1 Inserting Phonetic Symbols with Keycodes in Word This assumes you re using Microsoft Word. Make sure NumLock is off. Most computers have an indicator light that turns off when NumLock is off. From the font window, select SILDoulosIPA93 (or one of the other SIL fonts). These are downloadable for free from Hold down the Alt key, then on the keypad type the access code (not the IPA number) of the symbol as it it listed below.
