Rotate am to elease belt tension. 3. The belt should now be able to be emoved fom the engine pulley and EZT pulleys. The engine and the exhaust system, become vey hot duing opeation. Risk fo buns if touched. Allow engine and exhaust system to cool befoe sevicing. Belt installation 1. Wap the EZT belt aound the EZT pulleys. 2. Route the belt aound the inside of the idle pulley. 3. Wap the belt aound the engine pulley. Cutting Blades To attain the best mowing effect, it is impotant that blades ae well shapened and not damaged. Replace blades that have been bent o cacked when hitting obstacles. Let the sevice wokshop decide whethe a blade with lage nicks can be epaied/gound o must be eplaced. Balance the blades afte shapening. Check the blade mounts. Blades ae shap. Potect you hands with gloves and/o wap blades with a heavy cloth when handling. The shapening of blades should be caied out by an authoized sevice wokshop. Blade Replacement 1. Remove blade bolt by tuning counteclockwise. 2. Install new o eshapened blade with stamped GRASS SIDE facing towads gound/gass (down) o THIS SIDE UP facing deck and spindle housing. 3. Seat the blade s opening fimly onto the spindle housing. 4. Tighten blade bolt secuely. 5. Toque blade bolt to ft/lbs (60-75 Nm). 2 3 IMPORTANT INFORMATION 1 38 Special blade bolt is heat teated. Replace with a Husqvana bolt if equied.
