INDUSTRY We are an industryleading manufacturer of power cords, cord sets, power strips, power plugs, power connectors and other power components. In tailor made solutions we can meet the highest demands. MARINE Our Shore Power connection system is the standard all over Europe. The MP16/32 boat inlets and cables are stylish and safe. Every marine product is designed to be practical and able to withstand the rigors of life at sea. That s why fleets of customers rely on our solutions.
3 Way ahead in E-mobility CHARGING TOMORROW: DISCHARGE THE ENVIRONMENT, SAVE ENERGY The number of electric cars, scooters and other electric vehicles is growing fast. Electric driving will result in cleaner air, a more silent city, less waste of energy and a decreasing dependency of fossil fuel. These values match with our company goals where people and planet will benefit before profit. We thrive for structured processes, documenting the complete lifecycle of a product to optimize the eco design. All reports and predictions about the use of Electric Vehicles (EV s) point at the same direction: straight up. But most governments can t keep pace with the growing demand for charge capacity. Moreover: most users of an EV prefer to charge their vehicles at home or at the office. This creates a major demand for privately installed charging equipment. Ratio Electric complies to such demand by developing a wide range of reliable products for plug-in hybrid or full electrical vehicles. We put all our energy in making durable products that enable you to save energy EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS: PROVEN PRODUCTS, CERTIFIED QUALITY All of our products are designed to be functional and robust to withstand any harsh environment. In the development and production we can rely on fifty years of experience. Our knowledge of techniques and methods is state of the art. It applies both to the hardware components and the communication between chargers and vehicles. Safety is our priority: if anything should go wrong (due to outside courses), the system will turn itself off immediately. There is also independent proof for the quality of our products and processes. All our EV charging systems comply to the IEC standard. Individual components such as plugs, connectors and sockets are compliant with the IEC standard and carry KEMA (DEKRA) approvals.
4 Matching the IEC EV standards IEC STANDARD The IEC standard describes 4 charge modes: I Mode 1: max. 16A AC 230/400V I Mode 2: max. 32A AC 230/400V I Mode 3: max. 63A AC 230/400V I Mode 4: max. 400A DC 1000V TAKE A NOTE: HIGH STANDARDS Standards for electric vehicles and charging stations are quite complex and still in development for some areas. The most important standards for EV charging are: I IEC Conductive Charging systems, general requirements I IEC Plugs, connectors, outlet sockets and vehicle inlets for conductive charging. For charging at home or at work mode 2 and mode 3 are most common. Mode 2 uses a standard domestic or industrial outlet. The charge cable must include an In Cable Control and Protection Device(IC-CPD). Mode 3 uses a dedicated EV outlet. The car type defines the type of plug and maximum charging current. Check with the manufacturer of the car for this information. All modes, except mode 1, require communication between vehicle and charge station. Modes 1, 2 and 3 use a battery charger inside the vehicle. Mode 4 uses an external battery charger that converts the AC in to DC. All modern electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles require communication with the charge station. IEC standard The plug configurations for mode 2 and 3 charging are described in the IEC standard: Type 1: based on the US SAE1772 standard. All American and Japanese cars (or other that use their technology) are supplied with this inlet. Type 2 is the European standard. European car makers will equip their cars with this inlet. Also infrastructure suppliers (Charging stations) in Europe use this standard for their outlets. Type 3 is a standard used in France and Italy on the infrastructure side. It uses shutters on the contacts for extra safety protection. Type 1 Type 2 Type 3
5 Birds eye on the benefits SAFE I Integrated ground fault circuit interrupter (RCD) 30mA and Mains Circuit Breaker (MCB). QUALITY PLUGS I Type 2 moulded plugs and connectors with crimped contacts, DEKRA approval. I Type 1 and type 3 assembly type connectors. QUALITY CABLE I PUR cable suitable for outdoor use and resistant to oil, dust and water. I Halogen free, low smoke. I Flexible at low temperatures and able to withstand mechanical impacts. I KEMA-KEUR. EV CHARGING SYSTEMS Ratio Electric produces portable and wall charging systems according to Mode 2. These chargers are always supplied with a fixed power cord and can easily be used at private locations such as home or company sites. At home you are no longer dependent of the presence of a free loading pole nearby. As a company you can respond to the fast rising number of EV s by offering employees and visitors their own charging point. I Continuous monitoring of ground presence (PE control). I PMW communication module, to set the maximum charge. current. MOULDED PLUGS FLEXIBLE I The charge current is selectable. Less charge current minimizes the risk of overload and in creases the battery life. Ratio Electric type 2 connectors are injection moulded. This ensures a watertight and tamperproof construction. A mould-in LED light indicates if power is available. I The wall chargers can be supplied with optional KwH meter and/or timer. EV CHARGING CABLES Regardless of the type of car and the distance that has to be bridged between the charge station and the car, Ratio Electric always offers you the cables that suits you best. The connectors are moulded in 3 steps (3K): After the wires are plugged into the housing, the basicmoulding form covers all wires and components. Soft grip black moulding. Green shell moulding.
