General information All persons involved with the assembly, operation and/or maintenance of gas pressure regulators must read and understand all of the following documents: - Technical product information (brochure *.00) it contains the technical data and dimensions of the equipment as well as instructions concerning set-up and mode of operation. General operating manual for gas pressure regulators and safety devices this Honeywell document contains information on assembly and operation as well as general information on troubleshooting. Operating and maintenance instructions / spare parts (brochure*.20) this document contains more detailed information on assembly and operation of the gas pressure regulator. Filter HON 905 is an integral component of the control unit and is described in this document, "Operating and maintenance instructions, spare parts". There are national laws and regulations for all sorts of jobs on gas pressure regulators, from planning to maintenance. Be sure to comply. (In Germany, for instance, DVGW work sheets G 600, G 459/II, G 491 and G 495.) Inspection and maintenance intervals depend mostly on operating conditions and the nature and properties of the gas. There are no general rules or recommendations for intervals. For Germany, we recommend to consider maintenance intervals as stated in DVGW work sheet G 495 in a first instance. However, in the mid-term, intervals must be adapted to the requirements of each specific equipment. During maintenance, components must be cleaned and then checked thoroughly. This is necessary even if there have been any unusual observations during operation and/or functional testing. Checks must focus, in particular, on diaphragms and seals and all movable parts and their respective bearings. Any and all defective parts must be replaced with new ones. The same applies to O rings removed during disassembly. Item numbers mentioned in the specific operating and maintenance instructions correspond with the numbers in the spare parts lists and drawings. Some parts in the lists and drawings are marked with a letter "W". We recommend you always have a reserve of those parts in stock for maintenance purposes. Specific maintenance instructions 2.1 Diaphragm measuring unit (K16, K17) Pre-formed diaphragm (107, 207, 407, 507, 607) During assembly, observe the correct fitting position of the loop (see pages 9, 11, 13, 15, 17,19) Note Diaphragm disc (103, 203, 403, 503) When tightening the sealing cap (121, 221, 321, 421, 521, 621) and hex nut (102, 202, 402), use an SW 24 wrench to secure the diaphragm disc so it doesn't move. Valve insert (120, 220, 320, 420, 520, 620) K16 Press the double diaphragm system down until you can mount the valve insert. K17 Press the double diaphragm system up until you can mount the valve insert. Double diaphragm system The diaphragm system must be aligned for assembly: Find the centre position by first turning all the way to the right and to the left. This is where the transverse bores of the junction piece (118, 218, 318, 418, 518, 618) and the valve housing (104, 204, 304, 404, 504, 604) align. Markings: for the centre position for the end stops Adjustment Valve housing Diaphragm Hex nut Base plate (6) The contact faces of the stage of the base plate must be perfectly aligned with respect to each other. 2.2 Metal-harmonica measuring unit (K 18, K 19) Pre-formed diaphragm (307, 607) During assembly, observe the correct fitting position of the loops (see spare parts drawing of stages) Diaphragm disc (329, 629) When tightening the sealing cap (321, 621), use an SW 24 wrench to secure the diaphragm disc so it doesn't move. Metal harmonica (326, 626) Insert junction piece (318, 618) through valve housing (304, 604). Screw down metal harmonica. Align the junction piece inside the valve housing so that both traverse bores align precisely. Install the cap. Valve insert (320, 620) K18 Press the metal harmonica up until you can mount the valve insert. K19 Press the metal harmonica down until you can mount the valve insert. Base plate (6) The contact faces of the stage and of the base plate must be perfectly aligned with respect to each other S.04
