4 CE-Marking The CE-marking consists of the letters CE (= Communautés Européennes) and the following face: What means the CE-Marking? Our products are signed legitimately with the CE-Marking, which means they meet all basic requirements as can be proved and passed through the prescribed conformity valuation process and therefore are entitled to free trade in the entire European home market (EU/EWR). Their trading and operating in the home market must not be obstructed. According to the low tension guideline it is possible to place the CE-Marking directly on the product, the packing or the covering letters (guarantee, operating instructions etc.). In the case of cables and wires the CE-Marking is not placed on the product itself. Low Tension Guideline 73/23/EWG: Products with a nominal voltage of > 50 to 1000 V a.c. resp. between > 75 to 1500 V d.c. have to be CE-marked since 01. January Attention: The CE-Marking is a proof of the conformity of the guidelines for the control authority. It is not intended for costumers. The CE-Marking is not a guarantee, assurance or sign of norm conformity. It is not a sign of norm conformity even if the fulfillment of the guidelines is demonstrated by harmonized standards. Responsible control authority: According to the arrangements of the law for the safety of appliances the market control is implemented by the industrial board of control because the low tension guideline is transposed as 1.order of the law for the safety of appliances. 3
5 Harmonization-Marking The common marking ( HAR ) shows that the production place is judged and subject to continuous plant controls corresponding with technical proceedings of a national approved office of license (in Germany: VDE). The following table contents all member countries which are obliged according to the arrangements of CENELEC (Comité Européen de Normalisation Electrotechnique) to observe certain standards of the IEC (International Electrotechnical Comission) as well as European standards and harmonization documents. 10 Packing/ Cable Packs The Wire-Coil The continuous challenge in reducing waste and packing resulted in the development of specific wire-coils. Throught the new concept to deliver wire-coils depending on the types, one or six coils are on a Euro-flat-pallet an extremely efficient compact-form has been realized. Receycable foils and card board cores and an optimal exploitation of space lead to a considerable reduction of transport and storage costs. Summarising these aspects we reached an essential contribution to connect economy and ecology. The new wire-coils AC4 and AC8 stand for Compact The relation coil-volume/wirevolume with 2:1 is very good Space-saving Good exlpoitation of storage places, 3 palettes can be stacked Economic No more handling after working up, no back-transportation Safe Outstanding Non-polluting All materials belonging to the make-up are recycable Coil AC4 Size 400x400 mm (WxH) Packaging: 6 Coils on a palett, each Coil fixed with fasterners whole palett. Shrinked with PE-foil Coil AC8 Size 800x600 mm (WxH) Packaging: 1Coil on a palett (1200x800 mm). Coil fixed with 4 fastenen whole palett. Shrinked with PE-foil 9
11 Coil-Handling Place AC4 coils in front off your equipment and remove recycable fasteners. If higher processing speeds are needed we recommend to use a cover preventing the cable from getting stock. AC8 coils can be processed directly off the palett.
