8 Holliday Party and 2013 in Pictures PAGE 8 YOU (yes, you!) were probably among the stars of the Valley Flyers Holiday Party on Saturday, December 14th, even if you couldn't make it to our very pleasant evening. We used the occasion to show a photo-slide highlight video of all our various events, repair/ building activities and club meetings during It was a pleasant look back at our members, their planes and a strong year for the Valley Flyers. Another slide show put the spotlight on our Reed Packard Award winner for this year, Randy Mytar. There were lots of photos of Randy's many decades of service and fun with the club. Thanks to Chuck Thompson for locating a lot of wonderful shots from the 60's and 70's. And there was a third video - with pictures of the Willie Gardner-led construction at both Apollo 11 Field and the Glendale Field. So perhaps you were among those who didn't make to the party. Good news: I am providing links to all three of those slide show videos... plus shots of the party itself. First, the tribute to Packard award winner Randy can be found here: v i m e o. com/ (Thanks to Bob Hope for helping us say "Thanks for the Memories.") Second, all work done by Willie and his merry band of coharts at the two fields can be seen at this link: tinyurl.com/le8efby (The fine music you'll hear with this video is courtesy of Ted Mayer's trio, including his excellent guitar work. Yes, the same Ted that edits this newsletter - multi-talented to be sure). Third, the review of 2013 in photos: com/ (This one runs 35 minutes and is silent. It's a look back in photos at the club's many and varied activities this year, from the AMA Expo last January, right through the Toys for Tots Fun Fly on Dec 8.) And now to this year's holiday party itself. Here's the photo link: kpuejog (Santa Ricc presented a gift exchange and Jamie and Robert, the owners of Victorios in North Hollywood were great hosts and provided excellent food. Plus hospitality director Dan Ziliack arranged for an artful and delicious cake for dessert. Congratulations to all the award winners. These photos were taken by Athena Aguila and yours truly). Please enjoy them all! Bob Tarlau Photo Courtesy Bob Tarlau, Athena Aguila