6 EV wall chargers SPECIAL FEATURES Flexible solutions for at home and at the office JUST PLUG IN TO START CHARGING Because the charging cable has a fixed connection to the charger, you don t need to get the cable in and out of your car trunk every time you charge. Just pull the plug out of the holder of the charger and plug it into the car. ADJUSTABLE CHARGING POWER The charging power is adjustable. This avoids the risk of overloading the electrical installation. We advise to use the lowest possible power to extend the operating life of the battery and to minimize the loss of heat. We always recommend to use a separate electrical group for the charging outlet. When you just charge on low amp you may not need an extra group. MODULAR INSTALLATION The components of our charging systems can be installed in different ways. Check the pictures for examples and find the solution for your situation. I Impact resistant housing suited for inside and outside use (IP65). I Communication module according IEC I Standard Earth leakage protection type A (30mA), Circuit Breaker for Overvoltage protection. I Fixed power supply cable with CEE plug. I Fixed charge cable with type 1 or type 2 connector. I Straight or spiral(coiled) charging cable. I Optional KwH meter and/or timer. I Versions 16A and 32A 230V (single phase), 16A and 32A 400V (3 phase). I 3 phase versions can also be supplied with Earth leakage protection (RCD) type B. Charger and cable outside in a locked box.

8 EV Portable Chargers CHARGING FROM A STANDARD OUTLET SOCKET WITH A MAXIMUM SAFETY Our mobile chargers enable you to charge your EV when there is no (free) public charging point around. This situation is likely to occur since the number of public chargers does not keep up with the growth of EV s on the road. Ratio Electric mobile chargers provide ultimate safety when you make use of a standard household (like Schuko) or CEE outlet. No worries when there is no public charging station available CHOICES IN PLUGS Ratio Electric mobile charge cables are available in two versions: I Schuko (or country specific) plug with a maximum charge power of 10A. I CEE plug with a maximum charge power of 16A. INTEGRATED FAILURE DETECTION AND POWER PROTECTION The IEC standard prescribes that a charging cable must have an In-cable Control and Protection Device (IC-CPD) when charging from a standard socket. This IC-CPD is integrated in the cable of our portable chargers. It limits the maximum charging power and safe - guards from earthing failures in the power supply. When problems are detected the system will shut itself down. Simple prevention of overpower The charging power can be lowered easily by pushing a button on the side of the IC-CPD. This prevents overpower of the electrical installation. Automatic restart after shutdown due to power failures Ratio Electric s mobile chargers are not just equipped with all safety require ments. They also provide a function that automatically restarts the system when the IC-CPD is turned off after a power supply failure. Just that there will be no unpleasant surprises when you want to drive off. Weather and shock proof charger housing The housing of the mobile chargers are: I Waterproof (IP67). I Impact resistant (500N run-over test). I Robust and compact (see specs).
